Mineta; he might’ve been a side character like so many others in 1-A or in general across the show but in those other set of memories I had, he was distinctly memorable compared to most others thrown into that category. Aside from his unique look, a short grape headed dude hard to forget, as the would be comic relief and perverted character he upheld a lot of the traditional tropes in anime.

He actually had a handful of distinctly funny moments according to those memories, like when Midoriya showed off Blackwhip, but the perverted bits tended to overshadow all that in the fanbase.

Some people were way too passionate about the morality of the actions of a fictional character. A side character at that.

He, along with one other guy, was nowhere to be found.

Honestly, I couldn’t recall a single thing about the other guy other than the fact that his hero suit was mostly yellow and he ate sugar to get stronger.

Were they in one of the other classes? Did they even make it into U.A?

I didn’t spend too much time worrying about that, shrugging it off to mine and Himiko’s presence here before refocusing on the protests that’d broken out.

“You can’t expel one of us! We just got here!” Uraraka exclaimed, the disbelief and shock in her desperate voice reflecting what was felt across the entire class.

“U.A. isn’t your typical high school; clinging on to any preconceived notions about what is and isn’t allowed here is irrational. Here we teachers have permission to do as we see fit. That includes deciding how we run our classes.” Aizawa, staring blandly at all of us, declared. “You all signed up wanting to be heroes, didn’t you? Fact is we all compete in everything we do, heroes especially. Except out there, the consequences of falling short can mean the death of you or those around you instead of something as simple as expulsion.”

That stopped the protests cold, even more uncertainty spreading across the class. It was crazy how quickly they went from being excited about this quirk apprehension test after seeing Bakugo blast that baseball across the skies to fearful, but given the consequence of coming in last was being kicked out of the school they all worked hard to attend?

“I don’t like this guy.” Himiko muttered, her hold around my neck tightening.

“He’s just telling the truth.” I whispered back.

There was room to debate whether or not he was being fair and if this was less of a proper test and more of hazing with a punishment like that but at the end of the day its not like he was being strict out of malice. The man definitely meant what he was saying and probably believed he was preventing deaths just as much.

Besides, Aizawa was more reasonable than he came off.

My guess? Every year he did something like this, he probably went into it with a pretty good idea who would come in last place or fall short of his standards; the guy would have access to all our records after all from prior schools to performance during the entrance exams. This was as much a chance for everyone to adjust to making use of their quirks under pressure as it was a test for that for that person or persons.

This year, with a class of talent and personality, Midoriya just happened to be the single one under scrutiny.

Expelling someone after one test was still a crazy extreme though.

Oh well. Midoriya would be fine if he just did as he did in the show. I was more curious about how I’d do compared to everyone else here.

XOXO

A 50 meter dash.

The majority of us lined up beside the packed dirt track, two lanes outlined in white, Aizawa had the dashes being done in pairs. A way to enforce the competitiveness that came with being in U.A. I assumed. There didn’t seem to be any real order to how he had us go up, neither our names nor student numbers being used for the order.

“Toga Himiko and Kirishima Eijirou.” Aizawa called out as the latest pair finished their dash, they returning to the sidelines to join the rest of us.

Himiko dropped off my back, looking up at me expectantly. I held out my hand she bit down into the side of my palm. “Good luck.” I said as she drained some of my blood.

Lingering a moment just to savor it, she didn’t go for a full transformation, hair darkened to black as she stepped back and licked her lips. “I don’t need luck when I’ve got you.” She said playfully before taking off and joining a stretching Kirishima at their respective starting lines.

“Doesn’t she always keep some of your blood with her? Ribbit.” Tsu asked. I knew the two worked together during the exam, but I’m surprised she already knew that much.

“She prefers it fresh.” I said while whipping away the remaining blood on my pants legs, picking up on the curious look Yaoyorozu was giving me from my other side. Actually, I was the focus of quite a few looks. “It’s her quirk.” I answered Yaoyorozu’s unasked question loud enough for the others to hear. With Himiko being so open, if they wanted specifics they could just ask her about it, otherwise I wasn’t going to bother going too deep into that explanation.

I focused all my attention on the dash as the two readied themselves.

Aizawa raised the starting gun towards the air.

Then fired.

In an instant, with reaction time, comparable to my own, Himiko took the lead, shaving off the first, what, one-tenth of a second others needed to respond to it. Back in my other memories and still in this world despite quirks, that would’ve been labeled an anticipatory start but with the equipment Aizawa had tracking the whole dash, it wasn’t a problem.

Whether it be a partial or full transformation, Himiko was never fully able to match me in anything physical but between all of it, her boosted strength, flexibility and reflexes, I was almost certain she benefited from the traits that changed my body.

It made me wonder; could she use Removal? I was still struggling with it myself so I couldn’t really teach her but in the future it was worth testing.

Kirishima was no slouch, running faster than most despite his quirk being useless in a dash, but he never managed to match her speed or bridge the distance between them, Himiko finishing with a solid 4.5 seconds and he a little over a second behind her.

“Akaguro Katsuya and Ojiro Mashirao.” Aizawa called out, no time given for any kind of celebration.

Exchanging a high five with Himiko as she came over, I headed towards one of the starting positions alongside a blonde guy with a thick hair tipped tail following behind him. While he did some stretching, I unzipped my shirt and pulled it off, tying it around my waist before curling my lip, barely pricking skin with my teeth.

Bloodboost active and a good bit of strength to my body, I lowered my stance staring straight ahead.

