"What does 'Gintama' even mean?" It literally means "silver ball". The original manga author picked that because it sounded cool to him, but his editor at the time pointed out that it sounded a little too similar to "kintama" (lit. golden ball[s]). Why was this a problem you might ask? Kintama is a euphemism for testicles. The author kept it anyway because it was funny and this series is a comedy so...

two and a half hours X_X

With opening 12, don’t worry you didn’t watch them in reverse order. In the order of the show, the one you watched first came first for plot reasons

Also thank you for all your hard work!!! Love the reaction

mantama and the episode it opens for is probably the most unique concept in anime, at least for me it is. its a transition to new anime essentially and yes it is related to the golden gintoki.

This show is on my watchlist for years now... If you start to react to it, I will finally watch it.

Haha I would love to check this out ☺️

This is going to take some digesting... Eventually. Side note: The dog is Sadaharu #27, whom she (Kagura) adores. Spirit dog protector. Very strong, but still just a pet when compared to her. Also random quote from a different anime: "Did you think that I was weaker than the beast I employ?" - Hanasaka Warabi

I saw it on YouTube and I'll watch it again. My favorite show 😍

Great reaction, it's really cool how much attention you put into catching all the details. I started watching on Youtube but decided to get the Patreon to see the full length and it was definitely worth it. Gintama is my favourite anime, and you really got a good grasp of the type of show it is just from watching the Openings. I would really enjoy seeing you check it out eventually when it can fit it in your schedule. It would be cool if you also checked out the Endings.
