GET THE MIC AWAY FROM THIS MAN! HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO STOP TALKING!

You would not believe how much I cut out of this. What the hell, man. This is about half as long as the full recording. Insane. Usually, I would listen through it again to make sure the edit's good, but it's late and it took me hours to do this, also insane. I have no interest in spending another 50 minutes on this. Happy New Year, everyone, and thank you for making the end of this year great!

I can say with certainty that the answers for the next on will be far more concise. Thanks for your questions!

Questions:

TW: First answer brings up various kinks that may make you uncomfortable.

2:19 "Are there any topics that are hard "no's" for people to request? just whatever you wouldnt feel comfortable voicing under any circumstance."

7:34 "Do you listen to asmr on your own time, or do you only create it? whats your favorite kind of content to hear/make?

11:38 "What's your audio creation process like? You've mentioned you have a spreadsheet to track your audio ideas, and then pick a couple to focus on. Do you come up with the idea and then write the script over time or all at once? Same with the recording - is that done in parts or all in one go? Your audios are so long with such great production value, I'm curious how the sausage is made."

18:22 "How did you decide to start making audios?"

30:59 "How're you feeling about the whole journey, with all the growth and now with the launch of your Patreon?"

36:00 "Are there any audio ideas (SFW or NSFW) you'd like to either record or see someone else make that you haven't yet found? Are you a sucker for all the usual tropes or do you prefer something more novel?"

41:36 "What exactly is your profile picture/banner? It looks so trippy I honestly can't tell."

42:21 "And last one. What's your favorite video game and what are you playing after you finish Silksong?"

Admittedly, although I enjoyed your take on it, I am also generally not as into neko/animal-person content. But vampires and werewolves and fantasy stuff? Hell yeah. Maybe I should comment on the suggestions post … Your sweet and wholesome stuff is great. Who doesn’t love some feel good fluff? You did pronounce my name right, thanks! I hate the feeling of forgetting an idea or a line. I try to jot something down ASAP in my phone notes but sometimes I am an idiot and I pretend like I’ll remember — and true to idiot form, of course I don’t. I don’t think I’ve ever heard ANYONE use the phrase tip to tail, so you have that fine distinction now. “There’s a poetry in the human soul” is a beautiful turn of phrase. And it is hard to reconcile with, but that’s where all the meaning comes from. It’s a shame that (short of drawing furry porn) so many creative endeavors just aren’t profitable enough to sustain creators. If only it were easier for more people to stumble onto the success the Stardew Valley dev did — being able to do his own art and music and development for his game and having it become such a massive success. Thanks for being so candid about the years-long road you took to get here. I hope you continue to have success. Because your job sounds AWFUL! And you sound so much happier and more excited about this audio journey and where it’s taking you. Not sure what it takes to make a living from this, but all the best wishes getting there. I know I’m saying this in the middle of yet another comment full of yap, but I will accept and appreciate the blanket permission from this to yap. I LOVE Expedition 33 and I am one of those people who can’t shut up about it. I’ve softly coerced (yes that’s a thing) many a person into playing it and it’s such a joy reliving it by proxy each time. I think people focus on the combat because it’s difficult to talk about the story without spoiling it. I hope you enjoy the game. I’m sure Portal 3 will happen… right after Half-Life 3. At least Kingdom Hearts 4 is likelier than both! (But do I trust Square Enix with the direction of anything these days? No.) I didn’t expect your rambling to descend into neighing. But maybe I should have. Thanks for this lovely Q&R (ramble) and answering all my questions in such detail. I enjoyed listening to your thoughts and insights. And just to reassure you — no issues with the editing in this. I’m gonna find my own stopping point now.

A fellow Tanuki appreciator!! 🙌

Absolutely! I've recently been into cubby wubby as well, such a comforting voice.

Absolutely comment on the suggestions post! I don't get to everything immediately, but most suggestions will pop up at some point. I know I've heard the phrase "tip to tail" a few times, but it's nowhere near common enough for me to just whip it out like that. I still don't know why that, of all things, came to mind. I have had far more hope for my future since starting this. When I was younger, I was terrified of the idea of getting some job I can't stand just to pay the bills and never getting anywhere with anything I'm passionate about, just being stuck not really living. This is the first time in many years where that doesn't really feel like that's going to happen. It feels like I'm making it out. And I'm not having as bad of a time at my job as I was when I first started making audios (honestly, I know some people would kill to be in my position), but it's still feels awful being there, and it's still in the way of what I really want. It's not like I can make audios full-time yet, but even with how new this all is for me, it has already given me options that I never had before. As for Expedition 33, I would absolutely believe that it's hard not to spoil. I mean, my first session ended right after you set sail, and there's no way to even hint at what happens without it being a spoiler. I'm intrigued, to say the least. (I also don't trust Square Enix, but I'm holding onto hope. PLEASE let it be good!) Thanks for your comment. It's always appreciated!

