While Blake, Mia, and their mothers were returning to Phoenix...
At the Suns’ training facility, Curry and George were already hard at work, determined to improve and become stronger.
Yao Ming, who had recently joined the team, was also keeping up with his basic daily training routine.
At the same time, however, he was spending even more time continuing his physical recovery.
For Yao, staying healthy was far more important than sharpening his basketball skills.
Meanwhile, with Summer League over, most trades nearing completion, teams largely finished strengthening their rosters, and vacations coming to an end, players around the league had begun returning to training.
Everyone wanted to get stronger.
During the season that had just ended, “The Emperor” Blake had embraced an extreme individual style as a rookie and led the Suns to the championship.
That alone showed just how dominant Blake had been.
At the same time, however, it left many of the league’s stars, even its superstars, feeling humiliated.
There were so many talented players in the NBA, yet in the end, a rookie had stolen the spotlight and taken the championship trophy from all of them.
How could they accept that?
Next season, they were determined to take back what they had lost!
...
Back to Blake.
After the group returned to Phoenix, they first went back to Blake’s smaller villa.
Around the same time, Suns owner Robert Sarver sent someone over with a set of keys.
They were the keys to the $40 million mansion he had previously promised Blake.
“Come on. Let’s go check it out!”
Blake waved for everyone to follow.
The four of them went with the real estate agent to see the property.
To be honest, Blake, Mia, Dolores, and Charlotte had no real idea what a $40 million mansion was supposed to look like.
They only knew it was incredibly expensive.
So when their car drove down a road lined with lush trees and they finally caught their first glimpse of the mansion...
They were stunned.
Huge.
That was the only thought running through all four of their minds.
The $40 million property was far, far larger than any of them had imagined.
“This... this is way too big!”
Dolores exclaimed, her eyes widening.
Charlotte stared in disbelief, instinctively covering her open mouth.
“I can’t even see where it ends. Just how big is this place?!
“It has to be at least ten times the size of our house. Maybe even more!”
“Damn, I never knew people lived like this!”
Even Blake, who carried memories from two lifetimes, stared around like someone seeing luxury for the first time, taking in the enormous property with amazement.
Mia blinked her large eyes and stood there speechless for a moment.
Then she murmured, “It’s... so big. Cleaning this place must be a nightmare.”
“Hehe~”
Blake couldn’t help laughing.
Everyone else was amazed by how luxurious and enormous the mansion was, yet somehow Mia’s first concern was cleaning it.
A moment later, the real estate agent began leading them around the property while explaining its features.
They learned that the estate covered approximately 3,100 square meters and included twelve bedrooms, along with a private theater.
There was also a game room, a billiards room, a private bar, two swimming pools, four large bathrooms, and four enormous outdoor terraces.
Naturally, there were also multiple studies, kitchens, living rooms, and other spaces throughout the house.
The property also had eight parking spaces.
Outside, there was a private basketball court and a small soccer field about the same size.
The courtyard was filled with trees and greenery, giving the entire property fresh, clean air.
Two sides of the estate faced the water, with downtown Phoenix visible in the distance across it.
Another side bordered dense woodland.
From the outdoor terraces, they could simply sit back and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
More importantly, unlike most luxury neighborhoods where massive homes were packed relatively close together, only a handful of residences stood anywhere near this property.
That privacy and quiet atmosphere were among its biggest attractions.
For countless people, it would be the perfect vacation home.
Then again...
It was worth $40 million.
After the tour, the real estate agent handed Blake a folder containing the property documents, along with a set of keys and a business card.
“Mr. Blake, everything related to the property is included in this folder.
“From this moment on, the estate belongs entirely to you.
“If you ever have any questions, please contact the property management staff listed on this card. We’ll assist you as quickly as possible.
“We hope you enjoy your new home. Goodbye.”
With that, the agent left.
Once she was gone, Charlotte smiled and sighed.
“A place this enormous is worth forty million dollars, and they just gave it to you?
“Are NBA owners really that rich?”
“I was thinking the same thing.”
Dolores nodded in amazement.
“The lives rich people live really are hard to imagine.”
“That’s not the whole story.”
Mia immediately jumped in.
“NBA owners are definitely rich, but the reason they were willing to give Blake such an incredible mansion is because Blake is that valuable.
“The Suns owner wanted to keep him, so he offered him this place.
“Other owners even tried offering him luxury cars, private jets, and one of them practically offered him an entire high-speed rail line.”
“Really?!”
Charlotte and Dolores were stunned all over again.
“Of course.”
Mia lifted her chin proudly.
“Blake is amazing~”
“Blake really has done incredibly well.”
Charlotte took Dolores’s hand and smiled.
“You must be so happy to have a son like him.”
“Hehe~”
Dolores smiled warmly.
“Mia will be just as successful one day.
“Besides... before too long, won’t we all be one family anyway?”
As she finished speaking, the two women turned toward Blake and Mia.
Blake smiled.
Mia lowered her head shyly.
Blake chuckled.
“Alright, let’s not get into that right now.
“Let’s explore the place ourselves for a while.
“In a few days... we can move in and stay here for a bit.”
That said, when Blake talked about moving in, what he really meant was letting Dolores and Charlotte stay there for a while and enjoy themselves.
As for him, he still needed to train.
The vacation mansion was about a two-hour drive from the Suns’ training facility, which made commuting inconvenient.
So Blake planned to continue living at the smaller villa.
As for Mia, there was no need to ask.
She would naturally stay with Blake, especially since she was about to begin livestreaming and had everything set up at the smaller villa.
Besides, the mansion was ultimately meant as a vacation property.
Living there permanently wouldn’t necessarily be ideal.
There was another issue as well.
Blake wanted Dolores and Charlotte to stop working entirely and simply enjoy the rest of their lives.
Neither woman wanted that.
They felt that after a while, doing nothing every day would become boring.
They were still relatively young and wanted some kind of work or activity to keep their lives fulfilling.
After thinking it over, Blake had to admit they had a point.
