MHA Chaos' Whims Chapter 33: Truths (Patreon)
Content
Warmth. Weight. Strands.
Silently yawning, it took some blinks and rubbing of my eyes before I realized that the unusual warmth contrasting the cool room, the weight draped across my body, and the strands blocking my vision all had to do with Himiko. She was cuddled to my side, faint breaths brushing across the crook of my neck, an arm and leg laid over me while her mess of blonde hair covered part of my face.
I found myself taking a long breath, one of the many fruit scented shampoos she liked to rotate between filling my nose.
This was a nice way to wake up.

Platinum? That was a first, but the thing was ruining the mood more than anything else.
I let the window close in on itself and glanced to the end table on my side of the bed, focusing on the LED clock on it. Five in the morning. I could get some more sleep or get up early. A long night was no excuse for missing my morning run.
As I turned back, Himiko shifted, head rising off my shoulder and our eyes locking. Hers half-lidded, she leaned forward, pecking my lips. A peck that turned into a full blown make out session that only snowballed from there.
Soon enough we built up a sweat, Himiko now laying directly on my chest.
She was a good excuse for missing that run though.
“Last night really happened?” She whispered. I hummed, reaching up to brush aside some of her hair before caressing her cheek. She leaned into my hand, eyes closing for a moment. Only to quickly reopen as she shifted a bit, rubbing at her neck, whatever wound that should’ve been left there long since gone after drinking so much of my blood. “Why’d you bite my neck?”
Yeah, I might’ve let myself get carried away a little there. “You made me curious.” I admitted. “I want to, but I still don’t think I understand that craving of yours. The whole thing just felt dangerous to me.” I paused. “I won’t do it again. Not unless you ask me to.”
Himiko smiled softly but it fell long before it could match any of her usual ones, her eyes following. I couldn’t blame her if she was disappointed. With my taste for my blood, I should be the closest to understanding her, but even after drinking as much of it as I did for training, I still couldn’t bring myself to drink it down the way she did. The appeal, hunger, or whatever else just wasn’t strong enough for me.
“My parents think I’m in general studies.” That came out of nowhere. Her eyes rose up, lips thinned. “Sad, right? They still don’t even know what my quirk is.”
What was I supposed to say to that? Was there anything I could say to that?
“Before we came here, they had me going to therapy too. They’ve always thought there was something wrong with me.” Himiko muttered, her lips twitching into a shaky frown. She forced it away, reaching up and wrapping her arms around my neck and stuffing her head into the crook of my neck. “I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t just drop all that on you, but I don’t want to keep anything from you. You’re-You’re the only one…” She fell silent, her hug tightening.
Complicated. When it came to both our parents that word hardly summed things up despite our situations being exactly that.
How would I know what to say to her about hers when I didn’t even know how to deal with mine?
“Himiko.” I said, raising my hand. She peaked her head out from my neck and looked towards it after a gesture from me.
I might not know what to say but that didn’t mean there wasn’t anything I couldn’t do.
Orange flames burned to life around my fingertips.
Himiko didn’t quite shoot up but she her head snapped fully off of me, eyes widening as the flames danced above us, each one adding a little more light to the room. Even with the lowest amount of energy powering it, Enflame burned hot, but I’d dealt with far worse compared to those small flames. Still, Iron Mind was making it frighteningly easy to ignore the fact that I was literally burning my flesh, not even a wince leaving me.
I closed my hand, the flames dying out by the time I formed a fist.
“I have abilities.” I said, rising up and bringing her with me. “A lot more than just Bloodboost.”
“Like, more than one quirk?”
“Maybe, I don’t really know. Honestly, with everything I can do, it’s probably better to think of it as magic.” Just to hammer that point home, I held an open palm out towards her, Enflame swapped out for Clothes Beam. A bright white aura of light surrounded her for moment before dying down just as quickly, Himiko now in a near perfect replica of her school uniform. “I don’t think quirks can explain any of this.”
Himiko looked herself over, messing with the collar, tie, and skirt.
“I’ve never told anyone about any of this.” I added.
“Not even Aunt Nozomi?” Himiko asked, looking back up at me, her eyes still wide.
I shook my head. “Only you.” I said, smiling. “I don’t want to keep anything from you either.”
Himiko stared.
“Katsu.” She said, a pause following it. “We can get rich off of this!”
We could get…rich? A small snort escaped me before turning to a full on laugh.
“Hey, don’t laugh at me. I’m being serious. If you can just magically pop out clothes like this, we could start entire brands without spending a single yen.” She wasn’t wrong but I can’t say that was the first thing I expected to come out of her mouth.
“I’ll leave the designing to you when we get around to that.” I said, shaking my head before getting off the bed. “Let’s get ready for school first.”