You know, I’ll make up an explanation for you. Apparently tip to tail is a method of adding vectors, and you did end up talking about your love of math later if I recall correctly. You just had math on the mind. I’m not someone who thinks you have to love your job… but I do think you have to at least not hate it and feel like it’s a waste of living. I admire the amount of effort you’re investing to juggle your job and your audios simultaneously (like, literally, when you’re at your job editing audios). I’m confident you’ll make it out! Whatever it is, your work just sticks out — you’ve got that je ne sais quoi … that Expedition 33 also has. Smooth transition, right? There are so many other fantastic moments and if nothing else, I think you’ll enjoy the incredible music. (Fingers crossed Square gets it together but they’re more likely to invest in an NFT or something instead, idk.) (You didn’t see me fail to reply correctly.)

You have no idea how comfortable it is to hear your thoughts on dark/"taboo" kink. Even if you didn't want to do anything darker, knowing that audio creators I enjoy understand that dark kinks are just bedroom play is relieving. Though I will say I'm double happy to hear you're into noncon/cnc and incest/fauxcest cause me too LMAO. If you know the subreddit GoneWildAudio (and GoneWildAudioGay) there's so many good VAs there that do brocon stuff it's my favorite thing ever 🙏 Especially as someone transmasc, it can be surprisingly gender affirming to be called someone's little brother. Also ShiningArmor is peak for real! And if you haven't already you should listen to ZSakuVA's vampire listener audio series 👀 Asirel (the speaker character) is so interesting and nuanced and it scratches my toxic codependency yaoi itch so good. I personally do like neko/animal-person content but I also don't mind vampires, robots (my personal favorite), or straight up monster listeners lol. There's really not enough good content out there for nonhuman listeners. Why can't I just beast out? Let me bite someone's fingers!!! Though I'm not a werewolf guy personally. I just can't get over the sensory issues with fur and wet dog smell LMAO Hearing your script writing process is actually so useful for me. I don't do any audios yet because one I still live with my parents and two I fully sound like a girl. Nobody would believe it was M4M. But some day.... sighs dreamily. May just be me, but I wouldn't mind if all your audios had genuine sound effects. That said I'm a horny fuck and I like hearing guys moaning (duh). Also 100% jobs suck :( I used to work at a deli in a local grocery chain and god it was EXHAUSTING. Customer service is not for the faint of heart, but alas. Sending well wishes from my corner of the Earth. Also, I believe I heard a Squenix game? 👀 I've been crazy hooked on FFXIV for the last few months. Some of the dungeons I've gotten to are exhausting but the main story is getting GOOOD. It definitely has it's faults (Squenix's racism problems are glaring) but the central story ideas of hope and community and anti-fascism are very well-crafted. I am disappointed with the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailers though </3

I actually had the first part of that vampire series in my watch later and completely forgot about it, so thanks for the reminder! I think listeners might be more willing than you'd think to accept any label you give them, if you ever did start making audios. I've heard a lot of people talking about FFXIV over the past few years. I'm not an MMO kind of guy, but it seems like everyone who plays it gets really into it. And yeah, I don't know why they didn't just wait until they had more to show for KH4, but maybe sometime soon they'll put out a trailer that actually shows what the game will be like.

Usually I'm nervous about saying a lot at once but all the positivity for yappers here on this Patreon is helping so: I love to laugh, so once more, things that made me laugh: •"Imma freak" •"Those are all done in-house" •The incredulous "where did that come from" after saying "tip to tail" •"I don't wanna be one of those people. ...Uh-oh!" •The realization of how long you've been recording. (Adorable, if I may say so) •"Learn to speak you fool" Because I don't think you have a problem with speaking lol •"borked" •"and that's what makes it so *hot*" •"I'm not going to tell you just yet" •Excellent ending there ~ Keep up the kissing, man. Makes me smile. I love me some good ol' romance. (And other stuff too but that's besides the point—) ~ Forgetting stuff is suuuuuuch a bummer. I get all my best ideas while I'm driving, how cruel is that? I've developed several pneumonic devices to help me remember stuff but even then my limit is like... 8. Weh. ~ The ROMOMMATE audio was FULL  IMPROV??? Holyyyyyy shit. That's really impressive ~ Mad respect to the dedication to the SFX. ~ "There's a poetry in the human soul that I don't think a lot of people are comfortable talking about." *Slams table* FACTS ~ Ah, yes, the fear of being perceived. Big mood. ~ As the saying goes, every artist is their own worst critic. The support on your creations is 100% deserved. Sometimes it just takes an outside perspective to see the brilliance. ~ Fingers crossed that those collab scripts work out and you find some people that you have fun working with! ~ Waiting for release of games is... oof. Persona 5 really tested my patience.

I would like to 2nd the sentiments on hearing O.V.'s perspective on dark kinks. Could not have said it better myself
