Welcome back to Uthman's new favorite Kdrama familia! 😂 We are continuing Weak Hero Class 1 with episode 4! 🙌

So the last episode was intense and probably our favorite so far!

We learned a lot about the gang boss Gil-su and his whole illegal operation of using online gambling to get kids to work for him and take their parents possessions.

And the episode ended with Su-ho and Beom-seok being kidnapped. 😭 We are curious where they are going and if Su ho is okay because he got beat up really bad last episode..

We also saw a lot of character development from the girl in the gang, Yeong i. She's the one that told Si-eun all about how Gil-su's illegal operation works. In hopes that he goes to jail and shes freed from him....

Question of the Day: Which character do you hate the most from this K-drama?

I spent the whole day waiting for this moment. Here we go!!!

Min

and then it begins

The favorite moment in this drama for me will always be seeing Si-Eun smile for the first time because of Su-Ho...it melts my heart QOTD: I just HATE Young-Bin...he is such a coward and an evil one

Po

We need to watch 2521 suho is in that too!!!!

Shadow Glow

A roller coaster of emotions! Every episode is so full of action and surprises, there isn't a boring moment. I can see why people like it so much, me included. Now a comment that has nothing to do with the episode, but I think the actor who plays Su-ho (Hyunwook) looks a lot like Park Seo-joon. It's like I'm seeing a younger version, he could literally be his younger brother lol

simran

bruh that's so true...he gives me a combination of Seo-jun and Wooshik

mitzy

yes!!

Get ready familia, it only gets better

CoolCoolCool

his first smile was directed at Suho, my heart.....'bromance', sureee let's call it that...

CoolCoolCool

well, get ready familia, it's going to be a roller coaster from here, you haven't seen anything yet

lexie

they actually confirmed in a press conference that sieun and suho's characters fell in love wt eo and it was supposed to be a boy love story but i guess bc of korea's conservative nature, they left it purely as bromance in the show.

CoolCoolCool

i think they still did a good job showing it though, it's subtle but at the same time loud(?), idk how how to explain it...

lexie

completely agree yea like i remember when i first watched it i caught on so quick during this ep where sieun only had eyes for suho and suho's little jealousy moment when the girl hugged him. they kept it very subtle but obvious. the longing stares is what convinced me there was smthg there until we finally got confirmation n i was like "yup knew it lol"

simran

i think in the Manhwa it was love between them....and in drama they did it veryyyy subtly...but really welll...that yes you feel the special bond between them

bub

im so happy you guys are loving the show! imo its one of the best written dramas out there, i think the characters all feel realistic! it only gets crazier from here LOL

Hello guyss! The manhwa (webtoon) was not a BL (boy love) story at all. Yes, they share a really, really close bond and they care for each other deeply, but it was not a romantic love. I guess people just interpret it and romanticize it the way they like to, but the story was not like that at all. It was more platonic and focused on loyalty in their relationship. It stresses what the story wants to say the "Not all love is romantic". Yes, they ARE in love, but not in a romantic way. I love the manhwa btw, and this series made me obsessed with both the Kdrama and the manhwa 💜

Hi familia! I'm rewatching one of my fave Kdramas ever with you again. I think you both are always one of the best, if not the best, companions/reactors to Kdramas. I just love watching with you, familia! And I really waited for this episode, it's my favorite since it's the FIRST time Si-eun smiled so sweetly, my heart skipped a beat again. Can't wait for the next episode, familia 💜

And I just want to put it here in relation to the other comments 😊, the manhwa (webtoon) Weak Hero was not a BL (boy love) story at all. Yes, they share a really, really close bond (Si-eun and Suho's characters) and they care for each other deeply, but it was not a romantic love. I guess people just interpret it and romanticize it the way they like to, but the story was not like that at all. It was more platonic and focused on loyalty in their relationship. The director or story writer in the conference said “in love” and then the cast started smiling n giggling bc it was obvious that it referred to romantic love. They were visibly shy about it. It’s ok to have ur own interpretation but I’m just having my own as well with what I saw n heard from the creators with my own eyes.

CoolCoolCool

I get where you’re coming from, and I agree that not all love has to be romantic. That said, both the director and the actors have mentioned that the relationship was closer to romantic love than purely platonic, and the director specifically used the term “첫사랑” (first love). As a Korean term, I’ve personally never seen it used in a purely platonic context. of course people can interpret their bond differently if that feels more comfortable for them. I haven’t read the manhwa myself, so I can’t say anything definitive there , only that I’ve heard it’s implied their bond goes beyond friendship. Ultimately, I think different interpretations can coexist, and that’s part of why the story resonates with so many people.

Ramsha😔☺️

'He's so wholesome ' yes uthman he sure is !

Ramsha😔☺️

The only time Si Eun smiled was cus of su hoo, this smile has a special place in my heart ❤️

J-Lee

Yep, that's why I said "I guess people interpret and romanticize it the way they want to". The director's comments nor the actors weren't proof to say it was indeed and in fact 'romantic' as the story was originally from the manhwa, in which the AUTHOR had stressed the powerful msg they would like to deliver that not all love is romantic. I think it's just not proper to kinda spread them being romantic as viewers would already perceive their sexuality when it wasn't due. Nevertheless, Si-eun and Suho's relationship and deep friendship was in depth and admirable in any ways.

ilays

Jihoon was DIRECTED to act as if Suho is Sieun's first love throughout the show. It doesn't matter what the original material and author intended if how the actors for the series were directed differently. Also, in the original source material, both Sieun and Suho canonically got homophobic comments based on their relationship when they were being bullied, so yes, not all love is romantic, but in both source materials, it’s implied. Not everything needs to be spelled out for it to be true; it's contextual literacy.

ilays

Mind you, I can literally flip everything you said around and gather evidence that it was in fact romantic love, and we'll just go in circles. Let's just respect each other's interpretations instead of telling them what it is and isn't. To you, it seems like I'm romanticizing their relationship, and to me, you come across as trying to force them into the "just friends" box to avoid acknowledging the clear romantic subtext between them. Because apparently, for two men to have feelings for each other in a piece of media, it has to be labeled as "BL" for it to be valid.

omg i was mid bite when you shouted out "for kim taehyung", that took me out lmaooo
