I think Gale is a whiny baby 😆 He's always complaining and very clearly jealous of Peta..which i get but jealousy ain't cute. Also, I can imagine Zuff belting this out at the most random of times 🤣

I think one of the big reasons people don't like Gale is because he is often ignoring Katniss when she says she can't focus on anything other than survival and pushing for her to make a decision between him and Peeta. The other thing is that a lot of the fans were BIG book series fans and there's obviously a lot more in those than they were able to put in the movies. I love the illustration of war and conflict in this series though, like you even said it: you'd be influenced by the propaganda, and it's not even about what's right and what's wrong because for a lot of people that's just going to come down to perspective. The reality of a war situation and even the dark reality of Panem before the rebellion (The Games, Finnick and other "desirable" Victors being sold to wealthy Capitol citizens, parts of the country being extremely poor while other parts are more privileged than you could imagine) is never shied away from in this series and it's so disturbing but it's so important to illustrate. Great reaction, I can't wait to watch Part 2!

i feel like girls understand the whole gale/peeta thing better cause to us its obvious katniss cares for gale but its pretty apparent she doesnt actually like him romantically but shes scared to lose him which is why she kisses him and leads him on cause he clearly likes her in that way and she knows it