XOXO
“So, you’re a walking talking gacha machine?” Himiko asked, head craned back against my shoulder to look at the single star Dragon Ball she held over our heads. Fully dressed for school but with some time to spare before we had to head to the station, we sat on the couch, she in my lap.
“It’s more like I’m the container for one?” I wasn’t too bothered by keeping it to myself, but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t something, freeing might be the right word, about talking to Himiko specifically about it. I still felt a little bad though.
Those other set of memories. My future knowledge. I was still keeping that to myself and some parts of it would remain that way forever. I didn’t see much of point in possibly burdening anyone with some existential crisis about having been some character in a show or pulling her attention away from the friends she was making quite yet.
I’d make sure she was warned and protect her myself when anything dangerous came along.
“Tsk, I still can’t believe you got one of those ticket things because we had sex.” She brought the Dragon Ball down, and sat up straighter against me. “Use it. I want to see how it works.”
“You’re not going to see anything.” I reminded her but nevertheless did as she said.

[Terraprisma
Elite Familiar
Terraria - The Terraprisma are the Blades of the Empress of Light. An array of autonomous swords made of prismatic light. These blades can act with intelligence, even with sentience, flying to enemies in range and butchering with efficiency or striking attacks out of the air or attaching to targets other than you as long as you will it. The power of the prismatic blades and their numbers depend on your power level. You start with 1 blade.]
I was no Terraria fan, having only dabbled a handful of times, but holy shit. That was my first Elite Rank pull besides the tarot card, wasn’t it?
“So that’s what you’ve been doing all this time.” Himiko exclaimed as if just coming to some kind of realization. “I just thought you were visualizing notecards or something whenever you did that.”
Here I thought I was being careful about everyone when I read off these windows. Then again, with how much time we spent together, Himiko would be the one to see me slip up here or there especially with so many of my tickets coming from her in the first place.
“You better have gotten something good.”
“I definitely did.” With a thought, and, despite how much I’ve managed to increase my energy over the last year, nearly a third of it taken, a pair of swords appeared over our shoulders. In the shape of broad longswords, their entire lengths were crystalline glowing rainbow of colors that hovered in place. “Go over there.”
Green momentarily pulsing brightly amongst the colors, the pair of swords shot over my desk in the corner of the room.
“Protect Himiko.” They returned to us, this time hovering just a little closer to my shoulders, she their focus rather than me. “One of you, follow her orders.”
Himiko didn’t miss a beat, snapping her fingers and pointing at the half eaten apple she’d left on the coffee table. “Cut that in half.” The left one shot forward and like knife to butter, cut the apple so cleanly and so quickly, it only fell apart once the muticolored sword returned to us. “That was fucking cool.”
“The description said I’ll get more of them the stronger I get too.”
“Even cooler then.” Himiko decided. She leaned her head back against my shoulder again, a brow raised as she looked up at me. “But you know I’m not letting you use all of this as an excuse to be more of workaholic than you already are.”
“Is it really work if I’m enjoying myself?” Smiling, I moved and pecked her forehead. “But I appreciate it.”
Himiko returned the smile before nodding to herself. “Alright! You said you had more of those tickets, right? Let’s use them all at once and see what you get.” She declared. “I’ll be your good luck charm.”
My good luck charm? That might not be inaccurate. Some of my best rolls were done around her.
I’ll start with those familiar tickets I got from hanging out with Tsu before we headed off to U.A.

[Immortal Snail
Common Familiar
An immortal snail, who knows what it wants or how it came to be. But one thing is for sure, it is immortal, even if you eradicated every quark of its being, it would reform back to perfection in just a minute. It is biologically immortal too, immune to all sickness and aging. But in the end, it is limited to the vessel of a snail.]
That was so random.
[Dire Wolf
Common Familiar
A large vicious pre-historic wolf the size of a man, they are very strong with tough and sharp teeth and claws, they are also big enough to be used as a mount. By default, they are female and can reproduce.]
A giant wolf didn’t sound bad, but I wouldn’t lie, after Nue, those demons, and now these blades, it would be hard for me to see a use case for most of these. Depending on how fast it was, it might be a good alternative to Nue for getting around if I didn’t have much energy or didn’t want to stand out flying directly over an area. Riding around on giant wolf wasn’t what I would label a stealthy alternative, but it was something.
Of course, with enough energy and summons, there was always going down the varied army route.
I relayed the two to Himiko before moving on to those tickets I got from Aizawa’s test.

[Endless Stomach
Uncommon Trait
Your stomach is 1000x larger on the inside than the outside, don't ask how it works. You can keep eating and you will digest the food inside of you on a need to basis without feeling discomfort, allowing you to eat months worth of food ahead of time and not worry for a month, same for water. Thankfully, the stomach is very efficient, so you also only produce 1/1000th of the waste.
