Falling from the apex of his jump, All Might landed on the edge of an empty roof, taking a moment for a breath.

Down below, roads filled with cars and sidewalks packed with people, there was plenty going on despite the morning rush being over. Musutafu wasn’t the biggest and typically wasn’t the busiest city despite the tourist attractions they did have, but since news got out about his teaching position at U.A, the amount of people using their free time to catch sight of him had the city competing with the largest cities in term of activity.

He was running late.

Dammit. It feels like my time limit is getting shorter every day. He thought, stepping back and pressing a hand to his side.

On top of being late, he was pushing himself. At this rate, even if he made it back to the school in time to join the rescue training the students should be going through, would he be able to hold this form for the rest of class?

He’d stepped out during his break only to hear a call for help. Then another. And another. He’d have hoped just him being here would drop crime to a minimum but pack enough people in one place and something was going to happen.

Crime never sleeps after all.

Bending his knees, a light weight dropped on his right shoulder.

A cat, with black fur and crimson slitted eyes sat on his shoulder. The same exact one he’d been catching sight of around his home in recent days, those eyes far too strange for an ordinary animal. He’d discounted it as a neighborhood stray due to the lack of a collar or any other identifiers but now it had a miniature bag strapped to its bag and an envelope in its mouth.

An invasive fan going too far with their quirk. That harmless assumption was dashed away by what was written on the otherwise plain front.

Toshinori Yagi

He half expected the animal to disappear in some way or run away after he snatched the envelope from its mouth, but it remained, no struggle put up as he placed it under one of his arms and ripped open what it delivered. A compromise of location was one thing but nothing there should’ve been able to give away his name.

A note that, like his name on front, contained writing so perfect he thought it was printed out, was inside.

There will be an attack on the USJ. Your students and colleagues are in danger.

He didn’t have a moment to question the simple but shocking contents before the weight beneath his arm vanished, that cat nowhere to be found across the entire rooftop.

Bending his knees once more, he took off, phone pulled from his belt.

Limit or not, he had to push ahead and confirm that claim for himself. And if it turned out to be true, handle things before anyone got hurt.

Crimson was on the move, rapidly approaching the school from the city.  Scarlet was much closer, still handling her own task.

“Whoa, this place is huge!” Subtly slipping my phone back into my pocket, all signal to it already out, I kept my eyes dead ahead, Mister Aizawa and Thirteen leading the amazed class forward. “It looks like some kind of amusement park!”

The long flight of stairs ahead of us lead down to the heart of the massive dome shaped building, trees and grass set up around the stone walkways that spiraled all throughout the place. A rocky area meant to simulate mountains or cliffs and a large body of water with a no doubt expensive cruise ship set up on it. A number of smaller domes, with colors and scents that gave away their purpose, the red one smelling heavily of burning materials while the blue had that scent in the air I sometimes picked up before and during rainfall.

All that made it a bit difficult to pinpoint exact locations, but I could pick up more from all those areas.

People. More than likely, whatever person or group of people had the quirks to cut off USJ from the rest of the school were already placed in position by Kurogiri.

Things were going to take a turn any minute now.

After a quick introduction of the place and some vague whispers between our teachers, the two referencing All Might getting caught up in hero work, Thirteen once again gathered everyone’s attention.

“I’m sure all of you know this but I have a very powerful quirk. Its called Black Hole; I can use it to suck up anything and grind it into dust.” She said, raising her hands, her costumes keeping the finger areas capped. Midoriya and Uraraka were quick to nod along, the former dutifully recounting her achievements with it. “Yes, it’s true that I’ve used it to save many people, but my quirk could very easily kill.”

What I considering stating the obvious was enough to get a few of the other students to gasp.

“Due to heavy regulation and certification of quirks, we often forget just how dangerous quirks can be in our super powered society.” Thirteen said. “Please don’t forget that if you lose focus or make a mistake, your quirks can hurt someone. Some of you will have to be more careful than others due to the nature of your abilities.”

