New Wigs and things!

Yes yes yes it was fun :) Your new shirt looks cute on you and my favorite wig was the straight black vampire one. I think in general, you bangs brushed to the side looked nicer than parted in the middle. The foam clay nose does look like it needs to be narrower because it was making you look cross eyed. Well... actually I'm not sure if maybe it was the placement of the camera but it seemed like something was making your left eye drift inward. The "creepy" mask at the end looks like Voldemort. The name of the space guy..... ummm... Andy? (REM made a song called Man on the Moon about comedian Andy Kaufman.)

shhheila

Thank you, Lew! I agree that one eye looked off centre, dno what is up with that??! haha...maybe it was coz i was looking slightly to the left into the viewfinder? It happened in the last creepy mask too! HAHAHA yes omg voldemort!!!! Ah! Andy is a good one!

Lew Skaanen

Oh I forgot to ask... how can I access this wish list you mention?? The new job will give me some much needed financial stability and I may be feeling generous :)

Lew Skaanen

Yayyy thanks for the link :) I totally know which ones I'm getting her. Sheila it's a secret... and ya gotta let me get a couple paychecks put away, but then it's on :)

shhheila

Lew no pressure nor expectation, that's why i didn't mention it in the video! If you do happen to, I really appreciate it! It def takes off a burden for me since work replaced my role basically so i don't have as much disposable income anymore! hehe. Thank you for considering it in the least!! :)

Lew Skaanen

Replaced your role?? That sounds shady af... like in the movie Office Space where the consultants are interviewing people to see who they can get rid of. Luckily(?) most of my life I've been in either trucking, call centers, or restaurants. They can screw you over a million different ways but at least they can't eliminate your position. The freight isn't gonna haul itself, the food isn't gonna cook itself, and the customers aren't gonna talk to themselves, lol :) I really hope you can line something up that pays you a decent living without working you to death or having to deal with a bunch of cut-throat assholes :)

shhheila

aw it's ok i actually asked them to hire someone in my department coz i was doing the work of many - working like 12 hours days and didn't have time for ASMR. i wanted to move to part time, but as it worked out it seems that they fully replaced me and paid the new person twice as much on thier first gig to sweeten them up...so that was a bit of a slap in the face. Anyway... haha. I'm not mad about it. im in a lucky position where i can focus on my ASMR right now and as technically i don't even earn enough through it to fund it right now i hope i can get there soon, in the meanwhile i'll keep using up the money i saved while i was working hard, haha. :)

Freelancers really have it best I think... there's no "company ladder" to stress over trying to climb, no office drama because you're only there to do the job and focus on the quality of your work, not schmoozing... and if you want a raise, you just say "this is my rate now" next time they call... and if you're good, there will always be a next time :) But I'm happy for you that you can focus on Youtube for a while, relieve some stress, build your audience. I'm estimating your Robot Repair 3 premier must have netted you around $500 ?? That's beautiful especially if it can become a regular thing for you.

shhheila

In a way but also freelancers can have dry spells too. I've not had a lot of luck with it myself. Tho the wage might be more fair (sometimes, haha) Actually i got under $200 AUD and youtube took a 30% cut of that --- so not much, it doesn't go far considering i just got some make up glue that cost $80 and the new SSD that was $150 - it unfortunately goes so fast as money does aye, hahaha? Costumes --- whoooshh...easily i spend over $300 a video but i barely make it back. Most of my videos only make me $1-2AUD haha...it's really less than you think. About $1 per 1000 views.

Lew Skaanen

Yikes... 30% ?? That's more than a credit card takes, lol. I see you passed the 11K subscriber mark, congratulations :) Can you tell yet if the algorithm has been recommending you again now?

shhheila

yeh it's a fair cut haha.... I did! So exciting! Thank you! It has been for my latest video, but it's starting to taper off already. Sometimes u can stay being recommended for weeks or months but it seems to already be chilling out which is a shame but that's the only reason why i'm over 11k is coz i was being recommended :)

Lew Skaanen

I'll stop pestering you now... hahaha. It must be after midnight there :)

shhheila

ur not pestering me :) I'm just trying to close my 1000+ tabs coz my pc and i are getting frazzled by it. hehe....2am, goodnight :)

This was pretty fun! Show and tell can be a fun little patreon benefit. Lots of really fun stuff! That LED mask is pretty sweet, definitely great for cyberpunk/sci-fi stuff, maybe even magical. That witch hat is super fun and cute too, compliments to your mom's craftsmanship! Those goggles would be perfect for something pilot-y or steampunk as you said, it could be fun to see you do a sci-fi pilot/surveyor/space tour-guide thing similar to FrostglowASMR. Always enjoy what you end up coming up with!

Also, that facemask has a neat lizard-y feel to it! Makes me think of lizardfolk from Skyrim or DnD.

shhheila

Thanks for the positive feedback! I do think those items are pretty cool too! Yes i'd love to do that i've had a space series planned for a LONG time and i'm working my way up to it but dare i say it might take a year to get to - i hope not though!