Or
Cloranthy Ring
Uncommon Item
Dark Souls - This ancient ring, engraved with a large green flower, is of unknown origin. Hastens the regeneration of stamina and recovery from exhaustion.]
“I kind of want to see you stuff your face at buffet place with that stomach one.” Himiko said after I looped her in on what I got. “But the ring sounds like the thing you’d go with. It’ll help with hero stuff.” She looked back, that perverted grin of her slipping into place as she rubbed herself against me. “And a whole lot of other stuff.”
Nympho was looking like the right title for her.
I did have something of a preference for traits, abilities, and skills, but she was right on the money there. More stamina, or at least a quicken regen of it, meant being able to get more done all around. There wasn’t much of a case to make against going for the ring over something like Endless stomach.
Even if I never had any intention of trying that mystery slop, Solvent Green, one of my first rolls, was an infinite source of nutrition which made Endless Stomach all the easier to pass up.
Going with the ring, with just a thought, it appeared on one of my fingers. The ring itself was a silver band with flowery engravings topped by a modest gathering of green jewels that all together formed a blooming flower. I didn’t feel any different but that was to be expected. For now, rather than keeping it on, I slipped it off, letting Himiko look it over.
“Not really my color.” Despite saying that, she slipped it on, the thing visibly adjusting to fit her.
Uh, good to know if I ever got anything more like that, it’d fit her.
While she focused on that I started the next.

[Knight Killer
Uncommon Item
Solo Levelling - A large dagger made for dealing with heavily armoured opponents, the stronger the armour an opponent is wearing, the more damage the dagger deals.
Or
The Straw Hat
Trash Item
One Piece - Holds a lot of sentimental value to a certain sun god but not much material value.]
That was a no brainer, something Himiko and I both agreed on.
One quick decision later, and with sparks of blue electricity, a rather large dagger formed in my right hand.
“Now that looks good.” Himiko said. The handle a dull gold with a lined grip and a broken hook at its bottom, the blade of the jagged dagger was a mix of black and red, the former making up the center with the red outlining its edge and sometimes crossing between the black to create an eye catching pattern.
I already had Soul Solid which had longer reach, a little use of Enflame able to boost its piercing and slashing abilities, but the dagger would probably be even better with Enflame considering its inborn characteristic.
Raising my other hand from around Himiko’s waist, I pressed a finger to its edge.
I didn’t even move and it pricked skin, my blood beginning to drip down the crimson edge.
Definitely better. Cutting through that Nomu that should appear at the USJ was on the table with this. If I didn’t get turned to paste by one of its punches first. I could pass the dagger off to Himiko too if the situation ever called for it. Hopefully there wouldn’t be one like that but better to have and be prepared than to not.
Did holsters and stuff count as clothes?
Holding out my palm, a shining light enveloped the dagger, a simple black sheath left in its place around the dagger.
“Want to try it on?” I asked. Himiko stood up and took the dagger, riding up her skirt to secure the sheath’s black strap around her thigh. Sizable as the dagger was, a bit of it was still visible even as she tugged at the ends of her skirt, but it’d be possible for her to hide it with some adjustments or in other outfits.
“How do I look?” Himiko asked, given a twirl and a little peace sign, that cutesy vibe she put together likely to stop anyone from ever taking notice of the dagger poking out from the edge of her skirt.
“Killer.” With how messy she liked to leave her hair now and that dagger? She was the spitting image of her show counterpart just in a U.A uniform.
After letting the dagger return to my storage space and setting aside the newly created sheath, Himiko plopped herself back down in my lap and I went on to the remaining tickets, one of which I couldn’t help but have high hopes for.

[Wado Ichimonji
Rare Item
One Piece - A great-grade katana crafted by a master blacksmith in Wano. This sword is extremely sharp and absurdly durable, the perfect pick for any swordsman. In addition, this sword is great at channelling energy after years of use, making abilities using it as a channel cost slightly less energy.
Or
Dojo Key
Rare Item
An ornate key that, when turned in a sufficiently large space, creates a portal leading into a pocket dimension that is 1 km x 1 km x 1 km in size that contains a large dojo building inside with a moderate garden area. The inside of the Dojo contains all the expected amenities, training dummies, sparring weapons, running water, training uniforms, towels, etc., Everything that originally belonged to the Dojo will be restocked within 24 hours, with the broken parts disposed of, and any destruction that happened inside the Dojo will be repaired at the same time. Nothing that originates from the dojo can be taken out of it. The gate that leads outside the dimension is always open and leads to where the entrance was last opened.]
