Factorio Ep. 1 is underway, only Ep. 1 will be available on YouTube! There are still four exclusive videos to come this month, and they will continue my Factorio journey.

I've selected a date for both Factorio Ep. 2 AND the celebration livestream: January 7th. Mark your calendars, it should be a fun one! It'll likely be a 4-5 hour stream, playing some casual games, and chatting with everyone.

Hey Tyler, I have only one piece of advice, and I basically became a patron just to post it: DO NOT read too much Factorio advice!!! We seasoned players all know what optimized factories look like and I for one do not want to see more near-optimal gameplay. I want to see someone smart and creative like you build the type of delightful spaghetti that only people with less than 500hrs in the game cam build.

The one advice I’d say would be checkout some of the QOL mods. For example research queue. By default there’s a setting when creating a world to allow research queue but it’s easy to miss, so a mod can help enable it. It makes life a lot easier. Second advice is just AUTOMATE EVERYTHING. I think those pieces of advice help the spaghetti grow efficiently

Exactly my thoughts. I have played this game for thousands of hours and I want to see him discover the game for the first time, like I would like to do again. If he just played by stuff he read online it wold be boring. That being said the ingame Tips and Tricks in the bottom left are great and I hope Tyler takes the time to look through them

As a factorio veteran (I have over 1000 hours in the game and have played since its alpha days), I have a lot of things I can say, but part of the joy of the game is figuring it all out yourself so I won't give any tips. That being said, the one thing I will say is please push the `alt` button so that recipe icons show up. It makes everything a lot more understandable at a glance. Have fun with the game, and thanks for the video!

I playied this game A LOT and part of the game is to figure stuff out on your own. So I only want to give you some minor general tips to not ruin your experience. 1) Inserters can insert between buildings 2) If a building has a yellow arrow it can directly feed into other buildings (mining drill) 3) With ALT you can switch to a better overview mode 4) You may want to click on inserters/spliters/etc. to get additional controll ...those are just some small useful tips and I don't think they ruin your gameplay :)

Seeing someone play the game and not know these things was actually surprisingly refreshing, so I'm cool with Tyler not knowing this stuff. (except for alt to show recipe icons. That's something (IMO) would be the one and only tip to give to new players.)
