Hey!

I wanted to put this out there as a suggestion box kind of thing of what you would like to see from me as this Patreon goes forward. Also, if there are things you enjoy from other Patreons please let me know and I'll do what I can to implement better approaches to this. I'm not super familiar with what others are doing on this platform so if there are any best practices or things you've come to expect from em, I'd love to hear it.

I'm planning more comic work as well, not just Garfield haha.

Looking forward to reading all your suggestions!

Dave

Would love to see more specific techniques in clip studio, screen tones any specific tool settings you think is valuable.

Colorblindraws

Your breakdowns have been great Dave, I'd love to see more of that whole Black Witch project, even if u wont go make more of it, just some scans of the watercolors or something, those paintings were absurd

Last Night Dreamer

yeah comic stuff would be awesome, I love anything with some semblance of continuity

Devin

It would be cool to see you random generate a character description or scene description and you work your way through that with ips you like. That last Q&A had good nuggets of knowledge.

Rauv_Art

You do such awesome long-form video tutorials; I would really like to see more of them! Animation, comics, pixel art, anything!

Manta

I need more Steve and Drac in my life bro

Locochon

Concept art tutorials/ breakdowns. Big fan of your concept work, like what you did for Paragon and TMNT movie.

Andrew Gibbons

I'd love some form of critters return even if it were not consistent or anything. I think you gave such great critique and paint overs and that those type of vids are so valuable for people stuck in that how do I even make it better, mind freeze (even if its not their piece being critiqued.) I just teases out that critical thinking and I find them really entertaining ;P

Kiptoe

Hey Dave, I'd love to see some of your old projects like Skull & Shark or a couple pages of whatever happened to that project. I'd love to see how you make your motion comics like Starveil, that was one of the coolest things I've seen with the gifs in the comic.

Zuzanna Horaczuk

Tutorial on thumbnails and fundamentals of illustration. I think most of the idea/problem solving and most difficult part of any artwork are the first hours. You need to decide on shape language, composition, foreground-background-middleground and sometimes on the direction and color of lighting. If you add useless details to an illustration that doesn't look readable from a thumbnail standpoint you're wasting time, and most likely you need to share this stage with other people on a project.

Whatever makes you happy, I’m just throwing money at this thing cause you da man!

Klutsen

May be a discord Channel, i think we can create a comminuty and help us each others.

Kiptoe

Also your pipeline process for making comics! From ideation to writing and layout, so forth.

Faolan Grady

I would like to see whatever it is you're interested in doing. I know you is a lot of ideas, and I would like to help give you the resources to see those things through.

I second this. I’d love to get a portfolio review or a piece critiqued. I know that may not scale as is, but some form of that would be great.

If you're unsure at this time about taking submissions for critique, it might be cool to see you crit some of your own work from years past too. would be nice to see how expanding your art skills gives you a new view on your older work? I'd also just like that you are dong the work that makes you happy and not burning out trying to pander to your patreon backers cos you always dong cool shiet anyway so more of thats fine *thumbs up*

Bora_M

I don't mind it as it is. Getting your images in psd is helpful enough. Although if at any point you would do more teaching, portfolio review, personal art advice I would be on board!

Rave Dapoza

Love what you’re already doing, in terms of 'work in progress' updates like metal gear & the occasional character concepts for fun with psd's. My most benefiting thing is watching the process videos(live streams), I would love to see more of it (yay Squirtle)! Even how you did ‘Crimson Daggers’ with Dan, draw a piece for fun and you and Dan shoot the shit. We pretty much like watching you have fun drawing as we watch/get inspired/learn lol Thanks again for all you do, your basically becoming immortal by living through the influences you’re spreading.

Flo Tasser

Any chance you'll record any interviews with Marko Djurdjevic or any of his SMV people? Love the story when you where in germany, very inspiring. I always took Marko very seriously and I don't know why exacly. Probably because I like his (and your!) no-bullshit approach to things, because I have the tendency to make excuses all the time. Bloodsports Playlist: is it available anywhere? I searched for it and didn't find it, was so great back then! I would make a new one, but I can't remember all songs :D Also, do whatever you feel like, I'm super stoked about this patreon already for weeks!

A. Magwitch

I'd love to see those Acceptable Comics episodes you were doing with Dan. I loved them the most. Learning stuff is great too but sometimes it just feels so cozy to listen to you 2 guys. I understand if that takes the fun out of it though.

Martin Paz Romero

I would love to see more video of sketching like the last one Watercolor/Inkwash and also like the orc you did for gumroad. Love everything you are doing for your Patrons =)

Koni Nordlund

I just like listening to you talk dude

Derrick Eide

I DM'd you about possibly paying you for some artwork done, let me know!

Leighton Chance

I would love to see a video covering your approach to constructing a character drawing. Tips on the structure, anatomy, and how you get those great expressions and personalities to come through. More of a technical figure drawing video instead of an overall process video.

Yumm456

My favorite content of yours has always been the podcast-style streams you'd do with Dan, and maybe another guest or two, talkin about the artist life and the trials and tribulations that come with it. They're always my favorite thing to put on while I draw and get me pretty motivated. I must've listened to the "getting through the middle" video on dan's channel like five times now. I know consistency is impossible for you right now, but I think it'd be cool nonetheless.

Yumm456

Also the discord

Minhaj Khan

Not sure if you're still looking for suggestions, but I'd love to see more timelapses. I love the longform real-time videos too, but watching a timelapse gives me a better idea of the process, for me at least

Andrew Faris

Would you be open to making wallpapers? :)