An entire pocket dimension? Full of training stuff? More efficient energy use or not, some katana wasn’t really matching up to that for me.
“That sounds like the kind of place you’d lock yourself in.” Himiko said, though by this point her brow had furrowed, confusion and curiosity both at all time high. “That’s the one you’re going for, isn’t it?”
Of course. Depending on how restrictive that sufficiently large space requirement was, as well as how the entry gate worked, I could have a private place where I never had to worry about someone wandering across me while I was training.
That left one more ticket.
[Rolling Gold Trait Gacha Ticket…]
[Earth Resistance
Rare Trait
You are naturally resistant to Earth and earth-based attacks and effects such as being stuck in quicksand, being buffeted by a sandstorm, or being struck by a meteor. No, metal does not count. This resistance scales with your basic stats.]
That was…
“What does that even mean?” Himiko asked. “If I throw a rock at you, is it just not going to hurt as much anymore?”
Pretty much my question too. Would I just not be as slowed down or stuck in quicksand? What exactly about me was being changed to stop a sandstorm from screwing with me? Should I be worrying about all that? This was the same gacha that had tried to offer me a trait that would somehow result in me walking in on countless perverted situations.
The implication was what was more important to me.
“If Earth Resistance is a thing, there’s a good chance Fire Resistance is too.” What were the chances I’d manage to roll that? Not even worth calculating but there was now evidence it existed at least. “It’ll be easier to use my flames if I could get something like that.”
Himiko nodded. “I guess you have to see the bright side if you can’t even control what you get from this stuff.” She said, leaning back again to look up at me. “This is weird. I know you’re not lying to me but it’s still kind of hard to think you’re just sitting here getting stuff. You’re sure Bloodboost didn’t come from that and it’s not all just one weird quirk?”
“Honestly, that might be what I let other people believe in the future.” I admitted, shrugging. “But I’m pretty sure it’s not a quirk.”
“I mean, the whole gacha thing could just be your brain’s way of understanding and helping with your quirk. It’s like us with blood or some people with flight quirks never being bothered by heights.” Himiko guessed. “Maybe your quirk is just some kind of rapid adaption or evolution or something and it took your brain forever to find some way to make sense of all of it.”
“Summoning a dagger and ring don’t sound like adaptions. Plus, that whole dojo thing.”
Himiko threw her hands up in a casual shrug. “Just throwing out guesses. Not my fault you’re too weird for any of them to stick.”
Disinterested as she was when it came to school, especially without a rep to uphold or parents breathing down her neck, Himiko was still a top scoring student who’d gotten one of the best scores on U.A’s written portion of the Entrance Exam. I doubted anyone in class was as well read on quirks as her aside from our teachers especially with her personal set of circumstances.
“So, is this really why you wanted to go to U.A and be a hero?” Himiko asked. “You want to keep doing hard stuff so you can get more stuff from this gacha thing?”
“At first but knowing me I probably would’ve burned out and gave up if that was all.”
“You, burn out? You?” Himiko asked incredulously, looking at me as if she just heard something more unbelievable than my whole gacha thing.
“Yeah.” I assured her nodding a bit. “I don’t want to just coast by doing whatever, you know. I want to push myself to do things I enjoy even if they’re hard. You helped me figure that out.”
Himiko reached up, poking at my forehead before turning herself around in my lap and pressing her soft lips to mine. It didn’t get to last very long, an alarm coming from my phone.
“We could miss a day?” Himiko whispered, pulling back a smidge.
“Our second day?” I leaned forward and pecked her lips. “Come on, we've got plenty to learn.”
“Nerdddd.” Himiko complained while I lifted her up.
Sliced apple taken care of, blades dismissed, and items returned to my storage space, we got our bags and stepped out the door.
“Good morning, Uraraka.” Himiko chirped cheerfully, said girl stepping outside her door at the same time as us and beginning to lock up.
“Oh, um-“ Uraraka fumbled with her keys a bit, looking between us before her eyes dropped down. “G-Good morning!” She said far louder than she needed to.
I knew what was going on.
“Katsu, I think she heard us last night.” Himiko whispered yet her voice not nearly low enough for Uraraka not to pick up on her words, the girl’s already reddened face turning even darker. Clearly intentional, Himiko’s own red stained smile showing off everything but shame or true embarrassment.
I held back a sigh, Iron Mind probably the only thing keeping my own embarrassment from fully taking hold.
In hindsight, I should’ve seen this coming.
XOXO
(A/N: It should come as no surprise that Toga really did end up being the one to learn all this first. She, and likely other members of the harem, are likely the only ones to be privy to most of the details surrounding it but we'll see how things go. Crazy rolls could always change my plans.)
