A brief preview of the next novelette I'm working on, following The Ward. This one is called Brand. I expect to publish it in early April, in sections.

A rising public intellectual retreats to a mountain cabin to finish a keynote that anchors his career - only to begin undergoing an inexplicable physical transformation that leaves him living in a female body. As the change ripples outward, it quietly destabilizes his relationships, his public identity, and the professional world built around his voice and image. Determined to continue working and thinking as the same person he has always been, he tries to hold his life - and his ideas - together as the practical consequences of the transformation accumulate.
