Luke watched Ellie’s reaction from the corner of his eye.

Damn.

This girl was interesting.

He hadn’t kept it up for long, but it seemed Ellie’s preferences were already beginning to show at this point.

“You bastard. Always messing around!” Ada got up and moved to another seat.

Of course he had to start doing things that weren’t exactly appropriate in front of a kid.

Ada glanced at Ellie, and Ellie instinctively turned her head away.

“Anyway, he’s never serious about anything. That’s just how he is.” Ada sighed.

Her reputation had been completely ruined by Luke.

The helicopter landed back in the Commonwealth.

Luke first took Ada home and made sure she was settled in.

“Starting today, you’re not going to work. And don’t even think about going out to fight monsters. If you get into a fight now, it counts as two against one, got it?” Luke declared.

“Just stay home and take care of yourself.”

Two against one, my ass!

Ada rolled her eyes at him.

He always had some dumb joke ready.

And it wasn’t funny at all.

...

After settling Ada in, Luke didn’t forget why he had come back.

He took Ellie to Jade.

“Where’s Rahim?”

Luke hadn’t seen the kid in a while.

Jade was wearing an army-green tank top that showed off a generous amount of cleavage. She stepped aside and gestured for Luke to come in.

Her place was fairly large, with three bedrooms. Normally, only she and Rahim lived there. Since they didn’t have to pay rent anyway, they had never bothered finding anyone to occupy the spare rooms.

“Rahim got himself a girlfriend. He’s hardly ever home anymore.”

Jade leaned against the table with her legs lightly crossed. They were long, lean, and visibly strong.

Ellie quietly stole a few glances at her.

Jade had tanned skin and a slim, well-proportioned build. Her abs were clearly defined, and whenever she flexed her arms even slightly, the results of years of training were obvious.

Another beautiful woman!

Why were there so many attractive women around this guy?

“Well, I guess that settles it. I’ll arrange a separate place for Rahim later. After all... ahem.”

Luke decided not to elaborate.

People here were pretty open about that kind of thing, and Rahim was a healthy young man in his prime. Of course he was going to bring his girlfriend home now and then.

Having his older sister around would only make things awkward.

Jade gave Luke a strange look.

“No wonder that kid is always talking about you. You two really are cut from the same cloth.”

She strode over to the refrigerator and pulled out a can of beer.

“Perfect timing. Want to have some?”

But Jade clearly wasn’t just inviting him for a drink.

“Right now?”

“Who knows where you’ll disappear to the next time I want to find you? Besides, it’s been a while since I’ve had that kind of relaxation.” Jade was completely blunt about it. “I’m only looking to unwind. Don’t expect anything after that.”

Luke pulled out a chair and sat down.

“Let’s deal with business first. Ellie needs someone to teach her close-quarters combat, and guess who immediately came to mind?”

Jade stared into his eyes, then curled her lips.

“Fine.”

“Then it’s settled!”

Luke picked up a beer.

“As for the other thing, let’s save it for another time. We’ll find a chance later. Right now isn’t ideal.”

Jade stepped around Luke and blocked the doorway.

“I don’t think the two of us have ever really talked this through, so let me make something clear...”

Jade leaned against the door and gestured for Ellie to close herself inside the spare room.

Ellie: “...”

What the hell was going on?

Ellie obediently shut the door, then looked around at the random clutter filling the room.

Once Jade was sure Ellie wouldn’t interrupt them, she casually pulled off her tank top.

“...Let me make this perfectly clear. When I tell you I’m fine with it, you shut up and accept it. You’ve already got enough women to worry about. I’m not going to cling to you afterward. I just want to relax.”

Jade planted a hand against Luke’s chest and shoved him back onto the table.

Bottles and cans scattered across the floor.

“Holy shit! What are you doing?”

Luke was genuinely caught off guard.

He barely even interacted with Jade.

What the hell was this?

Wasn’t Jade supposed to like Crane?

Jade grabbed Luke by the collar and pulled him closer.

“What am I doing? You, obviously! And it’s your own fault. You raised my standards so high that every time I meet another man, I automatically compare him to you!”

“So instead of wasting time, I might as well come straight to the source. You haven’t been completely drained yet, have you? Don’t disappoint me!”

With that, she immediately started tugging at his pants.

“Hey, hey, Jade, come on! Ellie’s still here!” Luke hurriedly protested.

“Then move. You’re coming with me.”

Jade grinned, grabbed Luke by the collar, and forcibly dragged him into her room.

Three hours later.

Luke was unceremoniously kicked out of bed.

Luke: “???”

Why did he suddenly feel like, for the first time in his life, he had been completely used?

Jade lay comfortably on the bed, the sheet covering half her body.

After years of training, she had the strong, toned build of someone who stayed in excellent shape.

“I haven’t felt this relaxed in a long time. You can leave now. I’ll take care of the girl.”

Jade propped her head up with one hand and looked down at Luke on the floor.

No wonder so many women liked him.

He really did help her unwind.

All the stress she had built up over time had finally been released.

“Huh?”

Luke stared at her blankly.

“Isn’t that a little cold?”

“Oh. Sorry, I didn’t think that through!”

Jade slapped her forehead, got out of bed, opened the door, and walked outside.

Ellie was rummaging through the refrigerator.

She was thirsty and wanted something to drink.

Then she suddenly sensed someone approaching from behind.

“I... I was just checking if there was...”

Ellie turned around.

The rest of the sentence died in her throat.

Holy shit!

Holy shit?!

Shit!

Jade noticed the can of beer in Ellie’s hand.

She opened the refrigerator again, pulled out a Coke, and swapped it for the beer.

“You’re not old enough for that. You drink this. Give me the beer.”

Jade walked back toward the bedroom.

Ellie stared after her and swallowed.

This place was...

Heaven.

She knew it!

All the crap she had suffered through had finally earned her some kind of reward!

Exactly!

Jade returned to the room and frowned when she saw Luke was still there.

“Alright. Here’s your payment. You did pretty well today.”

She shoved the can of beer into Luke’s hand.

Luke: “???”

Wait a second.

What the hell did she think he was?

Was his chastity really worth one can of beer?

“Not enough? You greedy little thing. Fine, one last reward.”

Jade caught Luke by the chin and kissed him.

Luke barely managed to pull himself free.

Five minutes later.

Luke stood outside the apartment holding his clothes, having effectively been thrown out, with that single can of beer still in his hand as payment.

No.

Something was wrong here.

Luke’s brain felt like it had stopped working.

Did he need to put more points into Intelligence?

Had the great Luke actually gotten used for free?

“Whoa! Luke, what are you doing here?”

Rahim came back with his arm around his girlfriend.

As he approached the door, he noticed a man standing outside his home without even wearing his pants.

His first instinct was to bristle.

Then the man turned around.

It was Luke.

Oh.

It was Luke.

Never mind, then.

“Uh... your... your sister... you guys...”

Luke struggled for words.

“Forget it. There’s no way I can explain this to you.”

For perhaps the first time in his life, Luke completely lost the ability to organize a sentence.

He got dressed and left.

Rahim stood there, thoroughly confused.

He was leaving already?

Wasn’t he going to come inside and hang out for a while?
