Hello!

I’ll just start with a thank you. Whether you’re a paid or free member, I am honestly shocked so many would go out of there way to actually join something made to straight up support well, an average joe like me. So again, thanks. I’m trying to be disciplined rather than rely on motivation but when the former failed me, you all do help keep me on track.

The number of you here actually brings me to the reason for this post. I’ve noticed in addition to everyone coming to read ahead I’ve also been getting a fair share of free members who are really getting nothing for being here.

Hence this.

Not sure what I should call it so I’m just going with a writer’s log for now. I think I’ll do one of these once a month just to keep everyone who goes out of there way to join the patreon, aware of my plans and intentions.

Obviously this month my one and only goal is proving to myself I can be a consistent writer which means posting during the weekdays for my RWBY story. I’ll be doing that for the entirety of January. That more or less wraps up my January plans. Straight forward and simple.

Beyond that though, for those who read my ANs, I’m sure I mentioned my ideal writer being not just a quality one but an efficient one too. And I meant efficient enough to balance two different stories at once. It’s actually how I started but failed miserably, not realizing how much work that actually called for especially if I want to maintain quality.

Whole lot of editing, writing, and double checking things.

Should I give up on that goal? Maybe. Most successful writers seem to focus on one thing before hopping to another project. But I don’t want to be most, I want to be me. That means pushing myself towards that ideal.

I say all that just to say that during the first week of February, assuming I managed to be consistent and post reliably, I’ll be holding a poll for all about what that second story should be. The obvious answer is to pick back up my Elden Ring story but since there are more than me, myself, and I here now, I want to have a general consensus on what you are all are interested in.

I think I’ll either post the summaries of the ideas for each story idea I have or write an intro for each one and have you all use that as a basis for your vote. Haven’t decided yet. Its too early to say exactly what I’ll have in mind when that times comes but right now I’ve got a few ideas revolving around Skyrim, My Hero Academia, Code vein cause of the sequel coming out, Dragon Ball(Specifically Xenoverse), A few other things with crossover aspects from Naruto, and straight up a different Elden Ring story I’ve been thinking up that takes place far before the shattering. Sounds like a lot but having ideas don’t really mean much if you’re not writing for them so don't think I'm just wasting time juggling a bunch of stories that aren't going anywhere.

I’m open to suggestions too but keep in mind that this is all just to gauge interest. Its unlikely I’ll actually write for anything that doesn’t catch my interest even if its popular.

Anyways, that’s all I wanted to say.

See you all around.

idk, I've been reading a lotta MHA fics these past few days so I'm inclined to say MHA. Though, that does completely depend on the direction you want to take the story.

Me too, it's probably why the idea was in my head. Not going to lie it was going to be one that didn't tackle the main plot into way later on but I wouldn't worry too much about it. It might never happen if I can't be consistent with my current story and even then, it's a whole month away. I could give up the idea completely.

Yuh, I've recently been reading this really interesting one about a dude who got reborn in MHA with Reze's (bomb devil's) powers. 0 cannon characters so far (20-30k ish words in if I had to guess) and I can confidently say it's one of my favorite MHA fics on the site. Maybe give us a little synopsis on each one of your ideas?

If you're going to write two stories, I recommend choosing one you've at least seen halfway through. For example, if you want to write one about My Hero Academia, you should have seen at least half, or even all, of it. Often, when a writer knows nothing about the anime, they get lost in the story and have to create their own, IN ADDITION to following the anime's chronological order, which adds a lot of stress and leads them to abandon their projects because they don't know how to coordinate everything. Although I have seen cases of people who do their research and ask fans for help with the story, good luck!

Sound advice. Thankfully I don't really write for anything I haven't finished and/or aren't invested in to some degree. Never really understood the point in writing a fanfic for something I'm not, well, a fan of.

The synopsis bit is the the plan for the February log. Ideas so early on are subject to lots of change after all not to mention I'm only going to do this if I prove to myself I can be super consist with one story. No point in juggling two if I can't handle one as I've learned the hard way. I know the MHA, as I currently have it in mind, will likely be more of slice of life thing which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea with Mirko as the either the most prominent or second most prominent character in it. Take all that with a grain of salt though.

And that sounds super interesting! That Reze fic I was talking about earlier is mostly SoL too (one action chapter?) and reached 1k collections at 13 chapters in so it does work. Mirko's also a super underutilized character (surprisingly) in WN fanfics of MHA so I think a lot of people would be interested in that too (the big caveat is she's probably the most common LI in those pokemon harem fics). SoL would probably be hella unique.

Have you thought about writing a stargate fic? (Also if you haven't watched sg1 you need to its really good)

Thirdratewriter

Not sure I've heard of that before but I'll try and check it out if I ever get the time. Admittedly most of my free time is dedicated to writing, especially this month, so I'm not sure when that'll happen.