Aizawa, silently standing near the stairway down, glanced back, his gaze lingering on Midoriya and I specifically.

“Since participating in the Entrance Exams, you’ve all gained a more clear idea of what your quirks are capable as well as how dangerous they can be to those around you but today you won’t be using them to fight off machines or attack others. Today you’ll only be using them to save lives.” Thirteen’s voiced picked up, her passion a sharp contrast to what we ere used to from mister Aizawa. “After all, that’s what being a hero is all about. Ensuring the safety of others.”

If only being a hero was that cut and dry; natural disasters and fires were hardly the only thing involved with the work.

“Thank you for listening.” Thirteen said, bowing to us. More complicated things aside, her long speech about today’s training got the class cheering, putting everyone into high spirits.

High spirits that were swiftly dampened by the ring of lights that circled the domed ceiling above flickering out and darkening the entire room for a moment. As the light returned, down below in front of the spluttering fountain centered along the stone walkways, an unnatural darkness formed.

Spinning and spiraling, purplish black fog burst out around it, golden eyes formed for a split second before hands and feet emerged.

Ten…twenty three…soon too many people to bother counting began to step out.

“Did the training already start? I thought-“

“Stay back!” Mister Aizawa ordered sharply with the swipe of an arm, positioning his goggles over his eyes. “All of you stay together. Thirteen get them out of here.”

“Hold on, whats going on? Weren’t-“

“Now isn’t the time to be asking questions. Those are real villains.” Aizawa cut off all questions as he walked forward, taking hold of his scarf.

“Wait, Mister Aizawa, your quirk isn’t good for something like this.” Midoriya called out, stepping forward himself despite the situation. “Erasure is best at sneaking around or one on one fights not-“

“You can’t be pro if you only have one trick.” Aizawa said, glancing back for a moment, villains kept in sight the entire time. “Now get going!”

There wasn’t long distance conversation like some show.  As soon as the gathering villains began to move on the stairway, mister Aizawa didn’t hesitate to jump his way down to meet them, his hair and scarf raised. Only I could pick up on the distant warped voice of Kurogiri and the scratchy one that wasn’t hard to connect to Shigaraki.

That made it all the easier to pick out their exact positions.

Strange hands covering his face, back, arms, and other parts of his body. A shaggy mess of hair. Pale crusted skin. Shigaraki was only a few days away from being a walking corpse, the towering black Nomu beside him, its brain exposed and bird like face stuck in an odd dead expression, managing to seem far healthier than him with its muscled form. Kurogiri, nothing but a mass of dancing shadows at the moment, not even glimpses of his neck brace visible from this distance, was on his other side.

“-only ones present are Eraserhead and Thirteen.”

“And we went through the trouble of bringing so many friends who’d like to meet the symbol of peace. Maybe if we kill some of his students, he’ll come out to play.”

Disgusting.

“You heard Aizawa, get moving.” Thirteen ordered, everyone managing to shake off their surprise and awe of watching Aizawa take down villain after villain within seconds of meeting them down below.

Tearing my eyes from the distant trio for now, I moved along, following Himiko and the others, Thirteen spearheading out retreat. Recklessly rushing ahead was too risky right now. If that Nomu down there got on the move before All Might was here, the chances of someone dying if it wasn’t taken down immediately skyrocketed.

By the feel of Crimson, All Might was closing in fast. Faster than I expected, fortunately.

“Wait!” We didn’t reach the doors though, Thirteen spreading out her arms to stop everyone as another misty swirl took shape in front of us.

“Apologies but there will be no escape for you.” Kurogiri announced as he formed from that spiral, the dancing fog that seemingly was his body, obscuring all but tall ominous eyes that hovered above all of us. “In truth we expected All Might to be here. There must’ve been some unforeseen circumstances the schedule we stole couldn’t account for.”

That stuff around him was perfect for fooling the eyes. Even with my sharpened sight, I couldn’t make out the exact position of his brace this close.

