“Are you sure?”

Rock looked at Ferreira with an amused smile.

“Of course...” Ferreira hesitated, suddenly suspicious of that expression just as he was about to continue.

“Instructor Rivaldo, Mr. Locke’s smile looks like it has quite a story behind it.”

Seeing the conversation turn toward him, Rivaldo cleared his throat and pretended to remain calm as he faced Ferreira with a serious expression.

“Commander Ferreira, I think our boss is simply very happy to play a few matches against you.”

Inside, Rivaldo was screaming, Here we go. The boss is about to teach someone another lesson. Poor Commander Ferreira isn’t going to get taken out the moment the match starts, is he?

Rivaldo knew Ferreira’s combat ability very well. He was around Rivaldo’s own level, which meant putting him in front of Rock was basically hopeless.

Rock glanced at Rivaldo’s tightly clenched hand and knew how hard he was struggling to hold himself back.

As a kindhearted boss, Rock naturally could not let his subordinate suffer too much. “Rivaldo, what’s wrong with your hand?”

“Ah... cough... I just can’t wait to show the BOPE brothers what the guys from Angel Defense can do. I’m excited. I’m just too excited.”

Rivaldo nearly choked on Rock’s question and hurriedly came up with an excuse.

But the look he gave Rock carried a trace of resentment, almost as if he were asking, Boss, is this really necessary? We’re on the same side.

The moment Rock put an arm around his shoulder, however, all of that resentment vanished.

At Ferreira’s invitation, each side sent a four-man tactical team into the CQB training ground.

This kind of match focused mainly on assault teams, so no snipers were included.

Both sides used almost identical weapons, short-barreled M4 assault rifles.

Ferreira selected several veteran BOPE instructors.

Rock brought Rivaldo and the Cassiano brothers.

Fabio, Cassiano’s younger brother, usually kept a low profile, but he was actually one of the best among this group of retired BOPE members.

During previous internal training with the special operations squads, he had already shown exceptional coordination with Cassiano.

That was why Rock brought the three of them. He intended to give Ferreira a proper lesson.

Winning someone’s respect in a fight was far more effective than any amount of flattering words.

They had originally planned to buy some blank training rounds from BOPE, but with Ferreira personally taking part in the match, there was no longer any question of buying them.

BOPE kept a dedicated supply of training blanks. Unlike ordinary blank rounds, which contained only propellant, these had pigment packed into the projectile section.

The propellant could launch them out to around twenty meters.

They were called blank rounds, but at close enough range they could still cause injuries.

So before the two teams entered the CQB training ground, everyone put on full protective gear.

In addition to body armor, elbow pads, and knee pads, they wore full-face protective ballistic helmets.

A BOPE member served as referee, while members from both sides climbed to elevated positions to watch the showdown between the two elite teams.

The two squads took positions at entrances on opposite sides of the training ground. Then the referee blew his whistle.

Rock and Ferreira led their respective teams charging into the training area.

To the people watching from above, both tactical teams moved extremely fast.

Their movements as they alternated positions and covered one another were smooth and practiced.

But on closer inspection, Rock’s team transitioned even more fluidly.

Compared with Ferreira’s side, Rock did not merely complete his own tactical movements. During each transition, he physically helped accelerate his teammates’ repositioning and movement changes as well.

Everyone watching from above held their breath as the two tactical squads rapidly closed the distance.

They had to clear and search the rooms while also watching for where the opposing team might suddenly appear.

From above, both squads could be seen rotating around Rock and Ferreira as their respective centers.

They looked like two small tornadoes.

Rock had already built deep coordination with Rivaldo and the others through several real battles.

With his Master-level Comprehensive CQB skill driving the entire team’s movement,

Rock’s squad spotted the enemy first.

What happened next became the beginning of one of Ferreira’s most miserable memories.

The instant Ferreira caught sight of Rock’s team, before he could even pull the trigger, several shots had already cracked out.

“Bang, bang, bang!” All three shots struck the helmets of Ferreira’s teammates.

In a single instant, Ferreira’s tactical squad was reduced to one lone survivor hiding around a corner.

Before that last man could fight back, Rock had already led his team charging forward. He leaned around the corner and eliminated him with a single shot.

Ferreira stood there slightly dazed. The result had come far too quickly.

The two sides had not even been given a real chance to exchange fire.

Refusing to accept it, Ferreira led his squad into two more matches against Rock.

The result did not change at all.

Even Rivaldo and Cassiano wore bitter smiles.

They had expected exactly this.

Following the boss was certainly comfortable, but sometimes he did not even leave them scraps. They were simply being carried to victory.

Eventually, Ferreira removed his ballistic helmet in frustration and announced that he was switching people.

He climbed to a high position beside the training ground. This time, Ferreira intended to watch with his own eyes exactly how Rock’s side was moving.

Another four-man BOPE squad took its place at the opposite entrance of the CQB training ground.

“How are you guys doing? Need a break?”

Rock turned toward Rivaldo and the others.

“Other than this thing being a little stuffy, I haven’t used any real effort at all.”

Rivaldo tapped the heavy helmet on his head.

Cassiano and Fabio both nodded in agreement.

Cassiano grinned and made a request. “Boss, can you let one or two through so we can have some fun?”

“Don’t even think about it until I’ve gone through everyone on the other side once.”

Rock removed his magazine, glanced at it, then inserted it again.

Across three matches, he had maintained a pace of one shot for every person he eliminated. Half the magazine was still full of training rounds, more than enough to deal with several more squads.

After watching Rock crush the squad led by their commander with their own eyes,

the other BOPE members became fired up.

Only by facing an opponent who put them under real pressure could they improve further.

So they eagerly lined up for their turns, wanting to experience the pressure Rock brought for themselves.

Rock showed no mercy, leading Rivaldo and the others as they rapidly dismantled one BOPE squad after another.

From his elevated position beside the training ground, Ferreira finally realized that compared with Rock,

every BOPE member there, including Ferreira himself, looked like a kindergarten child.

As Ferreira watched carefully, he noticed that every one of Rock’s tactical movements was simple and effective.

There were no flashy moves or dramatic combat poses.

There were only fundamental tactical movements, executed with such precision that not a trace of energy was wasted.

The entire process flowed smoothly from finding the enemy to eliminating them.

Even with training rounds, Rock’s shooting remained flawless within twenty meters.

Every shot struck a helmet.

He kept up that rhythm, one “kid” per shot, until he had run through every BOPE combat squad.
