TLDR: I've been unable to edit or render for 5 days now....I half fixed my PC. Progress was made.

My PC honestly has been giving me issues over a year and lately they have gotten worse making the fans run loud, cpu at 90C during render and just constant BSOD crashing my renders and my mouse wasn't working most the time (it's not the mouse all 3 mice are doing this just on this pc. Had to clean the battery acid out of one and replace the battery too)

- I pulled the pc apart, removed the liquid metal that had damaged the cpu a bit, and used thermal paste
- I removed half my ram thinking that old set was faulty
and then dusted it all.
- I had to remove the GPU and cooler to do such and i actually broke the clip that holds the GPU in but it's onl a little broken. maybe i can remove that thing another 4 times before it snaps clean in half. or less....
- ANYWAY the CPU was running 20C degrees.....20...cooler!
- Fans were quiet again. YAY
- but a render was going to take 27 hours but only went down to 20 hours 19 hours later....and another attempt says 301 hours. so...

BUT if i recall correctly I had 1 BSOD.

- ANYWAY then I started on repairing drivers which i've attempted 5-7 times before to no avail. ANYWAY i did it and it ACTUALLY worked coz i never updated the chipset...ever....and anyway that did the trick it seems! LOL
- No BSOD...yet......yet....
- and my render is saying it will take 4h even with half the ram (though it's been 2.5 hrs and it still says 4h to go...so...)!!! FINALLY it seems my GPU and CPU are being used WAY more than usual during renders hence the new faster render time! (before the gpu was only being used at 3% now its upwards of 80%! And the CPU was around 20% and now its more than double that!)
- also it seems media encoder is pausing render all the time and just sitting there. Like....render?? Please? i dunno, I'm sure it's a setting somewhere so i'll look that up! haha

I can access older apps as well that i've been waiting a whole year to get my mitts on! So excited!
- but.....the fans are way loud again???
- and my mouse is still hardly functional but the plugged in one works a little better than the other two (it's lost it's dongle somewhere?)

So...
I will trouble shoot the mouse and the fans. Also a bunch of software no longer works as well, like a radeon sound app and my Fan Xpert app is gone? dunno where it is lol....
and i get a few pop ups when i open my pc saying "such n such can't be found" so that's probably good news right? LOL

so 2 things that i know of so far that i have to fix from the update.
BUT
now i have finally use an updated version of audacity instead of using an older one a bunch of versions earlier! HOPEFULLY this didn't stuff up any of my other apps. i'm not going to open them all lol. But i'll find out as i use them i guess!

I might need to still upgrade my ram to be sure it's not faulty as memtest always froze, AND it will help run things even faster I hope!

Oh and i went to cancel my adobe coz a little birdie told me you get a deal if you do that and yep, adobe is now almost 50% off for me for the next year. So that's an extra $40+ a month i get to spend on my channel instead of throw into the wind. Thanks for nothing Adobe - robbery!? lol????

Anyway I'm super happy and also tentative over todays events. It's been boring af trying to fix tech (everyone will know it's my least favourite thing to do)....so i'm happy to just hopefully soon be able to edit and whip out content MUCH faster! Here's hoping!

To do,....i guess
- upgrade ram
- neutral monitoring headphones instead of imitation apple ones
- fix mouse
- find where fan app is or replace
- any other problems that will inevitably pop up LOL

Hope you and ur tech are well and co-operating, like mine mostly finally is!

I'm sure that many of us who have followed this journey over the past year are very pleased with this news. I'm happy to hear that things are finally coming together for you, and glad that you have remained steadfast in your constant tweaking and updating. For any who have toiled around with a system that just wasn't working, and finally getting it working, the feeling of success, that “eureka” moment, is unparalleled. Only a few minor fixes left before you go full Shhheila on the world.

FanControl is great for setting your fans if you want an alternative to fan xpert

Yay half congrats! I do IT and it sounds like you have a heat issue. I'd test this by opening the case and pointing a giant fan into your ram at full blast and then run a memtest.

Wow!! I have to admit I really understood none of that except for the part about how tedious and frustrating it is for you to deal with, when you'd rather be creating cool stuffs. All I can really offer is emotional support, which of course, you're welcome to unlimited quantities of, unless the drop bears get me. Then you're on your own.

A quick ten minutes of cinebench would tell if thermals are the issue.

steadfast for as long as i could stand anyway hahaha. it was looking good, i was elated, but unfortunately the tower is crashing down. metaphorical tower not pc tower that is. maybe a bit more than a few minor fixes but if i can have all my apps functional i'll be very very happy!

before i redid the liquid metal i'd have agreed, now...maybe not? Tho i have 1 measurement measuring the high 80s the others in openhardware monitor seem to be at good values so perhaps not?? - i'm no expert though. I'd like to try new ram just to see if that magically solves it! WOULD BE NICE. hahhaaha! Memtest might need to be re-run - after this next upload coz it's been too long!! :) We'll see then! (is it bad to not cover the case and point a fan at the side with the wall off. won't that put a lot of dust in it?

Nate Nguyen

I usually suggest a fan because I don't know the tech level of people on the internet. Fan is easy to figure out lol. It's fine if you just do it for a bit. Your normal case fans pull in tons of dust even with the little filters on them. I would say 80 is cause for taking a look at your cooling. It's not like going to explode but that's hotter than I would like on my own computer.
