I was going to scrap it but with some convincing from some of you, I finished mixing it LOL idk.

EDIT: I was wondering why it was not turning out good after recording and mixing multiple times and then I pitched down the instrumentals lol.

Listening to the new version, the mix sounds a lot clearer but also the singing just sounds more practiced. I already liked the other one, so this is just improvement on a good thing!

This new version is better thanks to the addition of backup vocals and the extra vocal track. I listened to the original to try to figure out why you wanted to scrap this practice cover, and I think those two things really improve it. Singing in a lower pitch doesn't change much; the new vocals just help make it feel more "complete" since the original has those too. I might be weak to your lower register but there was nothing wrong with you singing this in a higher pitch before. Thank you for trying again. Your effort doesn't go unappreciated, Dott. 💜

I'm torn because I loved the intensity and intimacy of your raw vocals on the old one, but I love the vibe of the new one. It sounds so dejected and defeated that it had me feeling emotions I didn't know I'd feel for what is a "simple 'love song'". I love the backing vocals and overdubbing at the end btw great job! If I'm being honest, I still prefer the raw, intimate vocals the old cover had, e.g., vocal fry and your breathing. I appreciate both covers, I can't stress this enough. I just felt like sharing what I liked about both versions.

I'm glad you gave a second chance to Cupid and this cover. Scrapping it would have been a crime against art. I didn't hear the first version, but I love the piano and lower pitch compared to the original song. It all makes it sound much more intimate, touching, and real. And the backup vocals are a great touch. I think this cover would fit perfectly in a musical movie and a good one. Wonderful job, Dottovu!🙏