Aizawa raised the starting gun.

In nearly the exact same moment it went off, the sound still carrying out, I shot forward, focused entirely on clearing the dash only slowing once I crossed the finish line.

I turned to see my time.

3.9. Not bad. Maybe I should’ve tried to throw in Removal too, but I still wasn’t all that good when it came to moderating the extent of its use. Too much and I’d start looking way too different; I might be able to get away with brushing it off as a side effect to my quirk but that wouldn’t work very well.

Either way, that’s one test down.

XOXO

“540? That’s awesome, dude.”

Scattered across the gymnasium that’d been close to that dash we’d just finished up, the class was admiring some of the high scores of our latest test. That one guy with the web of arms on his back was the current center of attention, a lot of the guys crowding around him to check his high score for themselves.

“Think you can top that if you try again?” Himiko asked, nudging me and drawing me from my scanning. For once Aizawa wasn’t rushing us along, letting people hype themselves up before testing their grips on the small black machines he’d given all of us alongside making retries.

“Maybe.” I said, looking past her and to Tsu who blinked when our eyes met.

I hadn’t bothered asking for her blood for the dash since I just didn’t have any experience with it beyond that one time she let me try it. Logically, being that big should mean being slower but quirks didn’t always follow logic. All Might was just one example of that.

A test like this was the perfect chance to test the strength at least.

“Mind if I get a little of your blood, Tsu?”

“No, ribbit.” She held up a hand for me. I pricked the tip of one of her fingers with a tooth and-

The taste that hit my tongue was a punch to my taste buds. I remembered her blood having a kick, but it was really hitting me; the burning sensation almost like having a cold soda for the first time.

“Whoa.” Himiko muttered, head leaned back to look up at me.

“He’s even bigger than last time.” Tsu added.

“Like…bigger everywhere?” Himiko whispered, her eyes dropping. Despite her face not really changing or following Himiko’s lead, Tsu’s cheek did gain the lightest dusting of red.

Thankfully no one else picked up on Himiko’s dirty thoughts. Even more fortunately, despite my sudden growth -I was no All Might, but I stood well above everyone else in the gym- my tank top remained intact along with my pants, the latter annoyingly uncomfortable.

Ignoring all that, I gradually clenched down on the machine in my right hand.

400..

450..

563?

Tsu’s blood was something else. I should definitely get in a proper position and see just how much I could squeeze out of this form.

XOXO

The standing long jump, repeated side steps, the ball throw, and every test that followed went more or less as expected. Occasionally I scored in first but overall never fell out of the top placements. As it turned out, while Bloodboost wasn’t flashy or completely unique, a massive boost to all my physical abilities put me ahead in this kind situation.

Layered on my unnatural flexibility, Fast Reflexes, and the Kure bloodline? Trained humans were far more capable here than the ones in my other set of memories and that went double for me with so many physical related traits. Of course all the healing from Himiko’s brought me this far so quickly but the Kure bit pushed me well past the limits others would’ve hit by now.

The results reflected all that.

[Feat Accomplished!

Place first in Aizawa’s Quirk Apprehension Test!

+1 Gold Trait Gacha Ticket

+2 Advantage Bronze Random Tickets]

Three tickets in one feat?

Letting that window close, I focused on the screen displaying our scores like everyone else.

Me at the top. Yaoyorozu right behind me, with Todoroki rounding out the top three. Himiko and Tsu were slotted in the upper middle portion of placements, the former having half assed a number of the tests in my opinion. Technically speaking she did try her best, pushing herself like everyone else. With that partial transformation anyways.

There were plenty of tests like the grip one where a full transformation with my blood would’ve gotten her a high score, but she opted not to bother going that far throughout the entirety of it.

She was here more for me than being genuinely interested in the hero training being offered.

Wherever the others ended up on it, everyone aside from one person was breathing a sign of relief. Only Midoriya, his name displayed last among the placements, was left crestfallen by the results.

There was nothing to worry about though.

“No one’s being expelled.” Aizawa announced, stepping in front of the scores, a chorus of surprised yells filling the courtyard we stood in. Midoriya had done exactly as he did in the show during the ball test and impressed Aizawa.

I always thought Midoriya was something else but seeing him firsthand use a power he knew full well would break his body in someway really put how different he was into perspective. If he somehow ended up with Enflame, someone like him would’ve thrown himself into training with it fully far earlier than I ever did.

“I only said that to make sure all of you gave your all during this test.” Aizawa continued. “Consider this your first taste of what U.A. will be like. If you don’t get used to that kind of pressure you won’t last long here. Now go get changed and return to the classroom, we’ll be starting homeroom.”

With the entrance ceremony missed, it looked like we would finally be starting our actual day at the school.

XOXO

(A/N: Lot of tickets built up and a whole lot of rolling to be done. Being put off by plot but it will all be used very soon. Its actually lining up with the perfect time for something else too.

Anyways, I stuck with those I already decided were being cut. Even now I can't really recall sugar boy's name nor can I see any kind of decent interaction with Katsu from him. Ojiro was briefly considered but he actually studies Karate and is a black belt in it. That's his main saving grace cause it'll offer some interaction with Katsu. As for Mineta, well, I honestly just didn't feel like writing his character. Not much else to it. Actually, speaking of shallow logic, if you bother taking those test numbers seriously, you're making a mistake.

My logic boiled down to, that number is cool so lets go with that. I only care about feats involving fights not exact stuff like weight lifted or other stuff.)
