SOOOO Youtube is doing a thing which basically penalises content that is appealing to children (re, slime...bedtime stories....character rps etc)....sooo i'll probably be steering away from that kind of content in future. We'll see, i'm still learning about what is exactly going on.

Apparently over $40,000 fine a video to creators could be a possibility. It's a government issue???

What? :S So the AUS Government is fining YouTubers or something?

shhheila

not youtube, and its world wide. it's FCA i believe which is a organisation which protects children.

So the COPPAs are after you? :p I take it this is due to (I'm guessing) paedos using online material -- targeted at child audiences -- in order to groom/have online contact with them etc?

HAHAHA!!!! That's actually a great pun hehe! ^.^ Well, no actually, they fined youtube MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of dollars for collecting data when children peruse youtube....which is hella illegal. So now youtube took that hit, they are taking precautions so that now WE are responsible for that, hence, if we do not say our content is for kids, we are the ones fined in future.

Oh great: so a multibillion dollar corporation gets to shift the burden onto everyday folk due to the company's product collecting user data against the law. -_-
