Fun fact, they had to change positions in Adoru U and make the formations wider after years, because the boys got bulky with muscles 💪 and they needed more space for transitions

dee

yeayy thank you familia! so excited to watch this!! qotd: the first member that caught my attention is of course jeonghan hahah and he's been my bias since i can remember 😆 (probably since pretty u since thats when i discovered them and then fell in love with him more when i heard him in 20 hahah 🙂‍↕️)

ann (without an e)

Yeah Dino has always been a rapper in SVT. S.Coups even said Vernon and Dino's rap parts are the hardest to cover among the members, because they write such difficult flows

dee

thats true, marisol. seventeen did everything they could to promote themselves to show that they are so versatile and can do anything. you would see them with performance videos like this, switch version of dance practice, swith units and more. they really pushed the three units in one group image that can do anything despite being from a fairly small company.

It was Dino who led me to SEVENTEEN. While looking into the best dancers, I realized that Dino goes beyond K-pop. I have very professional friends who are deeply interested in the performing arts, opera, and dance. I love doing research, and once my own tastes and perspective were supported by my friends, Dino became the best dancer for me from that point on—and that’s how I discovered he was in SEVENTEEN. I was fairly new to K-pop at the time, only into it for about a year or two. The people around me mostly listened to Stray Kids, BLACKPINK, and BTS, so I started listening to them too. Because it was mainstream, I used to think BTS was the best. But over time, I discovered people around me who had been listening to this music for years. I asked for recommendations, and they told me without a doubt that I shouldn't waste any more time and that SEVENTEEN was the absolute best. And I heard this more than once. However, I hadn't given SEVENTEEN a chance until I saw Dino, and now I feel like I wasted two years, which makes me so angry. Later on, I couldn't believe the musicality, vocals, performances, and the success and organization of such a large team. I can now confidently say that SEVENTEEN is the best among all groups in the K-pop industry, because after that, I became more open-minded and listened to many other groups. Right now, no one can make me think otherwise. I hope SEVENTEEN continues to defy eternity ✊they are better than everyone else. Also, Dokyeom, I love you😘. And Minghao, you too, of course 😄

dee

speaking of wonu's stage presence, uthman you NEED to watch this!!! https://youtu.be/kNAqECCizBA?si=nhw3JoPQNJ7LrmDG its from the same diamond edge concert in seoul. this performance of him was so gaggy everyone just couldn't believe its him! he's such a great performer and actor.

dee

one funny fact is that hoshi badly wanted vernon in performance team because he's so good at dancing

cerizeseries

Their lightstick is called a caratbong ☺️

Jungkookie

Noooo the two years were definitely not a waste. Blackpink, Straykids, and BTS have great music! It’s not always a competition. All groups have different strengths, and people have different tastes. BTS for example, I sincerely love the message in the music and the diversity in genres, but that’s a personal bias from me right there 😚😆 wahahhaha. BTS and SVT are my ults right now. I’m enjoying them along with the diversity of Kpop music, or any global music. Thinking the years you spent on other groups is a waste is kind of sad. It’s like thinking you wasted your time on Olivia Rodrigo when you discovered Sabrina Carpenter. There all gooooddd

Speaking of hairrsss I hope you’ll discover hoshi with long hair 😁 it was a whole unique experience for me when I discovered that haha. Apparently, I think pledis is experimenting who in the members could pull off the long hair cause I believe Jun also have a long hair era, but I’m definitely more shocked seeing hoshi with long hair 😁😅😂😂

clairity

Also answering the QOTD I became a carat in 2024 but I’m aware of the group since 2015/ 2016 cause my classmates back then who is really into seventeen that time play their music vid in the TV of our classroom during break time. And I remember back then DK is really pulling me hahaha. I’m a Hoshi Biased now BTW 😂

Jungkookie

I feel you. That’s definitely what I felt 😆

Thank you Familia! It was amazing checking out this album with you!!!! It’s so fun and diverse indeed hehe. Me as a ballad girlie do lean a bit towards a lot of vocal unit songs and love 20 hehe. But the rest are also so good that I can still enjoy it. Also on a fun note seventeen also have songs A-teen and 9teen which we might get to listen to in future haha. There’s also a song by Pink Sweat$ named 17 which features Joshua and DK hehe. Recently their New_ concert seventeen performed 18, 19, 20 during encore and it was so fun haha. Also yes next album is Boys Be. [Btw I do know Wednesday is our music days and Sundays our variety days, but incase you’re also interested we recently had a new Don’t Lie (What happened on Set) episode which was really fun if you’re interested.] Also since you were curious about the lightsticks here are all seventeen lightsticks. I’m attaching an image hope it’s visible(https://pin.it/5pDstq5Hi). A lot of carats love the version2 and hate version3 (the dark one). I personally don’t like it either as I love our fandom colored rose quartz-serenity ones. I have the last 3 lightsticks with me. I had to get the v3 also cuz of concert connectivity but I’ve decorated it pretty haha. But yea hope it helps. ~ (My profile picture is the v3-anniversary one, not sure if it’s visible clearly)

grapefruit

yeah our first official lightstick is the diamond spatula, according to minghao 😌 the one you asked about the sub-vocal is joshua!

