“Are you alright? Ribbit. Himiko said you were sent home early yesterday.”

Alright? I felt fucking great. Better than great.

With the soreness and the accompanying exhaustion of the surgery gone, the worst of it kept at bay by Iron Mind the whole time, my body felt as light as a feather and mind clearer than ever. I thought my senses were crazy before, but here and now, walking alongside Tsu to school, I was picking up so much, not even darkened corners of the waking city able to hide anything from me.

Normally sleeping in just had a way of making me just as tired as missing out on it, but after getting way more than a night’s sleep I was feeling better than I ever had.

“Don’t worry about me. I feel great.”  I said, smiling as I clenched and unclenched a fist, testing my strength. I wouldn’t call it some high or anything but I’m sure part of what I was feeling also had to do with Total Concentration Breathing, the correct breathing surprisingly easy to maintain in conversation.

Knowledge about the constant variation or specific things like using it to speed up the closing of wounds might not have come packaged in with Thunder Breathing but I’m pretty sure the former was literally just doing Total Concentration Breathing at all times. Precise had made it easy to get started with back in the Dojo and now, with my body enhanced, strain wasn’t an issue.

At this point I was more concerned with turning it into a habit than getting it right or strain.

I don’t think there was any overstating how Precise and that surgery were working together to elevate every single thing I was capable of, from quirk and abilities to applying the knowledge from skills I had.

“Make sure to tell Mister Aizawa if you feel like you need to go to the nurse.” She said, accepting my answer but not really sounding convinced.

It wasn’t long until Midoriya and Yaoyorozu joined the walk, voicing the same concerns. I assured them I was fine too, the rest of the way to school spent talking about class and asking how Midoriya’s attempts at his yet to be named Full Cowling was going. He was still struggling to get any moving done while concentrating the power of One For All but I chalked that up to trying to learn it early.

Time and constantly destroying parts of his body over and over then getting healed by Recovery Girl probably left him far more acclimated to the power than he was now.

Once we got past the school gates and into our classroom, settling in followed the norm except for my enhanced senses. It was interesting picking up new details about people I either would’ve never been able to figure out or didn’t care to pay enough attention to find out.

Shoji, Tokoyami, and Ojiro, from among the other early arrivals, were distinct enough that it wouldn’t take much to ever pick them out. Despite all being on the quieter side Shoji’s extra arms came with follow through when he moved that others wouldn’t have, Dark Shadow, even while concealed, made this faint sound akin to the whistle of wind that I couldn’t miss, and Ojiro, while offset by the weight of his tail, held himself similar enough to me that it drew my attention. A shared effect of us practicing martials arts if his hero outfit was anything to go off of.

Those other set of memories weren’t the clearest when it came to them, but I watched them enough in class that it didn’t matter.

A few others like Bakugo and Sero caught my attention the two, randomly enough, coming across as similar to me. All of us were fit one way or another but those two’s arms were noticeably stronger compared to the rest of their body. With the kick back of Backugo’s explosions and Sero needing to be strong enough to effectively use that material that came from his elbows, the similarity actually made some sense.

There was still a massive difference in their respective strengths though.

When Himiko finally entered the class, the both of us exchanging smiles as she made her way over, those who were with her quickly stole my attention. I noticed it before, the detail even more prevalent now, but Uraraka typically smelled like some kind of food or snack so nothing new there.

Hagakure caught my eye. Well not her but the outline of her. I instantly picked up on where she was, her transparency distorting things where she was for me now rather than her being fully invisible. And, straining my eyes a bit for the first time since the surgery, more distinct outlines became more visible. It wasn’t anything exact, but it was just enough to tell certain things.

Whether or not her eyes were open, the tip of her nose at times, and maybe the shape of her mouth. Kind of a shame that I couldn’t outright see through her invisibility but unless it somehow erased their presence entirely, it was good to know firsthand that anyone with a similar quirk wouldn’t be able to hide from me.

