Visual Update Phase 1 Comes Out TOMORROW! (Patreon)
Content
My dearest readers, hello!
It's almost time! Just one more day and we'll publish the newest build of the game with the first batch of new art. Beyond reminding you of this momentous occasion, I want to take this opportunity to clarify a few important points!
First of all, the new build will go live on Itch.io tomorrow with the new art and with all the content that is currently available for the public — which means it will have the first two builds of Chapter 20. Shortly after (or perhaps simultaneously) we'll post a build here that will also include the later Chapter 20 releases, so that you can play it with dilukha's gorgeous new UI.
And that leads us to our second point, which is that the new art — the UI, the backgrounds, the sprites — will show up all across the game. Though this release focuses on the initial chapters, make no mistake, you'll see the new art frequently. As far the main cast is concerned, this means you'll be seeing a lot of Argos, Kota, Luke and Robert in their VU glory on the backdrop of Faun's, Kinutao's and Bork's incredible backgrounds.
In particular you might want to check out the Pool R&D event and see how they all look with swimsuits!
Returning to the early stages of the game for a moment, one of the less visible highlights is that we've added new expressions to characters who previously did not emote.
You'll be seeing Asterion displaying a range of emotions across his many stages of healing...
...as well as Greta, finally, failing to wink!
Tomorrow will be a very special day for us and I hope you'll be there to once more enjoy Minotaur Hotel from the beginning! We'll be looking forward to your feedback!
Now, right afterwards we'll be taking a break to assess the VU's reception and rest. This last stretch was very intense and we're giving ourselves some well-deserved time off.
Once we're back we'll get to work on the last build of Chapter 20 — which sadly will not be coming out in March as originally planned, because the last stretch of the VU ended up being an all-hands-on-deck moment. We'll have more news about the precise timeline for the release later down the road.
See you tomorrow!
