The Adjudicator.

Why were they here?

Honestly, whether in the movies from his previous life or in his current reality, there weren’t many people Nate genuinely hated from the bottom of his heart.

They were one of them.

Their haircut, their tone, their expressions, their posture, the way they acted. Every single thing about them managed to hit one of Nate’s nerves.

Still carrying his bow and arrows, Nate found a seat in the lobby.

He wanted to see exactly what this insufferably arrogant person had come here to do.

A little while later, Julius emerged from the manager’s office.

When he noticed Nate, he gave him a slight nod, and Nate returned the greeting.

Nate watched as Julius approached the Adjudicator with a grave expression.

“Welcome to the Rome Continental Hotel. What brings you here?”

The Adjudicator looked at him for a moment before replying expressionlessly,

“Are we going to stand here and talk?”

Julius’s expression didn’t change.

After a brief pause, he said,

“Then please follow me.”

Before Julius could even move, however, the Adjudicator walked straight past him and headed directly toward Nate.

The sharp click of their high heels against the marble floor, combined with that superior attitude of hers, made Nate increasingly uncomfortable.

He frowned as he watched the Adjudicator approach, their coat draped over their shoulders as usual.

They slowly sat down across from him.

Back perfectly straight, one leg crossed over the other, hands folded neatly on their lap.

Then they stared directly at Nate.

“Mr. Lin, I’m here to see you.”

Their voice was condescending and slightly androgynous.

Exactly as irritating as ever.

Great.

Even their voice annoyed him.

Nate took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, trying to suppress the disgust rising inside him.

“And what can I do for you, Your High-and-Mighty High Table representative?”

The Adjudicator froze.

A trace of anger immediately appeared on their face.

They lowered their head for a moment, visibly forcing themselves to calm down.

“You’re very rude, Mr. Lin.”

“Sorry. I’ve always been like this with people who mistake borrowed authority for actual importance.”

Nate stared directly back at them.

The Adjudicator lowered their head again.

Another silence followed.

They were still trying to contain their anger.

Nate, meanwhile, immediately felt better after getting that off his chest.

Then it clicked.

If he already hated this person that much, why bother holding back?

He might as well just curse them out.

“You have no man...”

“FUCKING %#@&¥#!!”

They had barely gotten a few words out before Nate drowned them out at an even higher volume.

“You ****! You ****! I’ll ** your ******!!”

Nate pointed straight at their face and unleashed a torrent of beautifully creative language that would have been censored almost anywhere.

His rant carried all the bottled-up frustration he had felt while watching the movies in his previous life.

He still couldn’t understand how this person had somehow survived the ending of the third movie.

So Nate kept going.

Angry, relentless, and constantly changing things up.

Different insults.

Different phrases.

Different dialects.

A completely one-sided verbal massacre.

Nate launched into another relentless barrage, barely pausing for breath.

The Adjudicator tried to cut in. “You...!”

Nate immediately drowned them out with another volley of insults.

The words came too fast for the Adjudicator to follow, but Nate’s tone made the meaning perfectly clear.

He could probably keep this up for half an hour without repeating himself.

Sometimes, the simplest methods were the most effective against someone this pretentious.

“¥%... &Y¥... &... !”

Nate kept going.

“I... you...”

The Adjudicator stammered helplessly.

They couldn’t even put together a complete sentence anymore.

Nate’s sheer momentum had completely overwhelmed them.

They had never experienced anything like this.

Normally, people either greeted them with grave expressions or dropped to their knees and begged for mercy.

They had spent far too long immersed in the authority granted to them by the High Table.

Someone pointing directly at their face and viciously cursing them out?

This was a first.

They completely lost their composure.

Nate kept pointing at their face, mercilessly attacking their character with one insult after another.

They couldn’t understand most of what he was saying, but they knew damn well none of it was flattering.

Worse, they couldn’t even get a word in.

The receptionist, Julius, and the surrounding attendants were all staring in complete disbelief.

None of them had ever seen anything like this either.

Seeing an Adjudicator in person was already rare.

Seeing one get cursed out like this was practically unimaginable.

The receptionist was already struggling to hold back her laughter as she quietly pulled out her phone and started recording.

Julius was perhaps the most shocked of all.

From where he stood, he had a perfect view.

The Adjudicator, who had been so domineering and aloof moments earlier, had uncrossed their legs.

Their chest was beginning to rise and fall rapidly.

Their fists were clenched tightly against their knees.

Their face went from pale, to red, then purple, and finally almost green.

Julius looked over at Nate, who was still enthusiastically unloading abuse, and sighed in amazement.

“I’ve never seen one person know this many swear words.”

He shook his head.

“Remarkable. Truly remarkable.”

The receptionist nodded enthusiastically.

“But it feels good to watch, doesn’t it?”

The Adjudicator finally reached their breaking point.

They shot to their feet and screamed at the absolute top of their lungs.

“ENOUGH!!!!”

Afterward, they stood there gasping heavily.

That single shout seemed to have drained all the strength from their body.

Whatever arrogance and elegance they had tried to maintain was long gone.

Nate waved over one of the attendants who had been watching the show while trying not to laugh.

He asked for a glass of champagne to soothe his throat.

Nate looked at the Adjudicator as he took a sip.

The sweet champagne slid down his throat like an ice-cold bottle of tea in the middle of a blazing summer afternoon.

For a moment, Nate felt as if his soul itself had been purified.

“That felt amazing~”

The Adjudicator finally recovered enough to fight back.

Unfortunately for them, their vocabulary was nowhere near Nate’s.

They pointed at him furiously.

“You are fucki...”

“Shut up!”

Before they could finish, Nate shot to his feet.

Moving faster than an ordinary person could react, he slapped them across the face.

Fast.

Hard.

Nate had even activated [Adrenaline Rush].

The Adjudicator was sent straight to the floor.

The attendant standing nearby with the drinks was so startled by Nate’s sudden movement that he lost control of his tray.

The champagne bottle tipped over.

Before it could hit the floor, Nate smoothly caught it.

He handed the bottle back to the attendant and patted him on the shoulder.

“Hold on to that.”

Then Nate turned toward the Adjudicator sprawled on the floor.

The Adjudicator lay there clutching their cheek, staring in disbelief.

After several seconds, they looked back at Nate.

Their eyes were red.

He could even see tears beginning to form.

They had never suffered humiliation like this in their life.

Nate said nothing.

He simply stood over them, looking down in complete silence.

Exactly the way they had looked down on others before.

Under Nate’s gaze, a chill gradually crept into the Adjudicator’s heart.

They were scared.

Avoiding his eyes, they lowered their head and silently got back to their feet.

Then they hurried toward the hotel entrance.

As they passed the reception desk and Julius, their expression remained completely blank.

They didn’t even look at either of them.

They simply walked straight outside.

After stepping down the hotel’s final stair, they covered their already swollen cheek and turned back to look at the building.

Then they turned away again.

“Nate Lin...”

“Rome Continental Hotel...”

Their voice was filled with hatred.

“Very good.”

“You’ve all done very well.”

“I’ll make you regret this!”

They strode away with absolute determination.

They were going to get reinforcements.

They were going to Japan.

The Adjudicator had only taken a few more steps when they suddenly felt something cold brush across their ankles.

Then both legs stopped responding.

They crashed helplessly to the ground.

Lying there in panic, they twisted around and looked behind them.

Two metal playing cards had come flying from somewhere and sliced through the tendons at the backs of their ankles.

The two gleaming golden cards were embedded halfway into the marble beside them, reflecting the sunlight.

Then a voice came from somewhere behind them.

“Adjudicator.”

“Did I say you could leave?”
