Concept art: Sake Letigre (Patreon)

Sake went through various iterations before we arrived at the current design. Originally, he had more of a scruffy look, but on his later appearances, he had his strip pattern simplified and stylized so that I could draw him more consistently. He was introduced in The Aftermath as a "Mafia Tiger". But I already had the idea of the Letigres in mind, it just didn't make sense for Eddy, of all characters, to be able to name drop it!

At this point, MonkeyDBax had joined me in writing, so we got to work slowly introducing him in the comics that followed.

In Dream Café I, he reappeared as a background cameo. We already had the idea of him as a demon in mind, so we included him there to hint at his storyline!

We wanted to show a more casual side of Sake in the comic that followed, because despite being a demon, he's a lot more human than Manit. So we included him in the cast of Honey Glazed Carrots!

Trust me, they're friends.

In that comic, we were also hinting at his demon power, we already had an idea of how his fight with Gabe Goat was going to be like in Dream Café II

Masochist's Whip is a whip that delays and amplifies pain and pleasure. He uses it to cause a disproportionate headache on Gabe Goat long after the headbutt!