Isa

yes! do BOYS BE first !! many iconic songs are there too ^^

I feel like Svt’s talent and pure passion somehow always manage to override the little bit of cringe you‘d usually expect from early content of k-pop groups. Adore U is still one of those songs I go back to whenever I need some cheering up. 🥹 Also, the next album is Boys Be. After that, if I’m not mistaken, there are actually 2 albums in between before Going Seventeen. The order goes: 1. Boys Be 2. Love & Letter: This has Pretty U, which got them their first music show win. 3. Love & Letter Repackage: This gave us the legendary *drumroll* Aju Nice! ✨ + a few new songs. And then comes Going Seventeen. It’s honestly fun going through their discography chronologically with you. I’ve liked Svt for as long as I can remember and know all their songs (I think; you never know with Svt), but I never really took the time to properly go through their albums in this manner. So it’s nice getting to experience this now, especially with expert input from fellow carats. Thank you to everyone who sends links and shares additional context on every video. 🩵

Jungkookie

Watching the familia go through SVT, I thought Uthman was gonna be a Hoshi Bias, and Marisol would be DK wahahah. Watching this, Uthman def Joshua’s 😆

SEVENTEEN GUIDE

Vernon and Woozi were actually part of the original Performance Unit lineup. But Woozi was moved to the Vocal Unit before debut once they realized he would be producing the group's music, and Vernon was reassigned to the Hip Hop Unit because of his natural rap skills ✨

LilMeowWow

At debut Woozi was known as "the fan attracting fairy" for bringing people into the fandom and what can I say, he's still my bias now. For deep notes from the Vocal Unit, Seungkwan goes pretty deep in Ash, and Woozi has a line in his Busan sartoori in Bring It too. One thing's for sure, it's not Hannie 😂 ps there were 3 early lightsticks which were pretty basic, before they moved to the Carat Bong design we know today. You can see them (with the exception of the current v4 10th anniversary lightstick) here: https://www.pannatic.com/2025/01/the-evolution-of-seventeens-lightstick.html

risy

you definitely have to listen to boys be album! and also 2 more albums before going seventeen album which is love&letter and love&letter repackage

Fay F

“SOME OF THEM” 😭😭 it’s crazy how well you guys know them now lol because there’s actually a TikTok of them signing their debut photos and their reactions are sending me 💀 DK was so proud and was like “wow! totally the same, nothing changed!” while WOOZI was like “you can just throw this away” 😭🤣

Shantice White

there was even a whole fight about vernon lol

Yossisvt13

Thank you, Familia!! And once again, I just want to say how much I love your reactions 🥹🩵🩷. QOTD: The first members who caught my attention were S.Coups and The8, but then Jeonghan with his long hair... UFFFF hahaha 😭😂 I'm so excited for Boys Be! I love this mini album so much too, and it has some iconic songs! ✨💎

grapefruit

yess love&letter is a must

B.

QODT: The first members who caught my attention were Jeonghan and Vernon. 💎

Izzati Mohammad

My favourite reverse unit is from Hiphop team singing to Hug from Vocal team

Priyanka Banerjee

Also Qotd: for me it was Wonu and the DK right after and they are my biases till day. Just seungkwan joined my bias line with Wonu-Dk

hi familia, really off topic but i just want to thank you guys so much because recently ive been inactive with seventeen after their last tour ended because of members slowly going into military. and end of the week last month, september, i came across to your guys’ reaction to svt on youtube and i was hooked familia. you guys are really the most genuine reactors ive ever watch because you guys actually look very interested to know or learn more about the members and the group. but anyways, my point is that familia, because of your reaction videos i was able to connect with seventeen again, and rewatch their contents in much unique way without feeling lonely, but also it takes me back to the days where i was still learning about the members. p.s. i finished watching all svt contents from your collection familia in just a month. looking forward for more !!

Iva

QOTD: I sadly can't even remember the first time I was hooked by Seventeen 😭 but I know I noticed Wonwoo first🥹 Yesss, the switch unitsss!! 😭💗 It’s such an iconic CARATLAND tradition, and it never gets old!! The way they keep finding new ways to surprise us every time is so 🥹💎 And I think watching them chronologically alongside the albums makes sense 💗 You get to see how their sound, concepts, and performances evolve era by era, and it makes all the little references and callbacks even more special. 🥹✨
