Seeing this, Bob and Bobby came over to help. They copied Liam and tried to push the other section of the house into place.

The two brothers pushed together, only to discover that it wouldn’t budge.

Their not-so-bright minds immediately became confused. In all their lives, this was the first time they had encountered something they couldn’t move.

“Let’s try again.”

“Okay.”

The two gritted their teeth and strained once more. Their already stocky bodies swelled as exaggerated muscles stood out beneath their clothes.

Using nothing but brute strength, they actually managed to make the house slowly roll forward.

The base of the mobile home had wheels, but it was still extremely heavy. Under normal circumstances, a vehicle would be needed to tow it into position.

Maria came over after hearing the commotion and covered her mouth in surprise at what she saw.

She knew her sons were strong, but she had never imagined they were this strong. Their strength had gone far beyond anything a normal human should possess.

Could there be something wrong with my cooking?

She began mentally reviewing her recipes.

No, that couldn’t be it. My grandmother taught me all those recipes, and nobody else in the family was ever this strong.

While Maria struggled to make sense of it, Liam began showing Bob and Bobby how to assemble the house.

Calling it assembly was almost an exaggeration. They were really just joining the two halves of the house together.

Once the simple foundation had been firmly set, they pushed both sections into position while Liam directed them until everything lined up properly.

Then Liam crawled underneath and bolted the floor frames together.

They laid waterproof sheeting over the roof, filled the seams along the exterior walls with sealant, then covered them with tape once the sealant had cured to keep out the wind.

After finishing the exterior, they moved inside.

They sealed the gaps in the floor, walls, and ceiling, installed trim over the seams, then laid down custom carpeting to hide the joints in the floor.

What surprised Liam was that although Bob and Bobby looked somewhat clumsy, they were remarkably good with their hands.

He only had to demonstrate each task once before they could do it easily themselves.

Combined with the fact that all three of them possessed stamina and strength far beyond ordinary people, they finished in a single afternoon what would normally have taken two or three days.

The last major step was securing the mobile home against strong winds.

Since the structure was relatively light, steel cables had to be fastened around it and connected to ground anchors on both sides. The anchors then had to be driven deep into the earth.

Normally, this was hard physical work that required special tools.

Liam and the brothers didn’t need any.

They simply slid an iron bar through the ring at the top of each anchor and twisted it straight into the ground.

Finally, they needed a set of steps at the entrance.

Finished staircases were available for purchase, but Liam saw no reason to waste money on one.

He nailed together a simple set out of wooden planks instead.

It wobbled a little, but it worked perfectly well.

With that done, the house was basically finished.

All that remained was to install skirting around the bottom and connect the water, electricity, and gas.

To Liam’s surprise, all three utilities were available here.

He hadn’t expected Goldman to have equipped the park so thoroughly.

Goldman had mentioned in passing that he had originally hoped to attract retirees and people struggling financially who wanted somewhere affordable to live.

Unfortunately, most of the people who actually showed up were complete lowlifes with every vice imaginable.

They weren’t just poor. They had terrible morals, poor judgment, and a habit of causing trouble.

Goldman wasn’t particularly brave, so he hadn’t dared demand rent from them.

Eventually, he used his connections to get the police to drive them out.

That had left the RV park nearly empty, which suited Liam perfectly.

The plot he had rented was secluded enough as well.

In a couple of days, he could move his own RV over here too.

Once the first house was finished, Liam looked up at the sky.

It was already dark.

The second one would have to wait until tomorrow.

Still, with one house completed, Maria’s family no longer had to sleep outside.

“Kids, this is our new home. Come take a look.”

“Yay!”

The children cheered and rushed inside, with Liam following behind them.

At first glance, the place looked pretty good.

Most of the basic furniture was already there.

Unfortunately, it was still a secondhand home, and the furnishings didn’t hold up nearly as well under closer inspection. The paint had worn off quite a few pieces.

On the bright side, there was no need to worry about formaldehyde anymore. The previous owner had already breathed it all in.

Maria and her sons came inside as well.

Bob and Bobby were curious about everything, but once they stepped inside, they discovered that their large builds made moving around extremely awkward.

Disappointed, they went back outside.

Maria, on the other hand, looked over the kitchen with satisfaction.

The appliances were simple, but they were far more convenient than cooking outside the RV.

Most importantly, there was a large oven, easily big enough to prepare food for more than a dozen children.

Liam headed into the bedrooms.

The children were already deciding who would sleep where based on who they usually spent time with.

“Don’t rush, kids. We’ll finish the other house tomorrow, and then we can sort out the rooms properly. For tonight, just squeeze in together.”

“Wow! We really get to stay in a room this big?”

“This mattress is so soft. It’s way better than straw.”

The house hadn’t come with bed frames, so the children were planning to sleep on mattresses on the floor.

Even such simple accommodations were enough to make them delighted.

Liam carefully looked over the children.

Strangely enough, they were recovering remarkably well.

Perhaps a little too well.

Only a few days had passed since their rescue, yet they already looked almost like ordinary healthy children.

For normal children who had gone through something like that, recovering within a few months would already have been considered impressive.

It seemed these children might have secrets of their own.

But Liam certainly wasn’t going to invite anyone from the Eastern European gang over to examine them.

Instead, he would have Charlotte come by from time to time to play with them and observe their condition while she was here.

That evening, Maria prepared a huge amount of food.

To celebrate the children moving into their new home, she made all kinds of special dishes.

After dinner, Bob and Bobby took most of the children outside to play.

Wilbur stayed behind with two other children to help Maria clean up.

Watching them, Liam asked,

“Maria, what do you think of the kids?”

Maria answered while washing the dishes.

“They’re all very well-behaved. Much better than most children their age. It’s hard to imagine what they must have gone through before this.”

Liam sighed.

He couldn’t tell Maria about all the terrible things involving Vampires.

That would only force the children to relive what had happened to them.

So he changed the subject.

“If you have time, I’d like you to teach them how to read and spell.”

“No problem.”

Maria didn’t find the request strange.

The children couldn’t attend school, and she was the only adult here capable of teaching them. Naturally, the responsibility would fall to her.

Liam felt incredibly fortunate that he had met this family.

Reliable, decent people were far too rare in this world.

Before bedtime, Liam went to each child’s sleeping spot and personally left a toy beside them.

Every one of the toys had been infused with his spiritual energy.

They would allow him to keep track of the children’s condition, and if something dangerous happened, they could also protect them.
