A few weeks ago, I ran into my no-contact mother.

Some of you may be aware as to out history, but briefly, for those who don't know: my birth parents are incredibly homophobic, amongst a lot of other things. I am no contact with them after blatant homophobia displayed towards me and my now-wife.

I have not seen or spoken to them in over a year. We do live in the same town, and the town is small, but I've been lucky not to cross paths with them once.

Well, this ended when I ran into her while leaving Winco (grocery store), with a cart full of goodies for my wife and I. She stopped me as I was leaving, and we stared at each other, saying nothing for a few, agonizing seconds. When she asked if she could just hug me, I finally found my voice and told her I had to go.

In the end, I was able to leave the situation. There would've been a lot of harm done to me if I had talked, if I had hugged her, if I had interacted at all. I'm glad I left, but I have been dealing with unresolved... emotions? regarding the brief moment. For a while after, I was anxious, and I didn't want to leave the house.

Now I'm angry.

Anyway.

This art piece is to deal with that. Here's a first look!
