Rock searched the other side once more.

He finally found a safe and several computers in one of the offices.

In this age of technology, there’s no longer a need for all sorts of documents and paperwork like there used to be.

Basically, a cell phone and a computer can handle everything.

In Brazil, aside from the tribes deep in the Amazon rainforest, the rest of the country is entirely a tech-driven society.

Rock was becoming more and more aware of just how useful his storage space could be.

From Alessandro to the mustached broker just now, the advantages kept piling up.

As long as Rock got within five meters, taking away someone else’s weapon was effortless.

If he had a little less restraint, making a living person vanish would be just as easy.

Of course, someone who went in alive might not necessarily come back out that way.

Otherwise, Rock could stuff more than a hundred people into the storage space and release them behind the enemy in the middle of a fight. Now that would be a sight to behold.

Hmm. He really should test whether the storage space could hold living creatures.

Rock pulled out the contents of the safe and took a look. This hitman brokerage organization was surprisingly poor. The safe contained nothing but box after box of basic weapon kits.

Each set contained a Glock, two magazines, and a dagger. Stacked together, there were at least twenty or thirty sets.

The rest consisted of several hundred thousand reais and a few USB drives.

It seemed all the secrets were stored on those USB drives.

After searching the place, however, he still had not achieved his real objective.

Rock casually hoisted up the mustached broker, who was still limp from head to toe.

He used the man’s fingerprint to unlock the door leading to another corridor.

The burly man with the shotgun kept his eyes fixed on the doorway outside.

Hearing movement behind him, the man did not turn around. He merely straightened his back.

A moment later, he was astonished to discover that he could somehow see his own back.

And that was the end of him.

It seemed that the Turquoise Bar was unusually empty that afternoon.

Aside from the six people inside and the four outside, there was no one else there.

After making such thorough preparations, Rock felt as though he had thrown a full-power punch into a balloon.

There were so few people that he had handled the entire place by himself. His special operations squads had not been needed at all.

Rock dragged the burly shotgun wielder to the outer door and used the man’s still-warm hand to unlock it.

Then he lunged out like a bolt of lightning.

With reaction speed three times that of an ordinary person, along with several Master-level martial arts techniques for generating force, Rock moved before either guard could react.

His hands flashed out, and two knife-hand strikes slammed into the backs of the two burly guards’ heads.

Rock caught them as they went limp and gently lowered them beside the doorway.

Now only the two bartenders outside remained.

The bar counter occupied a strategic position. From behind it, the bartenders had a clear view both inside and outside the bar.

That meant Rock needed a little cooperation from his men.

Rock pulled out an earpiece and tapped the microphone five times.

The two bartenders immediately focused on the two fully armed special operations members outside. One of them pressed the alarm button beneath the counter.

He was probably trying to summon the men inside as backup.

Rock burst forward at a sprint and reached them in an instant, smashing an elbow into each man’s head.

Both bartenders collapsed at once. Before their vision went dark, neither realized that the men inside would never be coming to help them.

“Death Squad, Ghost Squad, remain on alert. Abyss Squad, move in and secure the scene.”

“Death Squad, copy that...”

“Ghost Squad, copy that...”

“Abyss Squad, copy that...”

The replies came back almost in unison through his earpiece.

A short while later, all six members of Abyss Squad jogged into the Turquoise Bar in tactical formation.

The door Rock had just come out of hadn’t even been closed.

They immediately helped Rock restrain the bartenders and the burly door guards outside, tying each man’s hands behind his back.

They shut the bar’s front door and hung up a Closed sign.

Now it was time to let the plastic bags jog a few memories.

Rock handed the bespectacled broker and the mustached broker over to several team members with BOPE backgrounds. Their task today was to find out which organization stood behind the bar.

They had expected taking the place to require a major assault. Instead, Rock had slipped inside alone and handled everything himself.

No one was particularly afraid of police from the affluent neighborhood next door causing trouble, but there was no reason to invite unnecessary complications.

Quietly taking control of the entire bar was the best possible outcome.

Rock left his men to interrogate the two brokers.

Then he turned his attention to the system interface.

All six enforcers had been killed, earning Rock three 50-point Experience Cards and two Skills.

Bartending: Advanced (385/1000)

IPSC (Practical Shooting) Shotgun Rapid Fire: Intermediate (312/400). Rock had not expected one of these men to be a competitive shooting enthusiast, perhaps even a professional.

After all, the Skill was already close to the Advanced level.

That alone showed how much effort its original owner had put into it.

IPSC, the International Practical Shooting Confederation, is a dynamic shooting sport built around speed, accuracy, and firepower.

It grew out of U.S. military and police training in the 1950s and formally became an international competition in 1976.

Its core is engaging multiple targets accurately in the shortest possible time across simulated real-world scenarios, with scoring based on both accuracy and time.

The Shotgun Rapid Fire Skill had probably dropped from the burly man who had been carrying the shotgun inside.

If Rock had not approached him from inside the bar, taking him down might have been slightly more difficult.

People who trained seriously in this kind of competitive shooting generally fired very quickly.

That was especially true when the shooter was using a short-barreled shotgun.

In a confined space like a bar corridor, the weapon had a natural advantage.

Fortunately, Rock had dealt with him without much effort.

The Bartending Skill had probably come from one of the enforcers who also worked part-time behind the bar.

Judging from the Skill level, he had been quite good at it.

That gave Rock another minor Skill he could enjoy in his spare time.

Rock put the remaining 150 experience points into Demolition.

Demolition: Advanced (953/1000)

As for the two bartenders outside, they were only semi-professionals, so Rock had merely knocked them unconscious.

Now they too were inside enjoying Abyss Squad’s interrogation methods.

The bar’s six specially built soundproof meeting rooms made perfect interrogation rooms for the four prisoners.

Extracting confessions and intelligence was not just a BOPE specialty. The paratroopers and GATE members in the squads were no less capable.

As a result, screams kept ringing through the rooms.

Outside, however, almost nothing could be heard.

After Rock finished allocating his Skills and experience points, he picked up one of the USB drives.

He found a computer and disconnected every network cable.

Only then did he plug in the USB drive.

In the internet age, there were too many ways for information to leak or systems to be compromised.

Rock could only do his best to avoid being discovered or traced from outside.

Once he opened the USB drive, however, he realized he had underestimated these hitman brokers.

Every USB drive was password-protected.

To solve that problem, Rock had two options. One was to find hackers capable of cracking the passwords.

The other was to recruit a skilled hacker of his own.

So far, he had not encountered anyone with that kind of talent.

Attorney Jonas’s side was the only place where there seemed to be people with relevant skills.

Those people were currently allies, but Rock still could not trust them completely.

For now, he could only toss the USB drive into his storage space and let it gather dust.

He would open it once the right opportunity came.

By then, though, whatever was inside might no longer be worth anything.