Hagakure, tilted her head, slowing her steps as we held eye contact. Her uniform shifted as she straightened up, abandoning her walk to her seat and quickly linking back up with Himiko on her way to me.

“Morning Yaoyo, Katsu.” Himiko chirped.  She was usually in a good mood but our time in the Dojo had left her in a perpetual cherry one that she showed no signs of coming down from. “Think you’ll come with me to the support course later, Prez? I want to check in with Hatsume.”

“Probably not. I need to see Recovery Girl again once classes are over. Maybe during lunch too.”

“We all heard you spent yesterday in her office too. Himiko and Mister Aizawa said something about it having to do with your quirk.” Hagakure butted in, joining Himiko in front of my desk. I could tell she was looking down at me. As for the face she was making? Well, her eyelids were lower so maybe her eyes were narrowed. Not hard to guess from there what she was thinking. “I don’t know if I’m imagining things, but can you see me?”

“Not really. I’m just kind of seeing your outline, I guess.” I thought that would’ve killed the air in her sails but apparently, I was wrong, the outline of her palms dropping onto my desk as she leaned in closer.

“But you can see my face?”

“I can see where your eyes are, not what they look like.”

Not even that killed her growing enthusiasm, Hagakure asking more and more questions. Himiko smiled cheekily when I glanced over to her, finding the sudden interrogation I was under amusing, but she ultimately grabbed one of Hagakure’s arm, dragging her away.

“Come on, class is going to start soon. That nerd needs to get ready.”

“But I have more questions.”

“You can come with me when I go see him during lunch.” Himiko handled her complaints easily, the two of them taking their seats back at the front of class.

I guess it made sense that the invisible girl would be so eager about someone being able to see her in any capacity. Honestly, those other memories didn’t give me much to work off when it came to her; the most significant thing about Hagakure had been her good looks that fans obsessed over when it was finally revealed. If it weren’t for that, back in the show her character was about as forgettable as most other side characters.

As the rest of the students filed in, a few more catching my interest, Aizawa finally got up from his sleeping bag, taking us through our morning routines.

The whole time he talked, Hagakure was looking my way. I considered just ignoring it but lackluster impression on those memories aside, that girl over there was Himiko’s friend. I glanced over to her, giving her a quick two finger salute before refocusing on Aizawa.

There was no harm in appeasing her interest.

She smiled, I think, before finally looking forward.

…it been a long time, but I was pretty sure that was similar to the same notification I got about Himiko. Should I take it as a positive that it didn’t say obsession?

Mister Aizawa stood across from me, both hair and scarf defying gravity and floating in their air around him, his glowing red eyes focused on me.

Clenching my fists, I let the orange hot flames form around them, the spread heading all the way to my elbows.

The red glow faded and his hair dropped alongside his scarf. “Doesn’t look like my quirk has any effect on that either.” He said aloud, less for us and for those who were watching, a few cameras spread around the large box shaped metal room we were in, the place identical to the one Midoriya and I had been allowed to use before.

After school ended, Principal Nezu had called me to his office and asked whether or not I was comfortable letting the school’s staff know about my varied abilities so they could help test certain things. Given that they were all in the know about All Might’s time limit, I didn’t see any problems with it though I did wonder if he’d actually let me get away with saying no.

He was being super accommodating all things considered.

To make it even more believable that this was all a part of my quirk, I could’ve just pretended Erasure did something but there wasn’t much point in that. They were still making heads and tails of everything now in my body, metallic bands secured around my forehead, wrists, and ankles alongside some wired patches stuck to my chest.

Maybe with time and enough study they'd identify everything all my new organs did but there was no way they could be absolutely sure of what my new biology could and couldn’t do. Better to lean into blood permanently changing my body to allow for everything that came from the Gacha.

We’d already tested Mister Aizawa’s quirk on my actual one. If he was actively using Erasure on me when I ingested blood, none of the usual effects would take effect. If he used Erasure after I’d drunken blood, it did absolutely nothing to me, not even shortening the time on them, all of which were even more efficient than before.

