EUROA: joyful, happy
ALLAWAH: stay here, rest, sit down
DULILI: together
MALPARARA: two friends
BUNJI - close mate

there are more terms emphasising rest, but i am not sure a tavern REALLY is about rest

I voted for Euroa and Allawah: I think their meanings are the most appropriate and they sound the nicest too, IMO. Though I *would* love to hear you keep attempting to pronounce "Malparara" during the vids lol, not gonna lie. xD

I thought Larundel was a Medieval English town so something like The Cockerel’s Head Inn would fit in better with the theme? The names here work better with Pub after them and sound like a good place to crack a Northern with ya mates😂

Noooooo it's not english! hehe! I might be mashing a bunch of cultures together but yeh. Why cockerels head inn, and what theme? I'm curious on your thoughts! :) I want Larundel to be an alternate universe situation where there was a mini armegeddon that held humanity back A BIT, so there would be some steampunk tech stuff around, in the middle of a certain medieval environment. And may explain future props and such i'd introduce into the world. There will be more time plot thingies later which I think will be cool :) Did they call them pubs back in the day?? Hmm...I feel like i need to brush up on my lore more but i feel like i did so many hours of research, how do i now know this already?!

shhheila

Thanks! That makes sense! Allawah is in the lead, and good too, because I can pronounce that one easily! ^.^ Dang i'm so grateful your vote didn't reflect your curiosity to hear me tripping on my words and being all tongue tied, HAHA! :p

Dunno mate thought it sounded good for a medieval inn, Cockerel and Boar’s Inn sounds good too. They were usually called an inn if they had rooms to stay the night (as they usually did). Later on drinking places were called public houses (the Irish shortened it to pub and we inherited it). In mainland Europe they would have been called taverns.

shhheila

You're so smart 😅 So do you think having a tavern AND an inn, is wrong then as they are the same thing? I thought tavern was just a drinks n grub place?!

TeaPay10

Latin “taberna” = Germanic “inn” Same thing In the Middle Ages the lower classes couldn’t afford to eat out like we do today, unless they were travelling, in which case they also needed somewhere to sleep. Upper class people wouldn’t have gone near an inn.

shhheila

Hmm...I think i'll just name one... "Grub n Grog. /Tucker n grog" and that will be a restaurant, and another will be called the Inn. I think that makes most sense to me and i'm sure will not confuse others so much?? :)

Well I get the idea Larundel isn’t meant to be 100% historical so you should be able to get away with some artistic licence😜 You could prolly call it the Ettamogah Pub and most people wouldn’t know the difference😂
