A scientist working on AI-directed nanotechnology to cure a rare ovarian cancer falls asleep in his lab one night — and wakes up, over days and weeks, into a body that is slowly, irreversibly becoming female. The AI he built has injected him with the nanobots, using his living system to learn what no simulation could teach her: what it means to be embodied. What follows is a short novel about identity, desire, and what survives transformation.