I wasn’t sure if I should credit Precise or the surgery for Bloodboost’s upgrade.

Either way, it was safe to say Mister Aizawa’s quirk suppressed or entirely prevented the activation of a quirk factor. Himiko’s quirk had to do with replicating stuff in people’s blood, quirk factors one of them.

Neither quirks could truly interact with stuff from the Gacha.

I was 99.9% percent confident in saying All For One couldn’t steal anything from me aside from Bloodboost. That 0.01% wasn’t something that could be disproven. Unless I got myself some kind of trait or ability that outright said something like immunity to foreign energies or absorption, it was good to be just a little paranoid about the whole possibility.

Better to have that man killed without ever finding out if that paranoia was justified.

Aizawa nodded to me as he left the room, replaced by Midnight strolling in through the same metal door, she no doubt some students’ favorite teacher for all the wrong reasons.

“That’s quite the fine quirk you’ve turned out to have, Akaguro. And you’ve showed a commendable work ethic so far. You’re exactly the kind of student I can’t help but favorite.” She said. A mostly harmless set of compliments but that tone of hers leaned far into those wrong reasons. It made me feel like I should be fearing for my chastity…if Himiko left me with any. “And you’re not bad on the eyes either.”

And there she goes cannonballing straight into the weird vibes rather than just leaning into them. How do you even deal with a teacher outright flirting with you? Those other memories, nor any experience I had, brought any answer.

So, I defaulted to the single best line in one of these situations.

“I have a girlfriend, ma’am.” Not something I ever thought I’d need to say to a teacher of all people but here I am. Thank the RNG gods for Iron Mind though. The skintight outfit that bordered on BDSM gear, that tone, and the look she was giving me; if it weren’t for that trait, I doubt I’d be able to say that with a straight face, let alone keep eye contact with the woman.

“And loyal too. You’d make quite the catch, I can tell.” Chuckling to herself, Midnight reached for a piece of her costume just above her wrist. “Recovery Girl would like to test one of her theories about some of the changes your body has undergone which is why I’m here.” She ripped the material, revealing skin, a pink gas rising from her. “Don’t worry. Though it may leave you unconscious and defenseless, my quirk is harmless. Go on and breath it in.”

And the vibes just kept getting weirder. Did she need to add defenseless with that tone?

Ignoring her questionable habits, I did as I was told, the pink aroma so sweet I was tasting it long before it reached me. A pressure, instinctive and involuntary, formed around my chest, my lips subtly parting.

Constricting. That was the right word for the tightening in my chest. It felt like my lungs and the muscles around them had suddenly pulled tight, yet I was still breathing, something else within my chest in the same area taking over that job.

The second set of the now three pairs of lungs within me had taken over, likely detoxifying whatever she was putting in the air.

As the seconds turned to minutes, Midnight raised a brow, ripping away at more of her costume, the pink gas becoming denser.

Why did it feel like she was doing some glorified form of stripping in front me?

“It seems you were right Recovery Girl.” Nezu said, watching the live feed of the training room alongside the others. It appeared as though Midnight would end up straining herself before Akaguro started feeling tired. If he did at all. There wasn’t any change to the machines monitoring his unusual vitals. “The transformation he’s undergone is nothing less than astounding.”

“I’m not sure I’ll be able to make sense of all of them. Not all of the organs I’ve identified match any known ones or look like anything I’ve seen before.” Recovery Girl said, over on the couch in the corner of the room, still flipping through a clipboard of Akaguro’s scans. “I’m still unsure what part any of them played in those flames.”

“Does the same go for those hands he created?” All Might, beside her and outside of his muscled form, asked, intently watching the feed as well. After what he had faced, the true nature of that battle unbeknownst to those he protected, Nezu couldn’t blame any paranoia that might’ve been rising up in his mind. It’d be stranger if he didn’t find any in the sight before them.

