Another strike against Paul, and also a bit of explanation, the light novel explains that when Zenith found out she was pregnant she stopped having sex for health reasons, which is why Paul was pretty "backed up" and gave in to Lilia's seduction so easily. Another bit of context the show cuts out by not spending a lot of time in other characters heads is that Zenith immediately saw what Rudy was trying to pull at the dinner table and didn't really believe what he was saying happened between Paul and Lilia but decided since Rudy was trying so hard to not have Lilia leave she would try to work through it and not kick her out.

To add to this: it's widely believed in that country that having sex while pregnant is bad. Also, Zenith had felt that this was the first time that Rudy showed he loved his family because he always seemed kind of like an outsider to her, thinking Rudy didn't really care
