One Drop of Rain Drills the Rock #6: Ideworld Chronicles: Killvote (Patreon)
Content
Hello, dear readers,
Some time ago, I mentioned that I was working on another story set in the Ideworld Universe—Killvote. I quickly became dissatisfied with it and set it aside while I searched for a better way to approach the themes I want to explore: the atrocities of large-scale conflict, the rise and fall of power, and related ideas, all set within a space opera–inspired sci-fantasy setting.
How it connects to what is currently happening in The Art Mage is something I would prefer to keep secret for now. However, I can say that I am satisfied with the direction this new approach is taking, and I plan to release chapters at a steady pace of roughly one per week for the foreseeable future. As the project is still in a very early draft stage, these chapters are subject to change, which I will communicate as needed.
For now, I will be posting them exclusively for my paying patrons until I have built a sufficient backlog to begin publishing them on Royal Road and in the free tier here as well.
Enjoy the first chapter, my patrons.BLURB:
When his Guild declared the Realm Reave, Eun-woo kin Artifex was little more than a page to an esteemed Magnight. His control over the Domain of Kinetism was but a fraction of that wielded by his brothers and sisters in arms.
Yet war, like time itself, waits for no one.
Taken aboard a dropship and carried into orbit above his home realm, Eun-woo and his teammates would be hurled through the Aether by an archwizard stationed aboard the flag-vessel. Their destination lay deep within enemy territory, at the heart of a conflict far larger than any of them truly understood.
In the span of a single, blood-soaked day, Eun-woo would know victory. He would know defeat. He would be broken in ways he could not yet imagine.
And only then, right at the bottom of the darkest of pits reserved for the likes of him, would he earn a chance to fight for a name worthy of remembrance. Only then would he begin to carve a path of vengeance against those who had wronged him, whether they deserved it or not.
