Today hasn't been great for tech.

Had a BSOD that not only crashed my 50% draft render...which is whatever...but also my photoshop file where i construct all my thumbnails and had planning for my new setup. And somehow (I've never seen this before!) it corrupt that entire file!!

VERY frustrating to lose many days work and not have fundamental files that make thumbnails easier, and to lose a whole days work when i know i could have had this video finished today. I keep my cool thru a lot of things but i had a moment i did want to throw my pc out the window lol.

PC is safe for now...maybe lol

I do get BSOD alllll the time, as i never fixed the issue,...but... here we are. More memory issues, wasted time and broken hearts. one heart. mine. sigh.

THIS is why i'm slow. Tech gets in my way, i literally had time to watch a cat documentary while i was previewing my files so i could see what i'm editing. VERY SLOW.

I just wish i had a pc i could use updated versions and ALL apps i want to use and actually just like...save files...quickly, in the app i want to and have my pc not crash and corrupt all my files. Would be nice.

Sorry that this is such a regular thing. I believe you put more work and time into your videos than most asmrtists, given the overlaid sounds, video effects, etc. I'm curious if the event viewer or system logs might give insight into what causes the issues. Many graphics cards bought second hand at good prices once served as bit coin mining machines. Some lower end nvme drives I've used have very inconsistent write speeds during long, sustained use projects. There are so many variables it could be any one or combination of things.

yes, i'm aware i keep getting mostly ram errors, so it's likely a ram issue or something of that vein. I did buy new ram but didn't pull out the old or new ram. It would take a long time of swapping out to sort out which it was and i didn't want to start that process coz i have things to edit lol! oh my graphics cards should be good its just adobe doesn't even utilize it 90% of the time! so upsetting innit? hehe. It's mostly CPU/RAM power for adobe! Last error that messed stuff up was a "video memory management internal" . I saw a tute for how to solve it so i might do that after these videos go up! :)

Get memtest86 and stick it on an old, low capacity flash drive and boot to it. You won't even need Rufus, as the memtest software already has the setup to make a bootble USB. Boot to that baby from bios and strap in for the edge-of-your-seat thrill ride that is memory testing. Depending on the system, it'll probably take hours to run its course. I've a 4ghz, 64gb ddr4, 16 core with 12gb ddr5 system, and mine ran overnight without finishing until I forced it to quit. If system power is a concern, is yours a "smart power" psu, or green psu? Those are nice for some general users, but I've found them to hinder people who do a lot of gaming or video work. I'm likely sharing information you already know, much like I do with my doctors, but as this problem persists, I'm hoping some modicum of this ramble might point you in the direction of a solution.

A cat documentary?? Learn anything fun?

Um...Cats like people more than i thought? haha It was trying to paint cats out to be super loving and intelligent but it just painted them out to be slightly smarter. For eg... "most cats know their own name" - yeh not all, most. and most cats picked their owner over food or toys...but are they just using the human for pats? is it real love? Are they full ? LOL These are things i ponder lol.

They have super sensitive hearing so they pick up on a million subtle inflections in our voices. I'm not convinced they know their "name" in a literary sense because they'd have to know what a name is. But I think they are beyond the need for that because regardless of what word you say they can tell by the tone that you're wanting interaction to give them treats, pets, or playtime. Is it real love? That's a great question. I guess it would depend on what you personally mean by love. My personal definition of love is the enthusiastic willingness to take responsibility for someone. I think cats get really really close to that but aren't quite there. The take responsibility for their own offspring but more by instinct than choice, and only within a certain time frame, after which it's "lots'a luck buddy." Toward humans, I think they become conditioned to enjoy, even crave our attention, but not to the point of taking responsibility for us. They call it "tom catting" for a reason. As the old Fleetwood Mac song says, "players only love you when they're playing."
