Brazil: Criminal Empire - Chapter 105: Murder and Arson Pave the Road to Riches (Patreon)

“Rivaldo, you can come in now!”
Rock first picked up the two P90s from the men he had taken out at the entrance. Giving weapons like these to drug traffickers was a complete waste.
They would be far better used by the Battle Angels’ special operations squads.
With the two from the entrance added in, there were now five P90s laid out on the table, finished in black and desert colors. They looked damn good.
Beside them were more than a dozen transparent magazines that the bald man had already loaded. He really was a Brazilian “good guy.”
Rivaldo, No. 2, and No. 4 raised their weapons and carefully climbed over the sandbag wall at the entrance.
They also remembered to bring Rock’s AK-308 inside.
Rivaldo went first, carrying the M249 as he slowly climbed over the sandbag wall.
“Boss, your armed climbing skills are incredible.”
Rivaldo genuinely admired that ability.
In urban combat, anyone capable of moving like that had an overwhelming advantage over their opponents.
“Whoa, FN P90s. There are actually five of them!” No. 2 and No. 4 exclaimed when they saw the P90s on the table.
This kind of firearm was rarely seen in Brazil. Around the world, most P90s were used by special forces and certain police units.
None of them had expected to find so many in the hands of a drug trafficking organization.
“Rivaldo, you guys interrogate him. I want the money and the weapons.”
Rock handed the bald man over to Rivaldo. As a former BOPE member, Rivaldo was well versed in the “plastic bag memory technique.”
Rock turned and entered the armory.
The moment he stepped into the roughly ten-square-meter room, he felt like a mouse that had fallen into a barrel of rice.
Weapon racks covered the walls, packed with AR-series assault rifles and Glock pistols. Every gun looked almost brand new.
Drug traffickers really did have money. Even their weapons and equipment were fresh off the shelf.
Rock’s attention was immediately drawn to a jet-black M24 sniper rifle.
Judging by its appearance, the M24 had probably been fitted with aftermarket components, giving it an especially sleek look.
The M24 uses 7.62×51mm NATO-standard ammunition, has a five-round magazine, and an effective range of up to 800 meters. It is an excellent bolt-action sniper rifle.
Rock had no idea why the bald man had not brought the sniper rifle out earlier. Maybe he thought it would not be much use at close range.
Perfect. He could give this M24 to one of the squad’s marksmen later.
With the P90s available, even the AKS-74Us could be replaced.
The P90 was lighter and more compact, making it much better suited as a sniper’s personal defense weapon.
That meant both squads could be equipped with sniper rifles and M249 light machine guns. Their assault capability would rise sharply.
Rock looked around the armory a few more times and spotted a stack of more than a dozen plastic cases.
He casually opened one and almost laughed out loud.
The cases were filled with FN P90 submachine guns. More importantly, they came complete with scopes and suppressors.
He counted fifteen cases in total.
Together with the five FN P90s outside, that made twenty P90s, enough for every assault team member in the special operations squads to carry one.
With weapons like these, there was basically no need to carry other compact assault rifles.
But Rock knew very well that while the P90 was an excellent submachine gun, what mattered even more was having its dedicated 5.7×28mm armor-piercing ammunition, the SS190 armor-piercing round.
The 5.7×28mm cartridge also came in many other soft-point variants, but their armor-piercing performance was nowhere near as good.
Among 5.7×28mm ammunition, the SS190 armor-piercing round was the most powerful option.
After searching some more, Rock pulled out another case.
Inside were twenty sleek-looking pistols arranged neatly in rows. Beside them were carefully packed suppressors, tactical flashlights, and a full set of accessories.
They were FN57 pistols designed to complement the P90, and every single one was brand new.
The FN57 used the same ammunition as the P90, giving it far better armor penetration than pistols chambered in 9mm.
It also had a twenty-round magazine, providing plenty of sustained firepower.
Mexican drug traffickers especially favored this pistol because it could easily penetrate the body armor worn by Mexican police officers.
For that reason, it was also known in Mexico as the “Police’s Nemesis.”
Looking at the pile of brand-new P90s and FN57s in front of him, Rock felt like he had hit the jackpot.
Judging by the way the bald man had been loading magazines earlier, the P90s outside had probably only been unboxed recently.
Clearly, this entire batch of submachine guns and pistols had only just been purchased.
Since the bald man had gone to so much trouble to prepare everything, Rock could only reluctantly accept his generosity and take these brand-new weapons for himself.
He had already made up his mind. In the future, every member of the special operations squads would carry a P90 paired with an FN57.
Because each SS190 armor-piercing round was relatively light, they could carry more than twice as many compared to heavier ammunition.
That would give the special operations squads plenty of sustained firepower.
The urgent priority now was finding enough matching 5.7×28mm armor-piercing ammunition.
His persistence paid off.
Rock finally found several large unopened cases of SS190 armor-piercing rounds in a cabinet beneath the weapon racks.
A rough count put the total at nearly 100,000 rounds.
Seeing that much ammunition finally put Rock at ease. With the firing rates of the P90 and FN57, a small stockpile would never have lasted long.
He opened the remaining cabinets and found huge quantities of 7.62mm and 5.56mm ammunition.
There were more than a dozen 200-round ammunition boxes of 5.56mm rounds specifically meant for the M249.
All together, the various calibers amounted to several hundred thousand rounds, filling the cabinets throughout the room.
The old saying really was right. Murder and arson paved the road to riches.
With this ammunition depot secured, Rock would not have to worry about running short on ammunition for a very long time.
Besides the ammunition, he also found several cases of M26 and RGD-5 grenades.
The M26 was an older defensive grenade with an effective lethal radius of fifteen meters.
It was not as powerful as the M67, but it could still make up for some of their lack of heavy firepower during assaults.
Rivaldo and the other two were still outside interrogating the bald man.
Rock immediately stored half the weapons and ammunition in the armory inside his storage space.
He left five P90s, twelve FN57s, and only 10,000 rounds of SS190 armor-piercing ammunition outside. That was enough to fully re-equip both special operations squads.
Once Rivaldo and the others had inspected everything and were ready to leave the bar, Rock would stay behind and store the rest as well.
Later, he could simply make up an excuse and say he would send someone over to clean the place out.
Rock shouldered the M24 sniper rifle and walked out of the armory.
“Death No. 5, come into the bar for a moment.”
Rock left No. 6 outside on guard duty and called No. 5 in to change equipment.
Meanwhile, Rivaldo and the others had tied the bald man to a chair and were loudly pressing him for the information Rock wanted.
From the look of him, the bald man was already barely alive.
BOPE’s “plastic bag memory technique” really was vicious.
“Boss, we only managed to get the location of one stash of money out of him.”
