I did not use a green screen for this scene. I animated everything using stills and layers that I spliced together in photoshop.

What's real?!
the candle, basket, bottles, windowsill, vase of dried flowers, and darkness to the right
What's not?
The bookshelf, smoke (the only video), cat, skull on stack of books (to hide the blue yeti which RUINED immersion imo! )

I'm sure it's obvious...but in case you didn't realise the books are 1 photo spliced repeatedly and angled on perspective (those darn dried flowers!), and the cat is another ( i made it blink) ( i used about 5 layered to make the fur look lit from the back), and the skull on books is another ( using 3D photoshop lighting effects), and somehow i made the scaling, lighting, masking, and colour grading work...

I mean I never did anything like this ever again, but honestly I think it's rather effective and I probably should?!! Don't you?

Not bad for 'not a green screen'!

That’s why it looked so real ay! Usually with green screens you’ll see a bit of a green edge around the person especially on darker scenes. Good onya

Totally. The green screens i used later looked aweful, BUT i could move in front of them ...soooo u win and lose! I may consider filming this way again in the future!! The "still "animations on top were lame tho, (aka the cat). If i just animate him to BREATHE then it would be ok! I know how do to that now!
