Oh my, this may be my favorite episode ever! Definitely Top 3. I mean, angry Alexis is a queen of queens. I mostly agree with what you said at the start about young people on social media. A few months back I decided that I didn't want people under the age 0f 18/21 on my feed/explore page. Moving forward I just click 'uninterested' or 'don't recommend channel' for any young creators or content including parents/kids. I can't influence how other adults behave but I can control how I consume media. p.s I love you both.

Mostly agree with the beginning part and I don’t know what video you are referencing too but 16 is not a “little girl” at 16 you mostly know if you’re saying something racist or wrong,,,, even if it’s just for jokes or to be edgy. People shouldn’t be badgering a teen but let’s not pretend a 16 year old is a “little girl” who doesn’t know better. Teens should be held accountable for the things they say and do (especially if it’s presented in a serious tone and not jokingly) because those teens turn into adults who think and say the same things, its learned behavior.

i agree that tumblr definitely was a place for young people to put their deranged opinions and ideas out there but i need ppl to stop romanticizing tumblr.💀 like that shit was still incredibly damaging but just cause you didn’t have your face attached to it doesn’t mean it wasn’t your thoughts yk. i do agree that there does need to be space for young people to be able to express their thoughts but i don’t think there’s really anywhere on the internet that would be sufficient. they are often saying these thoughts in an echo chamber and those can either lead to annoying ass, policing queer kids or neo-nazi school shooters and that is not an exaggeration. as a black person, it is so goddamn annoying to have to always extend grace to racist people. *we* always have to be the ones to forgive and forget when people do shitty things.

Darby, I totally agree with what you're saying at the beginning. As someone who grew up southern baptist filled with internalized homophobia, I posted and said and thought some AWFUL things! Now I know I'm a flaming homo lmao but you really can't learn and expand and UNLEARN until you're out of that environment and intentionally question what you believe and stand for. Kids need room to grow & cancel culture sometimes needs to acknowledge that people can learn, grow & change. 🩵

What is young anymore. In my timing of life, at 64, I feel like anxiety grew in me as I got older. Now I’m glad there are tools to help deal with things, but saying “my CBD gummies are a saviour” is a phenomenal leap for us to be able to make. And an ordinary leap for a much younger crowd in times of such heavily saturated brains of any age, soaking up everything that’s out there with practically no filter on available media like TikTok etc…🧐❤️🇨🇦
