Progress Report | First Update Roadmap (Patreon)

Hey everyone!

In case you missed the previous update, now that House Chores is complete, I recently announced the next game that will be updated on this Patreon page! The game will be titled Room Service: Weekend in Crimson City.

Today, I wanted to share updates on the overall progress of that first update and a little bit more of what you can expect for the gameplay of Room Service!

== Art Progress ==

For the first update, I'm aiming to have the following art done:

Jen's design & starting outfit [Complete]

Hotel Room background [Complete]

Hotel Lobby background [In Progress]

Updated HUD elements [Not Started] (Might save for later)

The hotel lobby & hotel room are core locations of the game, very similar to the House Chores home so having these both complete is crucial for getting that first update done.

Some backgrounds, especially for areas that aren't as frequently visited, I plan to use pre-made backgrounds from VN background packs (human made). This should save a lot of time since backgrounds are usually pretty time-heavy to make. This will allow the artist to focus more on NSFW content!

== Story & Gameplay ==

Room Service tells the story of Jennifer and the main character (MC) as they take a short trip to Crimson City for a weekend! Although the main character isn't particularly thrilled to tag along, some unexpected surprises turn this trip into a weekend that they'll never forget!

In general, this story will center around Jen and the MC's relationship to keep the scope of the game more focused. There might be a couple of other female characters, but they'll be much more brief interactions.

Because the story takes place over the span of a weekend, gameplay will be a mix of branching visual novel storytelling with some of the sand box elements of House Chores mixed in. I plan on having some impactful options that may change the sequence of events, locations visited, and outfits worn. By the end, my hope is that Room Service is a game that players are eager to play multiple times to experience different outcomes and events!

Room Service is also intended to be a smaller project compared to House Chores. While the scale of the game could grow still, I aim to completely finish the project within 1 to 1.5 year(s). We'll see how well that goes, hah!

February is still the target goal for a release of either an Alpha playtest or possibly Beta 0.1. Once the required art is complete and development progresses more, I'll be able to share a more accurate release date so stay tuned!

Meanwhile, I'll be sharing teasers wherever possible, such as a better look at Jen's initial design coming soon for Patrons! After the initial art is complete, NSFW teasers should start resuming like normal as well.
