These photo were taken by Danger Ninja on my birthday last year and some how lost in the shuffle of my life.

This birthday was bittersweet. I was in one of my favorite cities - Portland - but felt... alienated. The brother that I raised didn't contact me because he was mad at my boyfriend at the time and said boyfriend was a little too self-involved because it was his first time in Portland. He ended up pulling me out of Powell's bookstore - if you've ever looked at my Amazon Wishlist, you know how much I love books - so he could take pictures of the type of girl I am not but that he openly preferred. However, I did have the extreme privilege of being bit by a squirrel that day so it wasn't a total loss.
