Hi Everyone! Today I am releasing my first addon, this addon will help you to quickly swap materials for your models, as of right now it is mostly focuses of DAZ imported models (you can also use it to upgrade materials of my older models), here is how to use it.

DOCUMENTATION/ HOW TO USE AN ADDON

First Import DAZ model of your choise, I will use Alt Cunningham as an example here

Default DAZ materials of her skin are sh@t as you can see, now we gonna fix it, by applying the materials that I use.

In the addon menu paste the path to Material Library (.blend file for that is attached, as of right now it only supports my models, but I will be adding the materials other artists use), select the character mesh then press "Material Replace", it will take a bit of time, so be ready for that.

After you pressed Material Replace what is happening, is that materials for the most important parts of the body are being replaced with materials that I use in my models, as you can see results are drastically better, if you don't like the level of details my models offer, you can always boost it by replacing normals, all you need to do is to put the path to the folder with your normal maps in the "Normals Folder" field, I will show an example using normals from Nyl's Baldur's Gate models.

IMPORTANT: NAMES OF YOUR NORMAL MAPS SHOULD FOLLOW A SPECIFIC NAMING CONVENTION OTHERWISE ADDON WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND THEM

TorsoN for Torso texture

ArmsN for Arms texture

LegsN for Legs texture

FaceN for Face texture

Once everything is setted up, select character mesh and press "Normals Replace" button, here is before and after look.

now the drivers, I use a lot of drivers in my materials and by importing it this way all of them are messed up, to fix this I included a small driver retargetting tool, first append controller from the Material Library, you need controller to controll wetness, dirt, bodywriting etc.

after that you can either use this object and retarget all drivers to it, or you can make your own, if you okay with using the appended object then just select main mesh, after that select Controller and press "Driver Retarget".

if you want your own object as a controller, then first add new object (I will be using Cube for that), then select appended controller and Shift + Left Click your object and press "Properties Transfer", it will transfer all of the custom properties used in appended controller to a new object.

After that select character mesh, Shift + Left Click your new controller and Press driver Retarget and that it completes your material set up, if it seams that toggling values on new controller does nothing try to delete it and then press Ctrl + Z, it should fix the issue.
