I'm a Pagan so I actually celebrate Yule. But that also means I enjoy many of the same things that other people enjoy during the Christmas season, including decorating a tree. I like the part of the Christmas season around Christmas Eve when things seem to slow down from their holiday busy-ness and it feels like a silent night.

My favorite part of this time of year is the kindness people show one another. I know it's often short-lived, and just as quickly forgotten, but there are moments where strangers, or the estranged, connect in ways they usually don't. It gives me hope for this world. I never want anything for the holiday, because I'm happier seeing others enjoy gifts, shopping to find something they will appreciate and use. I miss the homemade gifts friends used to give out. Far from lavish, but they took time and very personal touches to make them special. I treasure that throughout the years more than anything expensive. My best friend always sends me a letter, which I've saved each year since we met. It rarely mentioned holiday stuff, but she shares insights, gripes, and occasionally illustrates weird characters within the borders of them, never sparing an opportunity for vulgarity. My gift is that I still have such interesting, wonderful people in my life. I always believe that time apart, or as interests, priorities diverge, it will erode a friendship. Year after year, I'm proven beautifully wrong.

Yes I'd love love love an eLetter. My favorite part about this time of year is the weather. It's cooler and drier and sometimes I get lucky and there's snow or a day or two. For Christmas I want you to have a computer that freeek'n works and doesn't drive you crazy every chance it gets, and some cat toys, and some gingerbread cookies.

Am I too late for this? My favourite thing about this time of year is time off work 😅 spending time with family is good and all but I just don't wanna get up at 7am every day 😂 That and all the food, I can't wait for all the food 😂