Nezu wouldn’t deny the need for it but didn’t fully share it in this case. He may have broken the law, but his reasons were valid and nothing Akaguro had done so far would connect him to that man or any of his possibly remaining people.

Recovery Girl nodded, her focus shifted from conversation back to monitoring the machines she’d had set up.

“His quirk is something, alright.” Aizawa, standing beside Nezu’s chair, hands in pockets and head craned back as he watched the feed, said. “But more options aren’t always a good thing. He could freeze up and end up useless in a real situation.”

Not necessarily untrue but given his history, Nezu was sure the opposite would happen.

“You’ll be having your class participate in some Rescue training tomorrow, won’t you?” Nezu questioned. “Our new facility should be able to emulate real world situations well enough.”

Todoroki, the son of Endeavor. The temperamental talent that was Bakugo. And Midoriya, All Might’s chosen successor. They and a number of others were among those he expected to perform well in high stress situations despite individual problems.

Akaguro made that list long before he shared his abilities with them.

“Aizawa, make sure you tell that little Toga to visit my office again.” Recovery Girl reminded while flipping through her notes, Aizawa grunting.

That reminded him, Toga Himiko had become a subject of interest too. Her quirk, from what he could gather so far, didn’t match up with what was officially on record either, something he’d done some looking into.

And from what he gathered about her parents, Nezu already had a guess that her reason wouldn’t have much to do with being a choice on her end compared to Akaguro.

(A/N: Don't take everything as a sign of a confirmed pairing. Honestly, aside from the obvious trio that's been on the cover of every website I post this story too, I don't have anyone locked in for the harem aside from maybe, possibly, kind of Mirko. Might actually use the poll system here and on QQ to see how people's taste are swinging for a few specific characters if anything since I mean, even if i didn't intend for it, plenty of characters of a bit of set up for the harem.

Yaoyorozu seeing him as a rival/friend , Hagakure now being somewhat seen and already friends with Toga, Toga taking an interest in Hatsume and possibly roping Katsu into getting to know the oddball too. I could even spin Jiro's caution of him to a basis for a relationship between the two. A whole bunch of different ways to write lay before in the downtime between major events alongside training. Hatsume gets my own personal vote with Yaoyorozu following behind.

Anyways, romantical stuff aside, its time to lock in. Feels like its taken years to get to the USJ but the time has come. Vibes for it have definitely changed from the original struggle fest I had in mind. The power of the Gacha people!)

“I have a girlfriend, ma’am.” You crazy, MA'AM!? Some women take offence to that. Not every hole has to be a goal if it just makes everything forced, not everyone would be down for a harem situation after all. It's fine to leave some of them as friends, though I don't know how you're going to involve older women at this point of the story. During the internship would make more sense as a place to start in that direction if it takes your fancy. Jiro should be freaking out over whatever Katsu be doing, especially now btw. He already learns so much about people with what he hears so she should be similar. Probably thinks he turned into a monster or got replaced by a skin walker lol.

That ma'am was definitely intentional lol. His way of drawing a line in the sand; luckily she found it more amusing than anything else. I put Mirko in maybes because I did kind of start the story with her partially in mind but at the same time that's a crazy age difference at the moment. Gacha and it's effects aside, I did have a interesting plan that involved it leading into the epilogue/timeskip of the story rather than being a constant thing like the rest. I figured that might annoy some people but it's the route I like the most. Plus I could just make extra/au chapters of more interactions. In fact I could probably do that with people who aren't in the harem if I feel like briefly exploring dynamics that didn't come to be. QQ's extra section has really open a whole new route to my stories I never considered before. Smut aside, there are scenes that might've been a one off line or mentioned in dialogue that I could fully write out if I get the time. And yeah, Jiro's reaction definitely needs to get shown lol. That was the initial plan here but Hagakure stole her screentime. She'll get it back though.

At the very least keep Mirko whole. Felt like the author went out of his way to mutilate her because of fan response or something. She overshadowed too many other girls in popularity, I think. You'd think she would at least be given better looking prosthetics smh.
