If you haven't already seen it on other social media, my car was found! The two people responsible were arrested and the police allowed me to yell at the male accomplice. It was found in a bar parking lot with the male accomplice sleeping in it. The female thief was found nearby. Apparently, she had been spending a ton of time committing crimes at the adjacent community college and the campus security were the ones that got the police involved who then found my car.Besides the accomplice, the car was filled with random clothes and stolen items (including a device used to siphon gas) and a whole lotta meth and heroin. My derby bag has been torn apart and my jerseys taken, but all my derby gear remained. They scratched up the dash a bit attempting, and failing, to remove my car stereo. My purse with my makeup, social security card, and various personal/sentimental items was not found, nor were my keys (which means I'm gonna have to take bolt cutters to the locks on both my storage units), my favorite Doc Martens, my Atom skate backpack, my Moxi skates ($700+ value), my Annual U.S. National Parks Pass, Copper's leash and travel water bowl, and my Saint Roch medallion. The car reeks of cigarettes and meth and I have to use gloves to use it until I can get it specially detailed.Nonetheless, I am so excessively grateful and I feel like I learned more than I lost. I've upgraded my insurance and purchased renters' insurance and I will never, ever, leave my keys unattended again. Everyone was so kind and generous to me during the week the car was missing that I can't begin to describe how... worthwhile it made me feel. On a logical level, I know people care about me, but I often feel like they don't or if they do, I don't deserve it. During this crisis, no one even gave me a chance to feel that way.Thank you, everyone, for making me feel like I matter.

Semi-Interesting Photography

I let my renter's insurance expire. Then I had a Pelican case with a new Sony a7iii, 35/1.4 Art, Metabones adapter, (empty) memory cards, Instax mini Neo, batteries, etc stolen from my rental car, from a car under a streetlight in a downtown Palo Alto parking lot at around 8pm. In the rain. Oh well. The other case with much more expensive gear was too large to get out of the vehicle through a window, so there is that.
