Question of the day: Are you familiar with Jung-hwa? If you are, where do you know her from?

Back with our favorite talk show with our favorite host Mr. Min Yoongi, episode 22 of Suchwita.

In this episode Suga introduced us to a icon singer, actress, (and almost Bang Shi Hyuk's wife) Uhm Jung-hwa. ✨ 😂

Through Suga and Jung-hwa's beautiful conversation we got to learn that Jung-hwa has been in the industry for over 30 years, and even though she debuted the same year Yoongi was born, the way they connected and related over their careers felt so natural.

You could see the genuine respect between them. Of course Suge encouraged her to create more music while she reminded Suga that BTS can keep going as long as they want to. #bangtanforever!! 💜 🫰

We love Suchwita 😭 we always leave each episode with a nice message and we hope you also take something away from it too familia. Hope you enjoy, love you! 💜

Some people might not know this about Uhm Jung Hwa but she had thyroid cancer and she couldn't even speak for some time. She's so inspiring. I'm really hoping we get a suchwita season 2 because Suga is just THAT host.

Uhm Jung Hwa is truly amazing, kind and inspiring. She oozes with hotness but never vulgar. She's a total performer who sucks us into her world whenever she's on stage in a very good epic way. She's also a great actress who can easily portray any character regardless of age and provides phenomenal chemistry with her co-actors as well. She deserves the title Queen both in music, movies and tv series. I'm not a huge fan but I know, respect and love her as artist and person. 💓 She is really outstanding personality. But I think not much people know her aside SK or Asia, so I want to add a cut from article I read about her. '... Uhm Jung Hwa has been widely recognized as a pioneering figure promoting female independence and empowerment in SK entertainment industry. She broke away from traditional portrayals of women in Korean pop culture by embracing boldness, confidence, and self-expression both on and off the stage. Early in her career during the 1990s, Uhm challenged the image of women as passive and submissive, instead embodying a strong, sensual, and assertive persona that opened doors for future female artists. Her screen roles further reinforced this image portraying modern Korean femininity that resists conventional expectations around marriage, motherhood, and female subservience. Also her public battle with thyroid cancer added another powerful layer to her role as an emblem of strength and self-empowerment for women. Facing vocal cord paralysis the threat to her career as a singer, she persevered with relentless rehabilitation, embodying courage and resilience in the face of adversity. Her openness about vulnerability and recovery challenged societal stigmas around illness and womanhood, inspiring countless fans and women confronting their own struggles to find their voices — both literally and metaphorically. Through decades of reinvention and refusal to be defined by age, illness, or stereotypes, Uhm Jung Hwa continues to embody and promote female empowerment that extends beyond entertainment into cultural and social influence across generations of women in Korea and internationally.' ... cr. Oncodaily Sorry for long comment 😅 and thank you Familia for your reaction and genuine interest in conversation and personality such artist as Uhm Jung Hwa. 💜🥰👍

Bulletproof Girl

I watched Doctor Cha as soon as it was released on Netflix. It was in the top 10 and one of thr highest rated shows. Very entertaining and satisfying to watch. I also saw her in other kdramas like A Witch's Love with Park Seo-jun (Wooga Squad), and Our Blues (Jimin released an OST for this). You know what's shocking familia? I had absolutely no idea that she was a singer until I watched this Suchwita episode of her way back.
