Alex Mullenix

QC reminding me to get back to my lit review.

J. Toufic Chahin

Oooh, a grad student joke!!! God if it weren't for j-stor and torrents I'd be soooo poor

Alexander W Couzens

I swear I've had this exact conversation with fellow English majors while getting smoked up and/or out.

R L

Oh this is going to be lit.

Shout out to Alex Mullenix who unintentionally punned this first

drone r0m-3

Now I'm curious to see if someone's done a study on this.

Mitchell Sealy

Geeze. I hope Marten doesn't get judgemental when he finds out that after all their talk of exam stress she ended up smoking up/out with her mom when she said she'd be studying, He's usually pretty chill but once in a while he can be surprisingly boneheaded about this sort of thing because he's a little bit emotionally immature in some areas.

Gary Walker

Claire's mom seems like she'd be super fun to get high with.

Charlotte Grubbs

Claire, you missed the opportunity to convince Clinton to get matching tattoos.

Asher Rose Fox

Somehow the most charming thing about the QCniverse is that no one has cell phones and everyone just drops in on everyone else without notice and it's always fine.

Am Queue

We always just said 'get stoned'. But I'm a fossil.

Miyaa

I would love a side story about how Claire & Clinton’s mom got to be more hip than her kids.

Anonymous

Ohno! But she has an exam...

And yes, I did work doing Stack Maintenance (shelving books) at a library for about 5 years while I was in college, as I was slowly going through an undergraduate program for Computer Science. Working in the library wasn't horrible, at least I had good people I enjoyed working with, and there were always interesting problems to solve -- like trying to figure out how to help move a branch library.

Friends don't let friends JSTORE while high

Sally Fields

“Of course, it is very important to be sober when you take an exam. Many worthwhile careers in the street-cleansing, fruit-picking and subway-guitar-playing industries have been founded on a lack of understanding of this simple fact.” ― Terry Pratchett, Moving Pictures

Actually, we know everyone has cell phones, they just don't bother to use them unless it's either a) an emergency or b) they're texting to either offer advice or inquire as to the state of a date. The town seems to be small enough that most places can be walked to in a fairly short period, so calling isn't really necessary.

MikeT

Someone didn't take Tai's advice...

Ben Russell-Gough

I've suddenly realised where Clinton and Claire get their habit of suddenly drifting off track into randomness.

How about the side story of how she arranged for the cloning? I mean, Claire and Clinton look exactly like their mom, aside from Claire's freckles. Waiiiiit ... Claire, Clinton, cloning. All those "cl-" word starts can't be a coincidence, can they? Is mom "Clara" or "Claudia"?

A comment that reminds me of Pintsize saying that getting high with a grandmother on a bus sounded like fun.

Verteiron

Claire has apparently forgotten that weed gives her terrible anxiety. This won't end well.

Well, that's going by one experience a long time ago. She has had many positive life developments since then, so things might go perfectly fine.

It's not as if smoking pot is 'rebelling' against anything anymore. It's become quite overtly mainstream to the point where NOT partaking is rebellion!

awgiedawgie

This better not end up like Iggy on "Taxi". He was a smart, dedicated college student... went to a party with some friends and inadvertently ate a whole plate of "special" brownies. His brain never worked right after that.

It's legal, out here in the wild west of Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada and Colorado! I've even seen billboards advertising home delivery!

Nope. I still have both arms. But I did go on to later work in the basement of the Pentagon, where legend has it that the elder god Shub-Internet is responsible for all line noise, etc.... See <a href="http://www.catb.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.catb.org/</a>~esr/jargon/html/S/Shub-Internet.html for more information on that.

Oh, and we didn't have the movable shelving. That was too expensive. The Great Reading Room looked like this: <a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/600x315/41/6b/d9/416bd90742514b8366509ff6d64598eb.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/600x315/41/6b/d9/416bd90742514b8366509ff6d64598eb.jpg</a> and Deck 4 (where I worked) looked like this: <a href="https://oklahoma.reel-scout.com/up_images/2/2512882.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://oklahoma.reel-scout.com/up_images/2/2512882.jpg</a>

It's been aeons since I saw it. I thought he took one bite, and then kept going back for more.
