2023 ASMR Journey & Plans (Patreon)

This post has been in my drafts and I thought i posted it!

To those of you here from the beginning thank you! And how my style has EVOLVED right!?! haha...Another year, another evolution!

I'd like to focus on sci fi and fantasy going forward -as usual. I want to help you escape the mundane disappointments of life with some wind down time, rather than purely focusing on helping you sleep. It'll be a little chaotic and a lot immersive!

2023 the focus will be to get more ideas out there (aka shorter vids), keeping them fresh so i am not getting so frustrated and bored editing them, and being smart about placement of details (aka, at the start not the end of a video!)

Easier doesn't mean worse, or lazy, or badly edited. They will be BETTER coz i can focus more editing time on less output time! I make videos about 1hr long and if i can make it 20m long i can make 3-4 really good ones in a month instead of 1.  

This is coz i have over 50 scripts WAITING to be done and if i do 1 a year i'll NEVER EVER do them all, they keep accruing!

I'm so looking forward to attempting weekly uploads ideally!

I've yet to see a video from you that I didn't enjoy. You have such skill at creating characters and worlds for them to inhabit, I really am looking forward to what this year has in store. Shorter videos are indeed fun, and I must confess that I'm guilty of having to return to some of your longer videos because I get pulled away halfway through. Twenty minutes is the sweet spot for most creators, and although I enjoy the depth of your longer videos, I think some viewers with shorter attention spans are less likely to click on something that has a long run time. I'm glad to see you making videos that accommodate your schedule better, and will be easier to edit. Most of all, I am happy that you can share videos that you have developed fully, as I know you've felt pressured to complete a few in the past.

oh thank you so much, maybe something for me to strive for HAHA! what do you mean by develop fully?? I always manage to feel stress even if life is easy cakes, just a talent of mine i suppse! HEHE

Merely meant that you've commented about certain videos you wish you had more time with. I know some of last year's videos were especially difficult due to hardware failures, lost footage, and suchlike. In the event of similar calamities this year, shorter videos would be easier to recreate and edit, allowing more freedom in your schedule. I've wondered if you have ever compromised on certain details of a video because too much time had already been spent making it.

oh yes, trying to meet deadlines or cutting things easier to make it function on my pc. truth! haha I should HOPE that shorter will cause less issues! heh OH allllll the time! Like the alien video with the third eye, i just spent 3 hours editing the blinks and called it a day, i did the first few minutes and one here or there throughout. but that is a time constraint u just have to say "good enough" or i'll be there for months like that ghost video that wasn't even that good lol!

Your alien and robot videos are fantastic. I love to listen to them as I write or wind down for the day. They are so soothing with just a bit of strangeness to keep it interesting. Keep up the great work!

For me 25-40mins is the sweet spot. 20 mins is too short and doesn't have the re-watchability. 1hr is too long and I get bored or fall asleep well before the end though you can pull off any length of time because of your script writing talent. I love anything with magic and wonder whether it be fantasy or advanced aliens or future cyberpunk. I also love the idea of combining technology and magic - science fiction and fantasy as a concept like the techno-mages in Babylon 5 tv series, in the Arcane: League of Legends and of course Star Wars.

i think the idea is that you DO fall asleep before the end hehehe. but i know different ppl have different purposes for asmr. some tingles, some to unwind, some to sleep! :) I am the same, anything not of this reality is fun to me! the combo of sci fi and fantasy is pretty rare isn't it! I'm still getting used to the concept myself!
