Here's one of the first city preview images from Neural Rendering V1.0, which I developed for Euro Truck Simulator 2. This work aims to take the classic game look of ETS2 to a much more natural, atmospheric, cinematic, and photorealistic level.

In this image, with neural rendering active, the following improvements stand out:

Realistic cloudy weather atmosphere

More natural lighting and shadow transitions

Improved material response on truck cabs, paint, metal, and plastic surfaces

Stronger detail perception on asphalt and road surfaces

More realistic scene contrast and tone mapping

More natural depth of field in city scenes

Softened but powerful cinematic visual structure

A more realistic overall look

The goal isn't just to sharpen the image; it's to achieve a visual quality that makes ETS2 feel like a real roadside shot at first glance, not just a game.

This scene focuses particularly on:

cloudy sky distribution,

road and tram line details,

realism of the city texture,

material quality of the Scania cabin,

how ambient light is placed on the vehicle surface.

This image is a preview taken from within the game. It is not an offline render; it demonstrates the real-time visual aspect created by the neural rendering approach in ETS2.

Futures in later versions will focus on:

rain and wet asphalt system,

night lighting,

headlight reflections,

glass and reflection quality,

long-distance atmosphere,

light consistency in city and highway scenes,

image stability,

general performance optimization.

V1.0 is the basic initial version that takes ETS2 to a much more serious visual level.
