This one is just the character! I had planned on recording more but I honestly thought the background would be more of an afterthought after I got the initial character done - this image was more or less another experiment in style.

Thanks for this! May i ask if you altered any of the settings for chrome thin brush? (Like stability settings etc?) I’m having a hard time sketching with it. It doesn’t look anything like how you either make lines or start rendering with it. Thanks!

Hi Dave, I would like to ask a question. How much time was spent on this Sonic render? I intend to work with illustration but I feel that I spend too much time on my drawings and I am afraid that this could get in my way. I started this one on Sunday and worked on it for a few nights after work - finished on Thursday night - probably took around 12 hours to finish. Speed is all relative, I draw a lot and made a good amount of comics so my drawing speed naturally increased through lots of repetition, I honestly think the drawing is the most important part of the painting for me personally - so, if you're focused on creating strong drawings before painting I don't see too much wrong with that - speed will come with time!

I haven't changed anything in the brush settings, all of that is whatever it comes with - I have my tablet set on a middling pressure sensitivity, leaning slightly to firm from center on the curve.

Ohh okay yea I may have it less firm so the strokes end up being jaggy or blurry for some reason. Thanks!
