Beth was wearing only a thin nightgown today, her pale calves dangling in the air as she swung them back and forth.

At first, Luke didn't think much of it. He assumed Beth was just excited and kissing his face as an affectionate way of thanking him.

He raised a hand, intending to pat her head before setting her down.

But as Beth kept kissing him, something gradually started to feel off.

The kisses landing on his cheeks slowly drifted toward the corner of his mouth.

A victorious little smile appeared on Beth's lips.

Then she simply leaned in and kissed Luke directly on the lips.

It was a long, deep kiss, clumsy but filled with affection.

Beth's face instantly turned bright red, even the tips of her ears taking on a faint blush. Her clear, lively eyes had grown misty as she gazed up at him.

"Luke..."

Her voice was soft and sweet, with even a slight tremble to it. "This time... it's finally my turn, right?"

This wasn't some line where everyone got their turn!

Luke was completely stunned.

He had a feeling his sister-in-law had misunderstood something.

Maggie had already made things very clear. Beth needed to wait and not rush into anything. Hershel's health wasn't good right now, and if even a hint of this got back to him, the old man might keel over on the spot.

Luke might not be some model gentleman, but there were still rules to follow in this household.

No matter how much Beth tried to tempt him, without Maggie's approval, he was going to remain a perfect gentleman!

"Ahem!"

Luke reluctantly set her down. "Um... Beth! I just got back, and I haven't had any rest the entire trip. Let me catch my breath first, okay?"

"I'm going to take a shower!"

He practically fled into the bathroom and immediately locked the door behind him.

Was she serious?

Now his sister-in-law was pulling this on him too?

Once the door was shut, Luke let out a long breath.

He lowered his head and sniffed himself. He really did need a shower. Otherwise, Maggie definitely wouldn't let him into bed tonight.

He turned on the shower, letting the hot water pour over him as he wondered how he was going to explain this to Maggie.

Click!

The bathroom lock suddenly opened, and a pale figure quickly slipped inside.

The moment she entered, she locked the door again.

Luke jolted.

When a man chased a woman, there could be a mountain between them. When a woman chased a man, there was barely a curtain.

His sister-in-law was apparently determined to make this happen one way or another.

Through the rising steam, a soft figure wrapped her arms around him from behind.

"Luke..."

What happened next didn't need to be described in detail. (18,962 words omitted.)

...

By evening, the sky was beginning to darken.

Rosita was the first one home.

The fiery Latina had barely stepped through the door when she spotted Beth clinging to Luke, looking positively radiant.

Rosita was about to casually greet them when her eyes swept over Beth and suddenly stopped.

Something was off.

She couldn't shake the feeling that Beth seemed... different today.

Her complexion looked much better.

Even her face seemed brighter and more radiant.

Rosita took a few more looks. There was something different in Beth's expression now, and even the way she carried herself had changed. It wasn't something an ordinary girl next door could easily fake.

This girl had finally gotten some action!

Rosita was hardly inexperienced herself. She was an old hand at this sort of thing, so there was no hiding the signs from her.

"Oh, wow!"

Rosita's expression instantly turned knowing. "Beth, you really couldn't hold back, huh? You're supposed to be Maggie's secret weapon, and you gave in that easily..."

She stared at Luke with a teasing half-smile.

Luke remained perfectly composed.

Beth had insisted!

What was he supposed to do?

Play dead, apparently!

"Luke..."

Rosita deliberately drew out his name.

She slowly sauntered over and bent down beside him. "So tell me, what do you think would happen if Maggie found out about this...?"

"What do you want?" Luke didn't even look up. What was Rosita plotting now?

"Nothing difficult."

Rosita leaned close to his ear and whispered softly, "Give me the next few days off and spend some quality time with me. Keeping a secret isn't hard. I promise this will die with me."

"Otherwise..."

Rosita squeezed Luke's abs. "You wouldn't want Maggie finding out, would you? Hmm? You tempting man."

She even hooked a finger under Luke's chin.

"You shameless woman, keep your hands to yourself!"

Beth instantly bristled.

She planted herself in front of Luke, waving both hands wildly to fend Rosita off.

Luke gently moved Beth aside. "Forget it, Rosita. If you can tell, Maggie will be able to tell too. Her instincts have always been sharp."

The smugness immediately vanished from Rosita's face.

"Boring. I'm done. See you."

She had a point.

If Rosita could spot it at a glance, there was no chance Maggie would remain completely oblivious.

Sure enough.

The moment Maggie came home, she noticed something was different about Beth. No matter how hard Beth tried to act normal, there was still something unusual about the way she walked. Maggie took one look at Luke and immediately knew that bastard had been sneaking around again.

That night, Luke was thoroughly put through the wringer.

...

The next day, Luke trudged into the office looking unusually tired.

Maggie and Rosita had gone all out to make sure he remembered the lesson this time.

Someone was already there.

Ada.

Instead of her combat gear, she was wearing a sleek black pencil skirt that hugged her alluring curves, while sheer black stockings covered her long, shapely legs.

At the moment, those legs were casually propped up on the desk.

She lounged in Luke's chair with a radio in hand, her expression focused as she switched smoothly between several languages, quietly issuing instructions.

Ada was even wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses that rested neatly on the bridge of her delicate nose.

Combined with her cool, aloof features, the outfit made her look exactly like a sophisticated personal secretary with an unmistakably mature air.

Luke's eyes lit up, and most of his drowsiness disappeared on the spot.

Damn!

All those mods she'd worn before couldn't even compare to this.

She really was a top-tier agent.

No matter what style she tried, she pulled it off perfectly. The cold and glamorous female agent, the dashing female warrior... and now a sophisticated personal secretary?

Ada noticed him enter and raised a hand, signaling for him to wait.

Then she continued speaking into the radio, handling the matters at hand.

Now that she had completely cut ties with Wesker, she needed to shift her focus toward other factions.

After so many years as an agent, Ada had built up her own informants and intelligence channels around the world. Although she was accustomed to working alone, she had never truly severed her connection to that network.

She also hadn't forgotten to contact her sources, sending word south to gather detailed intelligence on the city-state controlled by Ashley's father while considering how best to approach the president.

And what kind of leverage they could demand in return.

At the end of the day, she now had one main priority.

Planning on Luke's behalf.

Luke watched the sophisticated woman work, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed.

Who else but him could still enjoy cosplay in the middle of the apocalypse?
