Hey, cheesecakes! 

Not gonna lie, this was an extra challenging writing period for me. Much as I love the concept of this story path I've been writing for Sayori's Alter route, trying to tie things up has been a difficult slog and I'm not super happy with the result. I've hammered out a conclusion to one of the possible resolutions to Kyou's cartoonish recklessness, but there's a lot more to do that I hope to be inspired for sooner or later.

Some more bad news is that the CG art for the rooftop group scene has been delayed, so only Hiroko's CG set from earlier is here for show :( So, with my obligation to put out an update this weekend, I'm going to release this as is, but look out for an updated release with the second CG and probably some additional writing on Sayori's Alter path early in the week.

Okay, I just have to say, I love Altered Sayori - she's kind of amazing? Like, obviously Kyou is violating her autonomy quite a bit, but she's honestly just really funny whenever she's like this. Like, it's Sayori's normal formality, but with a bubbly exterior that is just so...not her. Hell, I even feel bad for her when Kyou has to get rid of her. I'll be honest, there's quite a bit in Penlight that I find interesting, but this route might be one of the most interesting, with all this stuff about identity and what-not - I kind of get the impression that the Altered Sayori is a product of Sayori's own repressed desires, in a way? Of course, Kyou was the one who created her, but he didn't tell her to do ALL of the stuff she did. Regardless, it was all very interesting, and I highly look forward whatever other endings you decide to add to the route, along with any future additions to Penlight!

Although I've found it hard to stick the landing I do think this is one of the best storylines in the game, so I'm happy that Alt-Sayori is making enough of an impression that people care about her~ And wondering how much of her un-Sayori-like behaviour was purely down to Kyou and whether some of it really was a repressed part of her all along, just waiting for a chance to come out as he thought... it's a fun thing to think about!

On this, we're in agreement! What do you plan to do next for Penlight, if you don't mind me asking?

It'd be neat if I could manage writing a second ending for this storyline before moving on. After that, I intend to look into Nozomi's paths again as the game has expanded so much since those were written. Not to mention her halfway-finished Reversal path :/
