Hey, if any One Piece fans want to shed some light (I'll probably chuck this on my Community tab too) - I was talking to a friend about One Piece the other day and she mentioned one of the movies, then mentioning that it takes place soon in the timeline to where I'm up to. I said I didn't really know much about the movies but I should ask some fans about them.

So, I'm pretty sure the movies are likely not going to be necessary to the story. Most Anime movies are fun little side-stories or non-canon events - sometimes they're semi-canon, events that happen but are never brought up again.

I also saw an article that's like "Here are all the One Piece movies and where you should watch them in the timeline!"

Anyway, the point is, on Saturdays I post movie reactions, and I think sometimes those movie reactions could be One Piece movies if there are some that I can watch at this point in the show. Can anyone let me know their thoughts on this, and also which movies should go where so I don't get spoiled?

Speak of the devil, I was thinking of bringing One Piece movies up just yesterday but I didn't want to make demands, plus there's a lot of info and you do the whole "sync your own copy" which may or may not be possible in all cases. But I'm a One Piece fanatic so I know a lot on the subject! I'm going to reply to this comment momentarily with more.

--All movies are non-canon, but recent ones tease canon elements, sometimes before they reach the anime, as they have more of Oda's involvement. Only some of them are popular, and I would note for the future when they can be watched. --Movies 1-3 (The Movie/Clockwork Island Adventure/Chopper's Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals) are hard to obtain digitally, and not worth it, as they're 20 years old and all take place before Alabasta. 🔥--Movie 4: "Dead End Adventure" takes place right after Alabasta and is decently recommended. Best to watch first, but I don't know where to find it legally. --Movie 5: "Cursed Holy Sword" is Zoro focused. Not a recommended one. 🔥--Movie 6: "Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island" is a gem. Absolutely recommended, the most unique movie ever, directed by Mamoru Hosoda. I think DVDs are rarely available. Takes place right after Skypiea, before Water 7. --Movie 7: "Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle" is not a recommended one. But note it takes place before Water 7 yet has a spoiler for that saga so it should be seen after. --Movie 8 is just a retelling of Alabasta. Nothing special, newer animation. Netflix has it (USA). --Movie 9 is a retelling of Chopper's Drum Island but a very drastically changed timeline, cannot watch until after Water 7! Also Netflix. (From this point I note specific episodes to avoid spoilers; anime arc continuity is meaningless.) 🔥--Movie 10 (Film: Strong World) is on Netflix here, and is the start of modern quality One Piece feature films. Strong World is the only film ever written by ODA. After episode 425. A classic! 🔥--"Episode 0" Strong World ties with a *somewhat crucial* OVA episode called "Strong World: Episode 0" which is manga canon and is watched after ep 448. Ideally watch back to back. --Movie 11: "3D Straw Hat Chase" is all CGI, half an hour, not worth it. 🔥--Movie 12 (Film: Z) on Netflix. After ep 574. Great story! 🔥--Special: "3D2Y" on Crunchyroll. After ep 663. 🔥--Special: "Heart of Gold" on Crunchyroll. Immediate precursor to Film Gold. 🔥--Movie 13 (Film: Gold) on Crunchyroll. After ep 746. Beautiful art! 🔥--Movie 14 (Stampede) on Crunchyroll. After ep 968. Fandom celebration! 🔥--Movie 15 (Film: Red) on Crunchyroll. After ep TBD, this is still currently relevant! Best music ever!

You always come through, Veritas. This is pretty much exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. And Baron Omatsuri is the movie that my friend was talking about, so I'm glad to hear that's one of the ones you recommend. I'll keep this all in mind. I remember at the CrunchyRoll Expo that I was at like a year ago, they were screening One Piece Red and there was a lot of excitement there. I wanted to watch it so bad, hahaha.
