Patreon is offering a change to 'subscription billing'.

1- NEW- You pledge on the "random date" and then pay again that random date on the next month....

or

2- EXISTING- You pay on the day you join, then again on the 1st, for the stay of your patronage.


I would prefer option 1 if it were me- as if i joined later in the month i'd feel robbed of the time of the month that already passed---, but i don't want to choose for you.

All existing patrons will stay on the existing 1st of month billing but for new patrons this change will take effect. 


What would you have preferred when you signed up?

I’m so used to the 1st of the month payment so it doesn’t bother me anymore. But for people new to the platform the first option is better for sure.

prefer the 1st of the month model tbh, because then i always know when the money is coming out of my account

I'm surprised how close it is, as u joined when u did it won't change, but for future ppl since the lead was pay the random date i switched it over. its a permanent change and i can't change it back! (i'd be like you but time my patronage to the 1st week! haha)

If I'm subscribing to something like Netflix or Disney, I'd kind of naturally figure that if I subscribe on the 20th, then it will renew every month on the 20th. But Patreon is a little different. What if I subscribe to 8 different artists? I don't want to have transactions happening on 8 different days each month. I'd rather have one combined transaction on the 1st.

Meh, no worries. You're actually the only Patreon artist I subscribe to in reality. If by some miracle I stumble upon more artists I like enough to contribute, I'll just make sure I subscribe on the same day of the month.
