Anyway, Baphomet and Akakios have a connection, one that originally made Akakios frightened and uncomfortable. But the more she has spoken to the supposed monstrous Prince of Beasts, the more she has come to understand him as intelligent, cunning, and kind. He shared his past with her in dreams, and she learned that he was abandoned as a child within a maze made to trap him. He was seen by his father, a king, as vile and disgusting. Unable to flee the maze, unable to escape, Baphomet become the "monster" he is today. 

Akakios knows what it's like to be treated as a monster. As a child, she told her parents of the whispers Baphomet put in her head. And they tried to beat it out of her.

Seeing Baphomet's past has moved her. And she solidifies her decision to keep anything like what happened to her or Baphomet from happening again.