“I suppose it doesn’t matter.” Kurogiri’s mist began to spread out. At the same time Thirteen flipped back one of her finger’s caps.

“Don’t.” I called out while moving ahead, Bakugo and Kirishima doing the same. I stopped beside Thirteen while they jumped headfirst at that darkness, explosions from Bakugo kicking up more dust that further obscured things. “His quirk looks like it has to do with teleportation. If he uses it, he could turn yours against us.”

“Of course.” Whether or not she took my warning seriously, she kept that finger at the ready as the smoke cleared, revealing Bakugo and Kirishima alongside the unharmed dancing shadows of Kurogiri.

For an instant, before those shifting shadows began pouring off him en masse and pushing past us, cold and blinding, I caught a glimpse of the silvery metal of his brace.

And it was exactly where I expected.

“You live up to your school’s reputation, but you should be more careful children.” I bent my knees. “I’ll scatter you across this facility to meet my-agh!”

Cold hard metal met my knuckles. A restrained left hook was more than enough to send him aside, Kurogiri’s warping body beginning to reform before he reached the stairway’s surrounding railings. That haze of his could fool our eyes but it didn’t completely rid him of a scent.

This was risky and could easily end with that Nomu down there sicked on me, but I wasn’t going to let this bastard scatter everyone. That was just asking for something to go wrong. There were too many factors to bank on whatever groups were created perfectly complimenting each enough to deal with unknown quirks and superior numbers.

“Get everyone out of here Thirteen.” I said, readying my fists.

“You’re just a student, I’ll-“

“It doesn’t matter. That haze of his is useless against me so I’ll hold him off.” I said.

“Useless, you say?” Kurogiri questioned, shadows surging once again. I rushed straight at him, letting it wrapped around the two of us. Fire and ash. It was subtle, suppressed by his quirk I would guess, but that scent gave away what he was planning. Pivoting on my heel, I avoided the small but quickly formed portal separating us and jumped up, a kick sending his brace fully crashing against the railing this time, the shadows retreating again.

For someone who gave so much trouble in the show, he was slower than I anticipated, portals or not.

“Go Thirteen!” I ordered. “Or do you want to risk some of us being separated?”

I didn’t give her a chance to make an argument, rushing the recovering Kurogiri, another hastily created portal he didn’t even bother hiding among the rest of his shifting fog avoided, and seized his brace, a much harder punch, one packed with enough force to knock most out, sending him over the railing.

All Might was close. Aizawa was still going strong, nothing more than grazes exposing a small bit of his blood to the air, and based off Scarlet’s approach, more pros weren’t far off.

Before all that, before anyone could interfere, Kurogiri needed to be handled.

(A/N: Got to be crazy to be ordered around by a student but that’s just how it be.

Anyways, Katsu’s going to soon grasp how strong he is compared to more than just students now. Bout time he had a rerun with some villains. Man is definitely entertaining some more darker thoughts about them too. We’re going to have to see how things play out.

Though, he’s a bit crazy if thinks everyone, aka Bakugo, Midoriya, and a few others aren’t going to try and fight some villains after what he did. The Student President is setting a trend that teachers wouldn’t want followed.

Also I like the Batman approach with All Might. If there's anyone who thinks of themself as their hero name, I would feel its been the guy who's been the Symbol of Peace for Decades. Buddy has pretty much sacrificed the entirety of his personal life for hero work after all.)

Yes, everything is all going according to plan. Until it doesn't. Though with Katsu having high defense and perception he should avoid being one shotted by the Nomu. He's everything Kirishima hopes to be. Solid. Plus, Kurogiri should have just went over to gloat because of the man baby. I don't see why he should stay on the front lines getting the belt to ass treatment when he should be able to pull some distance to cast his portals if the Nomu interferes. Man baby likes to play with his food so he should force the separation to get his little game on track...I'm way to hyper focused on what ifs. TFTC. Can't wait for what you post next.
