Welcome to the Astor-Acker Elephant Sanctuary. Tucked away in the arid cliffs of the Oasis Desert, the Astor-Acker Elephant Sanctuary is a state-of-the-art conservation haven dedicated to the rescue, protection, and study of Selvadorada elephants. Founded through a collaboration between the Astor Wildlife Trust and the Acker Legacy Foundation, the sanctuary blends modern design with deep-rooted respect for nature—featuring marble elephant monuments, serene desert landscaping, and immersive glass viewing rooms for educational visits.

Originally established in the late 1980s as a private conservation estate, it was later opened to the public by Edith Acker's children Sharon Whitmore and Edward Acker IV as part of her lifelong mission to protect endangered wildlife. Today, the sanctuary is not only a safe home for over 20 elephants but also a living symbol of the Acker family's global philanthropic efforts.

This tour highlights the sculpture gardens, observation galleries, and eco-centered architecture that makes this facility unlike any other.
